You'll find me in the forest
Beneath the silver birch tree
With ribs in weaves of primrose
And stomach in knots of heather

Dear Lovers
A Whitney Oct 2014
Juliet,
Don't you sweat,
Your love will be here soon,
With a rocket to the moon.

Romeo,
Please don't take your time,
To make her wait,
Is such an awful crime.
A Whitney Oct 2014
Paint me a painting
to vex Van Gogh,
My fondness then shall grow.

Sing me a song
to smite Streisand,
My love for you will be so grand.

Compose me a masterpiece
to blow away Bach,
Then my heart you will unlock.

Write me a sonnet
to shame Shakespeare,
Tell me now, am I asking too much dear?
just a single rose would capture my heart

How I long,
To be that piece of art you adore.
To find my name,
Written upon the shore.

How I long,
To be a muse of such great beauty.
Compelling others to stand,
And stare would be my duty.

How I long,
To be so divine.
With you caressing me gently,
my body your shrine.

Alas, I am none of these things,
I'll never be able to call you mine.
For you to not call me yours,
Should be such a grievous crime.
A Whitney Oct 2014
I'm struggling with some things and it makes me depressed as I don't feel in control and I've been staring at the Google home page for a good hour or so now and I'm still no closer to being comfortable in my own skin or figuring out whether I have made the best decisions or if I have quite literally doomed my existence forever.

The Universe part I
A Whitney Dec 2014
You deserve the universe,
And to bask and glow,
Your skin white as snow,
In the gold of the sun.

You deserve the stars,
And to shine and gleam,
With your life a dream,
In the splendour of the sky.

You deserve better,
And to wake each day,
Knowing you're alright,
You're okay.
A Whitney Oct 2014
Today might not be your best,
    Or tomorrow,
    Or the rest,
    But know one day,
    You'll be able to say,
    I'm alright,
    I'm okay.

Not everyone you meet,
    Will be sweet,
    Not everyone you know,
    Will let you go,
    Keep close the best,
    Forget about the rest.

When a new day breaks,
    Don't worry about your aches,
    They won't last forever,
    You know that,
    However,
    This time too won't last,
    Dear,
Blow away those icy leaves of your past.

Release and Realisation
A Whitney Nov 2015
Let him break you
A thousand pieces of your love
Shattered on the earth
Beneath his feet

Let him hurt you
A million knives from his eyes
Thrown into your chest
On the bed you once made love

Let go of him
Your love was made
For greater things
And you deserve the universe

He
A Whitney Nov 2014
He
Never can I quite unravel his intentions,
Though he makes me smile like no other,
With no apparent direction in life,
Still trying to find himself,
And rather philosophically irresponsible.
I could quite easily loath him,
Yet,
*I think I adore him.
A Whitney Nov 2014
The sweet taste you embellished
on the corners of my lips,
soon turned into the bitter
melancholy I taste today,
tomorrow,
forever and,
always.

Self(ish) Reflection
A Whitney Oct 2014
To look upon myself,
What do I see?

I see a collection,
Of unfinished works,
Unwanted bones,
Exhausted little quirks.

Unanswered questions,
Embedding my skin,
Tiresome eyes,
My body growing thin.

Skin so fair,
It's unfair,
I take out the pins,
Out from my hair.

The glimmer of hope,
Behind my left eye,
Encourages me to cope,
Encourages me to try.

I look upon myself,
I pull myself together,
How I wish I could see,
This won't last forever.
A Whitney Oct 2014
Don't look to me,
To complete you.
Don't look to me,
For the answers,
Of the questions swimming in your mind.

Don't look to me,
For a haven to rest your head.
Don't look to me,
To cure your daily pains,
Of loneliness and heartache.

Don't look to me,
Don't look,
Don't look to me,
Look to me,
Look.

So small we are

In this infinite expanse

Time forgotten

When the stars do dance

Light up the sky

Life lit with romance

Woes all forgotten

When the stars do dance

Eyes they glisten

Glowing they enhance

Warmth through your veins

When the stars do dance

My sentences are disjointed,
I can barely unscramble my thoughts.
How on earth my dear,
Do you expect me to unscramble yours?
I still have no idea what goes on in your head.

How quickly a love can turn to hate,
Passion to hostility,
My heart on a plate.

You can't hurt me twice,
My zeal you ignore.
All I feel is ice,
Alas, I love you no more.

My love,
A delicate dying flame.

Already you had left,
My lips stained with your name.

Love is messy,
And you're a mess.
I hold up my hair,
As you unzip my dress.

What happened to us,
Where did it all go wrong?
Catch the taste of regret,
Hitting you with my tongue.
