the days and minutes
are poured out
precious little ones
they need so much

you think you will
collapse
your energy all spent
your mornings fade to night
and start again

the time goes swiftly by
those precious minutes
growing
into years

circling round and round and round

the time...it is a treasure
each memory enshrined
most days
there are no thank yous
for you-mom

the endless love poured out
the bank where it's all stored
you'll find it's  in your heart

it's not contained

for it flows on
and on  and on
and on and on and on

it never ends...

Knowing

A certainty
you can count on them
no matter what

you are loved
and valued
and would be missed

and you are there for them as well

they cry
and dry
your tears

they feel your pain

steadfast

they are a gift
from God.

The Lord knows

He sees the evil

He knows those of us
who sigh and cry
who look around
and see the evil
in our midst.

We want to run
yes run
run screaming
from all this evil...

The way of man

it is not in him
to want
to do right

we must follow
hard
follow hard after God.

Because the evil
the gross evil
all around us
is falling down
all around us.

Imploding
our society is imploding...
We cannot fight it
though we must try.

We can only
walk
circumspectly
keeping our eye
on our Creator...

because you see
the Lord
does know
how to rescue
the godly people
from their trials

and He does know
how to keep
the wicked
under punishment
until that final day
of judgment...

Oh, sigh and cry
hear and fear
reverence
our Lord.

So great
is His faithfulness
His love.

So great is He.

In the midst
of all
our pain
our grief
and our sorrow

there still is
hope.

He will not fail us.

Hope in Him

Hope.

I have a memory
one  perfect one

where time stood still

for hours at a time

where the sun shone
even on cloudy days...

just me, my voice,
with the piano
in my grandma's
sun parlor

and the old, old sheet music
and picking out the notes
and playing with my *******
...just *******
and singing the songs
....with my one voice
and I was lost in dreamland songs, and hymns, and dixie and stephen foster....
and if ever i had a happy memory
...where nothing hurt
...and i was loved
...and safe
it was there.....

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."

John McCrae
During World War I, a Canadian Expeditionary gunner and medical officer, John McCrae, fought in the Second Battle of Ypres near Flanders, Belgium.

Describing the battle as a "nightmare," as the enemy made one of the first chlorine gas attacks, John McCrae wrote:

"For seventeen days and seventeen nights none of us have had our clothes off, nor our boots even, except occasionally. In all that time while I was awake, gunfire and rifle fire never ceased for sixty seconds...

And behind it all was the constant background of the sights of the dead, the wounded, the maimed, and a terrible anxiety lest the line should give way."

Finding one of his friends killed, John McCrae helped bury him along with the other dead in a field.

Noticing the field covered with poppy flowers, he composed the famous Memorial Day poem, "In Flanders Fields":

What a gift

Yes,
He walks with me
with love
He talks

Overflowing
His joy

I'm in

it would never cease....

I am slowly
beginning
to realize
that to love
can be easy,
but also very
difficult.
It can be
innate,
and sometimes
it must be learned.
It can be
as a well-mothered
baby
and also
be orphaned.
It can be oppressed,
and it can be
welcomed.
It can be hoped for,
and its flame
can also be
smothered
with doubt.

Birth
comes whispering
her way
into the world.
The passing
of the days
are unmentioned,
unnoticed,
forgotten sounds.
And then,
with no forewarning,
another faint whisper,
and we have
death
at our fingertips.
In vain
do we grasp
desperately
for the fleeting
moments,
sounds,
of which we were
oblivious to
only yesterday...
which were
Ours
only yesterday.
Alas!
All is gone
far
beyond our reach,
save only yesterday's
murmuring
echoes.

from my granddaughter.

Some people see their  granchildren

all the time...

I can't even use all the fingers on one hand up

for the times I have seen

But God is so good

He has made a way for me

I am numb

for I won't
