The Undefeated Undisputed Champion of the World
One Punch
Now he is nothing
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Tiny
Orange mushrooms
Bloom inside the pine stump
Within the corpse of death life breathes
Again
Tex Dermott May 2015
Peppermint
A soothing flavor
For the breath
Yet it fades
As the hands of the clock move
The taste always ends

Liberty
The gift of freedom
Paid with blood
And brave sweat
As the hands of the clock move
The taste can remain

Destiny
Can be decided
Liberty
Peppermint
As the hands of the clock move
Which taste will you choose
Tex Dermott May 2015
Pink bubbles
Flow from the bathtub
All sizes
Yet the same
Soaring like mighty eagles
Then they just go POP!
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
Pluto*
Lost its status,
But does it really care?
It still remains a mystery.
**Who knows?
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
In the pines
A purple flower
Blooms among
The needles
Bringing color to the drab
A symbol of life
Another shadorma.
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
In Rattlesnake City
The moonlight had never shined
Poison reigned supreme
A small lamb offered his life
Bitten in his heart
Leaving a ****** red scar
The rattlesnakes mocked his tomb
A lion appeared
With a crown upon his head
His subjects shouted
As the rattlesnakes were consumed
The mooonlight then beamed
On this noble conqueror
The red scar on his heart glowed
This is a Naga Uta, a non-rhyming poem. Syllable count is 5-7-5, with the last two lines 7-7. Also there is no line limit.

Instead of revenge
*Seek out a place with golden streets
Tex Dermott May 2015
A rose carved from ice slowly melts away. Imitations of nature vanish quickly, even when crafted by men of great talent. The superiority of mankind is rejected.
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
Cletus told Gertrude
Gertrude told Hilda
Soon everyone knew
*A story that was not true
Tex Dermott May 2015
Sometimes
The truth
Must be encountered

Often
Saying good-bye
Must be said

Closing
The door
Never looking back
So long everyone.
Tex Dermott Sep 2015
Writing a song
Is in my dreams
*My heart seeks it daily
I wished I knew how to write a song.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Live to shine for another day.
Hope never seeks death.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Sky Blue Rooster proudly shines,
A fox’s dream comes true.
Tex Dermott May 2015
This stallion looked quite strange. His nose was round and his tail could grip. Bananas were in his feed trough. Later it was discovered that he was a quarter monkey.
Tex Dermott Sep 2015
Sometimes
I write something that is good
Sometimes
I write something that really stinks
Still*
I write what is found in my thoughts
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
As the human race goes down the drain,
The Star of Bethlehem shines brightly
For all the wise to see.
Some Christmas in July.
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
Stars
Stripes
Christmas
In July
A time to honor*
The King who redeemed all mankind
More Christmas in July
Tex Dermott Sep 2015
Some stories never end
Some songs are never sung
Often the heart seeks
*Something that cannot be found
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
The clock strikes ten.
I have two hours to finish this story.
*Done!
I call this form Unlucky 13.
Tex Dermott Apr 2017
I know a story ten miles long,
Now it's gone.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Ten word stories can be as hard as writing novels.
Tex Dermott Mar 2017
When one writes ten word stories,
One must think fast.
Ten word stories are challenging and fan

I stand up to fight

Arriving in a July rain
Was born the future bard Jax Reed
Raised in the fields of sugar cane

As a young teen he jumped a train
Seemed destined to do ***** deeds
Arriving in a  July rain

Yet in prison he found his brain
Thinking about his life’s creed
Raised in the fields of sugar cane

As an old man he seemed quite sane
He started riding a white steed
Arriving in a July rain

His stories lived through his son Bane
A legacy that left good seed
Arriving in a July rain
Raised in the fields of sugar cane
I have not done many poems in the Villanelle form. So I will be rewritting this over and over.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
The baseball wakes and departs from the glove where it has slept for months. Now for a season one boy's dreams, of major league, will be fulfilled.
Tex Dermott Feb 2020
Since I have the time.
I will write a poem that rhymes
There was a duck
Who had a lot of luck
He found a *** of gold
And lived to be very old
Only one thing made him totter
He had a great fear of the water
Today I just thought I would write a really bad poem about writing.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
The end never really arrives, we have new beginnings instead.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
The cupboard
Could not hold his dreams,
So the green dish fled his home.
He traveled the entire world, sailed the
Seven seas, and even went
Into outer space.
What a life!
Tex Dermott Oct 2015
In the henhouse, an egg hatched and a zebra emerged.

*More to Come….
I have decided the write a series where each part is only 10 words.
Tex Dermott Oct 2015
The farmer collapsed graveyard dead upon seeing the tiny zebra.

*More to Come….
Tex Dermott Oct 2015
As the tiny zebra grew, others saw and were amazed.*

More to Come…
Tex Dermott Oct 2015
Only the chickens knew the zebra’s secret,  they kept silent.

*More to Come…
Tex Dermott May 2015
Long ago
In another land
Where surreal
Was the norm
Lived a knight who had no sword
Rode a unicorn

In battle
The unicorn’s horn
Struck many
In the heart
Soon the two were greatly feared
Mighty men trembled

However
All men meet their match
An arrow
Full of lead
Went through the unicorn’s hoof
Death quickly crept in

The archers
Surrounded the knight
He trembled
Full of tears
His nobility vanished
Painfully dying
I had to redo this one.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Number two
Pencils of the past
Had a life
Which was brief
Now thanks to digital times
They live much longer
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
The Elephant
Stands Mighty,
*Until he sees the tiny mouse.
Tex Dermott May 2015
At a small tourist town
In the middle of the hills
Stands a bearded man
Sporting a derby
And shiny cowboy boots
Strumming his banjo
Folk music flows through the fresh
Windy mountain air
Soothing the tired traveler
A symbol of this nation
From the Ozark heart
Keeping a culture alive
With a rare talent
And a simple instrument
That few people play today
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
The hens were sleeping
A crisp cool breeze was blowing
And the full moon shinned
The chicken snakes crept inside
To begin their feast
Then one of them fell in love
His cold evil heart
Was struck by Cupid's arrow
He licked the hen's beak
She awoke and fear overcame
The farmer heard screams
And all the chicken snakes fled
That is all but one
While trying to win her love
The farmer chopped his head off
Tex Dermott May 2015
Shomer Long
The talk of the town
Loved by girls
And women
Money more than he could spend
Died a lonely man

Tex Dermott Sep 2015
The vampire sings
Such a lovely song
I hate to see the coming dawn
My heart still feels the ting
The darkness no longer seems gloomy
On the night the vampire sings
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
Jubilee
All the books are cleared
No more debts
No more liens
All properties are returned
The past is buried
This shadorma is based on the Jewish year of Jubilee.
Tex Dermott Sep 2019
Once
Unknown
Then the mask
Changed Everything
Billed from "The Far East"
At first he was hated
A villain who was heckled
In time the fans learned to love him
The Yellow Cat became an icon
For eleven months held the golden belt

In
The town
Of Crescent
Tears filled his face
As the golden belt
Was won by another
Mobs looted the tiny town
He stood on his soapbox with rage
And became Governor of the land
A cult formed around The Yellow Cat

A
Hermit
Named Percy
Removed the mask
Of The Yellow Cat
A man with a plain face
His name of no importance
People were weary of the hype
And life returned to it's normal pace
The Yellow Cat cried the tears of a spoiled brat
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
They say black cats bring bad luck.
Three white kittens just crossed my path.
**Does this mean triple good luck?
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
Star of Bethlehem is trending but is not liked.

*Strange!
I do not understand how Star of Bethlehem trended with only two likes
Tex Dermott Sep 2015
Unto us, white horses fill the sky, hope is coming.
I messed this one, only had 9 words. It is now revised and is 10.
Tex Dermott Jun 2015
Bats arrived
In the Ozark hills
Lived among
The people
Taking a human body
As the sun went down

Some got drunk
On homemade whiskey
Passing out
Getting trapped
By the bright morning sunrise
Turning to mere dust
Tex Dermott Jul 2015
Venus and Jupiter appear to amaze mankind with their brightness.

Tex Dermott May 2015
Whatever
Happens will happen
Rain or Shine
Sticks and stones
This world will continue on
Just go with the flow
Tex Dermott Aug 2015
I did this
I did that
Means nothing in the end
*Without love
Tex Dermott Mar 2017
If you like to write,
Then write for free
*Willingly
I now write as a calling to touch someone and will not write for money.
