I saw a butterfly on the concrete floor
I saw her for a moment, but wanted much more
The moment I touched her she flew away
I followed her lead throughout the day
It’s nothing more thrilling, and mark my word
as to follow this beauty across the world

Though I feel often as lost as she is
As confused and lonely and without a peace
I am asking myself day and night
If this is just wrong or if this is alright

To live in a world with no place for such beauty
To feel like a stranger that has no duty
That has no purpose in this jungle of ours
Like a magic potion with no powers

Like the butterfly on the concrete floor
Like a house without a front door
Like a man with no shadow behind
Is this just me or are we all blind?

Like  an unyielding wave of  emotion and ecstasy,
mysterious perplexity,
left breathlessly astonished by this sensation of  unidentified bliss.
Dumbfounded and taken aback
there isn't a crack
in this wall of love that emerges from a light,
this is not a feeling I would ever fight
fueling these intense impulses and mind boggling feelings
each layer of this flower petal is peeling
It is concrete, this love
a stone set certainty aimed for the stars,
blood pumping wind gusts and fast paced cars.
This  inexplicable sureness floats in the streams of twisting dreams
dancing in my head
painting each wall red.
intuition at it's finest, for there is no mistake
every corner of this world would quake
if what I'm saying did not deem true.
It is concrete, this love
nor a fantasy or an illusion, I will never be freed of,
*this concrete love.

Waking among the concrete structures
Starting the day running around in earnest
For chores are plenty and time is handful
To begin a new one-hundred-meter-dash
Trying to outdo each other, in an imaginary race
Every stride we take, the concrete takes away our zeal
There is no cushion for the hectic lifestyle
Taking a toll on our mind and body
We seem to have reached somewhere
But end up at the same station, to catch the train
Inadvertently, packing every coach
Few faces we know from our daily commute
Lots of new faces add up to the crowd
We are an individual, but interspersed in the crowd
Waiting to get-off at the daily destination
The concrete pavements and the concrete buildings
Greets us gloomily, although modern architecture
Facades of glass reflecting off the chaos of life outside
Immediately, we are in a grind of the job
Lost in numerous presentations and graphical projections
The pie charts take the sweetness out of our life
Savoring only percentages, with sprinkling of peppery talks
Targets are set and client’s meet are arranged
To strike out a deal and sign-off the nuptials
It’s a marriage of client and service providers
Where brands are hogging the limelight
For us it’s the race to maintain our saneness
As it’s a daily commute through the concrete jungle

my face smashed against the concrete
when you kicked me from your
life; i'm still picking jagged stones
from the spaces between my
teeth. because of this,

i don't smile
anymore.
i don't like it when people leave.

Woke up in a dream under asphalt trees
soaked in the sap of the sweltering city
wearing these old rat rags
               and sneering at the concrete
Greyscale mindset stitched into my sleeve

This town'll ******' **** ya
and drop a coin on your grave
dig your way up to the daylight
and hang on to your *****

                    Waking up
                    Snapping out.
It's not so easy, is it?
                  Waking up and snapping out...

The barge is afloat on the sidewalk streams
Burns in the summer, ******* doused in Spring
the bums puke in corners
               children ***** in the alleys
Sinking hulks. "Abandon ship!" on the galleys

These waves'll ******* **** ya
and pull you down in the deep
this dream ain't worth waking for
But we can't get to sleep.
The end of one story is the beginning of another.
Many obstacles and challenges have been overcome.
But the pursuit of happiness is far from over...
Because a whole new story has just begun!

A whole new story, as of now, unwritten...
With no words, no pictures, no tales to retell.
Whatever challenges and hardships await you in the future...
Only time will tell!
