IS THIS A GOOD TRAIT?
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
I guess I am stoic,
And tolerant, is that heroic?
Is stoicism a good trait?
Or maybe I am stubborn, okay,
No one has to believe B.S.,
So stoicism is a virtue, I guess.....

DO WE LOVE?
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
Do we love the right way?
Does anyone really love anyway?
Intangible concept,
Abstract no less,
Love comes in different shapes and sizes,
Yes, feelings can be full of surprises,
Imperceptible feelings, let's say,
Philosophy from the aged,
Does anyone love the right way?

CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
These are our millennial kids,
On them we should not keep lids,
As the future is for children,
Teach them to grow oxygen,
Else there'll be no air to breathe,
A dullton world one day, it seems,
Children grow up too fast,
Which generations shall breathe their last.........

TEA LADIES...
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
Once there were tea ladies, with mystique,
Our morning thirsts, they did pique,
Broad of stern,
Trolleys of urns,
Lovely biscuits, sometimes cakes,
Morning pangs, they did slake,
Big happy smiles, tea lady's here,
Did we greet her with a silent cheer,
And by the way,
What was your name?
Where did you go to, bye,
Gone to make tea pots in the sky,
Once were tea ladies, with mystique,
Our morning thirsts, they did pique......

A POSITIVE ROLE......
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
Too many thoughts can drag you down,
Smiling is allowed,
Hard times can test your faith,
Oh, melodrama of the grace,
The world is, indeed a stage,
As a famous bard did say,
But thoughts have a positive role,
Solutions appear to guys and dolls,
So, plebs, sit down and have a rest,
Positive ideas are creation's best!

NASA'S PLAN.....
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
Off to a distant planet,
In a spaceship with our best,
What would you take, Nasa?
What of our culture really matters?
Books of lit. and Maths,
Maybe faith, perhaps,
Music, art and maps,
Or a book of isms.
to start new religions,
or the history of the human race,
Send it all into outer space,
In a spaceship with our best,
Star trekkers one day, I guess,
Nasa's vast plan, no less......

A FOREVER FRIEND.....
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
I went to a local church,
Sat in a pew, like a perch,
But I pondered,
Gazing at folk a'yonder,
Where are all the kids?
Don't you know what Jesus did?
How to bring them to a church,
To sit and listen, on their perch,
Maybe a Gospel in graphics,
A hitech savvy for kids,
To meet a forever friend,
With a love that has no end,
What is the future of the church?
I ponder as I sit here on my perch.

SOLILOQUY
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
Is this soliloquy fun?
Of good men, I'd like to meet just one,
Isn't snivelling fun?
There's a comedic part of this,
Inner whinese is a lovely chick,
How do oldies get proactive?
Soliloquy of an old woman,
To whom do you reach a hand?
You got the best of men,
I got the worst of men....
This is a soliloquy of one,
Isn't snivelling fun?

General Practitioners.....
Julie Grenness Mar 2017
What is a doctor to you,
Is he your guru?
Or does he write a script,
Off to the pharmacist,
Symptoms he treats,
Do healers you meet?
Or does he turf and bounce,
Off for pathologist's amounts,
Then back to the doctor to you,
Is this your local guru?
Then does he turf and bounce,
off to a radiologist's amount,
Then it's all clear,
Good photos of your limbs here,
Time for poisoned jellybeans,
Modern medicine, it seems,
All with a copayment fee,
Is he your guru?
What is a doctor to you?

It may necessarily be so,
It may necessarily be so,
The things that you're liable
To read in the Bible,
May necessarily be so.
Moses was found in a stream,
True for the times, it seems,
They foundered kids in fields and streams,
For the crocodiles to take them,
Yes, Moses was found in a stream..
It may necessarily be so,
It may necessarily be so,
The things that your preacher,
Is liable to teach you,
Read it all in context, you know,
It may necessarily be so,
Jonah could have lived in a whale,
Yes, Jonah could have lived in a whale,
Not in the abdomen,
The gastric juices would have taken over,
But it could have been the mouth of the whale,
People were much smaller,
The whales were much larger,
May  necessarily be  so,
May  necessarily be so.
Then there's the parting of the Red Sea,
Chronologically sound, you see,
Thera erupted,
The Red Sea parted,
The Tsunami swept away the Egyptians and the Pharaoh,
May necessarily be so, don't you know,
We may be small plebs,
But oh my,.
We have a powerful God, don't you know,

The world is watching and waiting,
We note Putin and Trump embracing,
Is it phony fear campaigning,
or into Armageddon we're racing?
Too many munitions we are creating,

Why all this prevaricating?
No one should be participating,

The closure of olden ways,
A real vintage train,
Souvenir of a passing parade,
A blast from the past,
We cheered as it rolled on, at last,
Shall we see those days again?
The revival of steam trains,
No, it was all part of change,
It was the end of our days,
The closure of olden ways.......

Now you're a'sulking,
In your lair you are skulking,
Now no one loves you, churn,
Go down the garden and eat big fat worms,
Sad violins,
Pity parties for him.

My kind of guy, I suggest,
I feel this poem does regress,

Not the end of the world, to him no hand,
I ponder, alone, not lonely, like a cloud,
Yes, other magic is still allowed.......

When a woman footy player explodes,
Read about it in this little ode,
She is so 'over' the antediluvian,
She knows what to do, some man,
Cleats to his groin,
End of his sirloins,
Off to the pub she went,
His supper was a non event,
A loud, proud f....ing moll,
No antediluvian's little doll,
A woman footballer explodes...
Thus concludes this little ode......

Also along the way, by the way,
There's dentures in glasses,
Zimmers on greys who want to make passes,
Then there's incontinence aids, bad hips,
Appointments at medical specialists,
Then you're off to the pharmacists,
To get all your scripts,
Then there's the alphabet song,
Read along, read along,
A is for Arthritis,
B is for Bursitis,
C is for Constipation,
Always a grey consternation,
D is for Diarrhoea,
And no doctor wants to know ya!
Finally, Z is for the big sleep at the end,
No wonder geriatrics go round the bend,
Yes, greys, these are our golden years,
Have fun learning, no need for tears!
