These tears
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
My daddy warned me
not to stay up late,

But how could I,
how could I,

Not cry,
when the world looks;
so much better inside that screen?

My daddy never told me why,
cause we were too busy crying.

Antisocial
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
I hate social events,
but I'm in the club,
Where they're filling cups,
and throwing up,
Picking up,
and throwing love.
               Who had enough?

While I'm just sitting
talking to nobody,
Feeling like nobody,
drinking until I can't
feel my body,
My eyes are looking
for somebody,
to make me feel like
something,
When I'm feeling nothing.
              Small talk, has me rushing.

Everyone feels like a model,
holding an empty bottle,
With gas in their lungs,
about to hit the throttle,
Kissing their friends,
and fighting couples.
                      I'm about to *****.

I'm feeling extra single,
don't know how to mingle,
with sharp words at the,
Tip of my tongue like a needle.
                  Turned off by a lot of people.

Smiling for my friends,
the one's who misbehave,
Going on a rave,
wanting to go to jail,
Drinking below our age.
                   We're not the same.

Lord forgive us,
for one night stands,
Breaking heart shells
like these peanuts,
We know a lot of those girls,
might actually deceive us,
It won't matter when she's
getting the business.
               Just to feed a *****.

I'm still antisocial for the event,
dragged in by my friends,
When the party began,
God, I wish it would just end,
Spending our weekday bread,
I just want to go home to eat,
and watch some series on my bed.
                      But I'm out here instead.

So if you see the tear
in my red eye,
I'm sad and really tired,
waiting for someone to,
bring up their violence.

Conversation,
are my greatest fear,
I seem to know how,
to only sigh,
Just as,
I've always been wired,
Quietly,
watching you,
Driving the night crazy,
without a licence.

                               And I'm just antisocial.

African child
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
A book inside your eye,
reading pages of your history;
been working on your body,
And living unemployed;
acting like a grown woman,
kissing pretty like an
Innocent girl.

I should take a picture,
just to capture your heart,
cropping out all the issues,
put all emotions on record;
Skins made of golden brown,
so I can taste it's worth,
and my car seat still remembers,
you sitting there, with
all your skinny curves;

Kissing, like I missed you,
grabbing on, like I own you;
But you were never my girl.

Thinking by luck,
I could get a ****, to remember,
a feeling right before,
you go on to hit a long road,
to the places I'll never visit;
Less when I'm going shopping,
a couple Christmas gifts,
long distant kisses, and
all of those future wishes.

Betting we'd miss,
our own wedding day,
skipping the after party,
for another after party. Leave our
guests dancing, grab a piece of cake
just for the extra cream;
So I can eat it,
with you in between;
And call it our perfect wedding.

African child,
we were in love for a while,
living in the moments;
the few tears, and many smiles;
We said our last goodbyes
over a long phone call,

and it's only now,
they ask about you and I.

I'm praying you find better,
and find that perfect guy,
waiting for you, like I couldn't;
And I'll smile for you,
even if it hurts;
Clap for you,
even if it hurts;
And congratulate you both,
even if I can't find the words.

I'll be so proud of you both.
As we all gain something,
when we let go.
African child,
you made me grow before,
during, and the after of
when you were my girl.

                            A thousand thanks.

So endless
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
I am the whisper in nights,
of those made silent;

the echo of tears,
of all gone dry;

the champion of wars,
in all battles lost;

the memory of all,
now long forgotten;

an endless belief,
lost a reason to believe;

                           endless am I,
                           endless is hope.

Humorous
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
So I got robbed
by my shadow last night;

           That's pretty dark.

I threw a steak at a girl;
that's a tender way to meet.
But I got beat with a
hole in my head;

       That's an empty thought.

And she broke my nose
so I couldn't smell;

             Her intentions.

I told her she
was pretty sweet;
and was offered a piece.

                  I bit off her lip.

And I was told;
I belong to the streets;
that's really funny because
I won't allow anyone to;

               Walk all over me.

I don't think she got
what I really meant,
So to seem concrete,
I went on to buy her a bag;

                         Of cement.

Yesterday,
I lost my cool;
writing a surprise exam
yet the test was;

              Such a breeze.

It gave me food for thought,
but I kept on complaining,
because I'm still hungry;

                  And want to eat.

And I laugh so big
at my own jokes,
because I took humour,
and added enormous;

             To make it humorous.

The Pen's flow
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
How to describe the third person,
In third person; while your eyes are
Still ******, to the world' curses:
Who says we're too different, as we
Feel magnificent, but indifferent to
Their efficient, who aren't so innocent.

But we stay vigilant, to feel certain.

Ring, ring,

Goes the call to my head,
Asking if we're heading in the
Right direction, when we're in
Over our head. Could it be red,
Could it be read? To title myself
An open book, as Nowadays it's,

Either bled or blend.

A Cinderella without her feet,
Would she in the end find her Prince?
Or would she be stepped by step sisters;
And each other's many conflicts.

I'd still watch that flick.

A Pinocchio, nosey for the
Smell of flesh. He'd tell a lie,
To get under a dress. But how
Long would he reply on a lie;
To seem like he could impress.

I'd enjoy that, I must confess.

Or if a Snow white, never met a kiss,
But instead remained fast asleep.
Or never really needed a Prince.
But a huntsman, to guard herself,
By teaching her his survival tricks.

That ending kind of fits.

But why do we use made up
Fairy tales, to ferry well, on the
Endless waves of life, just to sail.
We never really measure the details,
Because we're too busy weighing our
Problems on a broken scale.

Pinheads disguised as a nail

Don't miss your step in life,
You could be close to a misstep.
Who'd forget a first cut of a knife;
As you're always on the cutting-edge.
Thinking little of moments, but what if
That little moment had it's last breath.

You'd cherish every little moment instead.

Finally,

Poetic flow, in my pen
Is always a river of words.
Seems to grown into an Ocean,
As you can hear the Waves and Birds.
Smelling the scent of salts,
Weighing heavy on your hearts.
Drowning in my deep thoughts.

Hoping to cross,
To meet the end of my pen.
But perhaps the end is the source,
And the source are thoughts,
You follow along in due course.

A pen of flow at the water's edge;
A building wave,
Prepare yourself for what's ahead.
Ahead of the tip of my pen.
As I don't write words of boys and girls,
This pen held by ten thousand women and men.

                                 The Pen's flow
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
This pen is feeling heavy;
Writing out this weighing letter.

Writing my lyrics to the Heavens;
wondering if they'll get the message.
I won't waste on pretending. It feels
Like you've blocked the entrance.
Often you seem to forget us, as the
Devil is always out to get us.

Given a shorthand,
As it feels little for change.
And it's so sad, what you have left
Is out for game. As we're out for
Gain, straight after we call your name.

My off thoughts, in odds of
Dreaming, screaming in my head;
While battling it's demons. Deep
Thoughts, and their sunken eyes
Inside my hollow pit in my skull.
Trying my best to seem calm, stuck
In the depth of my head, as I won't try
To pretend. In it's dark abyss, a rose
Inside a grave feels more like a
                                Pretty death.

Chest beating, my emotions themselves
Could be bleeding, or leaking.
On this paper I pen wrinkles,
And leave so many stains.

I'm a tyre swing, tired of it.
Rolling over to a newest trend;
Spinning in the wheel of life, going
Round in it's constant circles, as
Everything in it tries to hurt us.

Could you point me out to a purpose.
Showing interest in my life. Truly
You could make a prophet. And let's,
Word out our blessings, instead of
Counting our losses.

I do hope you get this message.

Sincerely signed;

A child down on Earth,
Looking up to Heaven.

And what then, has determined our life' tragic rule?
      O' how this world and it’s people are so cruel
untied shoes laces,
all on the fallen feet,
of all the world’ youth
Lost following trailed
footprints of their fools.
     For you can take a horse to a river, but can’t
force it to drink. As you may lend a man a thought
        But who’s to say, for himself; he’ll learn how to think?

Mixed childhood
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
We're rocking Sunday best
for all of Friday's events,
Calling everyone Auntie & Uncle,
without any of the relations.
       That's how we were raised

Calling some a boss,
mostly those who didn't
even once employ us.
We don't get angry, we just
tell you, you've made us cross.
       That's how we were raised

The adults talk of old days,
telling kids to go outside & play.
Stuck at afternoon tea party dates,
Feeling shy when mums come
with a purse lunchbox;
To take home some of the cakes.
         That's how we were raised

Taking selfies at funerals;
the same adults you never met,
Say the used to change your diapers.
'Don't you remember me,'
that statement seems to be the usual.
         That's how we were raised

Raised mixed in a world
of so many pretty colours.
I got the spice from my mother,
the pride of my father,
And the division from forefathers.

Fitting in with the blacks,
seem relatable with the whites.
But we're not always the same;
if I'm facing the true facts.
       That's not how we were raised

But how I was raised
is never going to change.
With age, you learn to accept,
And for the next-generation;
start a better story on a fresh page.

~Introverted~
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
The depth of the ocean;
feels shallow when we
both jump straight inside.
As it's tears make us cry,
when we see the bluest sky.

And with a spray
paint tan of a smile,
It peels off to pieces in
the Sun's glare, on
the walls of your face.
A child lost in a store of
life's advice, soon
after you let go of a hand.
The united shoe laces,
and red eyes,
pretending not to cry.

Love is too heavy for you to
hold, even on the shoulders
that rests the entire world.
In the songs of anguish,
with unassigned chords.

Chewing on your tongue,
to swallow all it's words.
As all you said was in vein.
You felt hidden under the skins
of a plastic face of your nerves.

You and I, try to find ourselves,
as we lose ourselves ever more.
My mind and I are mislaid,
and lost to thought.

Resting fates, lay on our head' two pillowcases.
All my thoughts all seem fast asleep in bliss.
Who would dare, disturb my best peace?
Darling, I hope they all would know you,
Are the most valuable piece in my entire mind.

Resting face of pure innocence, and her beauty.
You made all of the boys lose feet and chase.
Such a dame, known more for a name,
And games we could play on Sun' day.
I miss you, as you took your last rest.
All I have, is a last scent on your pink pillowcase.

Tears in rain hymn
Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
Dry of  heart
thirsting
for love.

By end' land
across
ocean' sand,
on a tiny raft
crafted
by hand.

Singing a hymn
in tongues
only he
can understand

In calm whispers
his head
is on display
like an ornament
for a
Christmas day.

Christ is quiet
and holds
onto his love
man brushes his
dry lips together
crackling loud!

He is about to
starve.

'Are you in
the sky
empty and dry
can I see you
as Sun stabs
at my eye?'

Still a quiet
response.

Soon end of
day slowly nears
vastness of dust
in place of seas.

Cries of man
cracked of voice
humid air holds
onto his
throat.

Heaven heard
children' cries
shedding her tears
ten thousand tears
kissing on land.

Covering all
with neither
a bit of shy
sweet rain, the
sweetest that ever
came.

both past & present
days of old; days anew:
In a place I call God-

And like God,

Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2021
Tied out laces, dirt on all our faces
We can't fit in with the crowd:
Uneven teeth, dried out lips
Do we ever feel a bit proud?
Empty pockets, plenty of losses
As our problems echo so loud.

They don't see us; as we see them all.

Torn out socks, shoes with rocks
Kicked by the foot of life:
Bleeding noses, and dead roses
Our gardens never survive:
Living divided, we're all misguided
At the edge of a sharp knife.

They don't see us; as we see them all.

Look at us!
They think they're better driving fancy cars,
Look at us!
They think they're better spending chips at bars,
Look at us!
They think they're better buying off the people,
Look at us!
They think they're better treating us less than equals,
Look at us!
They think they're better with their ***' sunlit,
But even if you try to hide it; we all go through some shït.

We are the misfortunate;
Who missed good fortunes
We are ringing in your head?
But do you ever hear us calling?

Falling dominoes.

Roses on your head'
Piercing thorns, sharp thoughts
As I do suppose;
You're open in light' of eyes,
Exposed to the Sun's dust:
Your hard heart; afraid to be'
In water, and turned to rust.

Why do we as kids'
Waste all the time of youth

Pressured to pursue this love.

Because I was told:
Said so, because it felt a role,
Playing each other in an act
Seen by eyes of those who couldn't;

Lessening their time in class.

And what came of heart'

One of worship, other jealousy:
For when the latter grew'
Twas the stone that killed.

So man' sin continued on:

As for it's sake;

For their sins to branch off;
His child placed on wooden Cross.

And so-

Departure
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Please don't burry me a hero'
I was born a simple man-
When I came into this world:
Please don't cry for my absence'
I was more active in the present.

Please don't speak about could have'
When you all should have,
Please don't cry on your knees;
But cry and dance on your feet.

For once I'm gone'
You'll forget me once time is long;
Even if you sing all the songs'
You'll forget me once time is long.

Please don't drag Amazing grace'
You may be sad for my death;
But for all I did in my life'
I'd love a little bit of praise:
And even in my death'
I won't be a fan of-
Long and complicated prayers.

Until my creator calls'
Spend the most of time we got:
Life is a breath away from death'
As we all, don't have a lot.

Remember me well in life'
Not showing off my memories,
For your never did before death:
For in this short life-
The season of remembrance-
Is still now and yet.

Cry more for me now;
For you'll cry less in my death'
Not crying for me,
But crying for all your regrets.

You've torn through my heart'
   (War; War; War;)
Leaving me in love and apart.
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Feel too young to live,
Stuck in all of my old ideas:
On the very seasides-
Wait on time to change its tide.

Its long line of spray-
All the good moments are-
Quiet subtle whispers:
As the worst of them all,
Are a grating roar.

Begin, and cease,
The tides have grown full:
Everything now draws back;
As I feel like a lost pebble,
Without its own direction:

Tremulous, is man's misery;
In their shoreless ocean,
Waiting on the sand, shivering in cold.
Only the brave try-
To swim to the- Ends of eternity,
As children feeling so bold.

Perhaps that time I was bored,
Wondering what's next to come?
Timeless, is life when you're lost-
In all your childish dreams.

With the aroma salts,
Hair lost in the breeze;
I feel so joyously lost at Sea.

Deep, quiet, and alone;
Young, bright, fair, and free:
Only when, it was the younger me.

The ocean's body-
Is a thousand tears,
Of the Earth's greatest guilt:
Pulling me away from dreams;
As her and I are both Blue.

Awful spirits of the deep,
Once took my happiness -
And returned to me filth:

Still at the time, of my youth.
For youth is, so cruel.
But what are we to do,
To only hope we make it through?

God is fair.
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Holes in my shoes; I did trod:
I feel so worn out of the distance,
In this journey of life so long:

Often I laugh at once,
Cry myself to sleep twice in a day:
As tears are a language-
Speaking it in signs;
But only a few can understand:

My soul erodes,
From all that I have to bare;
Still from God, I got my equal share.

Go on airing out people's-
***** laundry;
Could expose your yellow sheets:
Only gets worse when the mattress comes out.
                 You won't sleep.
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Her fairest words not an apology,
Words that bother me, eating her up,
'All that your are is swallowing me; doubting me,
feeling cowardly:' But not what you want to be:
For daily days so hourly, judging men horizontally,
screaming in your head 'acknowledge me,'
'And just apologise to me':

Back when the world was loving,
You for your chest, interests in *******;
They're spending pays on and invest,
Leaving children eggs on your nest:
None of them did impress, but only did undress:
Leaving your hair in a mess, and moving onto the next:
With their sins stealing your bless: To Pastors,
how do you confess? The gave you more,
but made you feel like less:

Child how do you love;
As you're sick of what some of
Them speak of when, they say it's young love?
Taking your portion, and happiest emotions,
Bare on your flesh like erosion,
Rubbing against you like- Their body lotion:

I do try to love you for you,
But can't relate to what you've been through:
They've stuck their hurts on you-
Like glue, more than one time or two:
They used you, abused you, tossed you,
away, straight after they ******* you: Threw you,
Found their release through you: Lining up,
To view you in a-
Queue, fitting their sizes in a small shoe:

I now understand why,
You are who you are in the first verse.
Giving them your worst, from those who
stole your worth: Hands in a bag-
Stealing inside your pursue. So hard for you
To converse, hoping to be anyone else in the entire universe:
I see how it hurts, and how quick you curse:
Told to move forward; trying to have,
All your pains and struggles go in reverse:
They gave you their love by force,
And all of the times it did leave a hurt:
Without remorse, making you their main course.

So as I write this verse,
With tears through the pain of your teen years:
Those darkest moments and your fears. All of those,
Left you after a night shift; shifting their gears:
But I'll try my best dearest sister,
To be right here. When those demons-
Try creeping back in: When the lights are so dim:
But I don't know where you've been,
But I'll share all of your hurts like a twin.

Raise your chin;
Clear you're skin,
And help you fix what's broken from within.

Pen this verse-
For all of them to know;
That you don't have to face the hurt alone:
Don't feel like you're all on your own,
You could be whole, even if the process is slow:
But I'll help piece back together your shattered Soul.
This world is a tragedy in itself, and feels closer to hell. We need to raise those in the darkest pits, who've lost a reason to live.

P.S, this a fictional piece, but with non fictional emotions.

Moment
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
And as a tongue lifts,
The words in between lips form:
As for a moment; do our lies last,
In endurance of our forever,
Do all truthful lips reside:

As I did taste a sense of deceit,
At a touch of lips when we kissed:

Perhaps this is why our love was but a moment.
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
And a rib was pulled from a side,
Soon was molded to be his Lover:
Tiny whispers calling beautiful bride,
Now with my hand so soft and bare,
I tend to land, 'these grounds of heart.'

Lay down my eyes, hoping now to see,
The widest eyes, lookers of everything:
'O, stop looking for perfect fish of the Sea'
Rubbing salt in a wound, that won't heal.

All we are; are two skies far apart,
Longing to be one being and in flesh,
A piece self trading into your heart:
Love was first made, we came second.

Children all of our Adam and Eve,
The seeds of a garden forgotten:
But even as I don't see my paradise,
Darling you'll always be my Eden.

Sagacious
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Even in laughter,
With the brightest smile on display
We only see what's on face;
But at the end of joy-
A heart carries grief,
Listen carefully to hear it's breaks.

Even in accomplishment,
When all cheer on one's success
We only see their gains;
But at the end of fulfilment-
A hand once carried emptiness,
Hold carefully to feel it's regrets.

Laugh, as those around laugh with you;
Smile, as others put a smile on display
Show face, as all others want to be seen;
  But those who shared in your joy-
Are not always equal in all your griefs.

Accomplish, as all feel accomplished with you;
Succeed, and all would want your success
Show gains, as all others want to obtain;
  But those who praise your fullness-
May hold nothing to your emptiness & regrets.

   Leave their, such simple ways,
   Place a footing on all wisdom;
   And walk in the way of insight.

Risqué
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Pretty are eyes;
tickled by the midnight
Lost in the space of time;
to those who gaze into them.

As with a shadow;
that lurks behind innocence
A grey cloud of smoke;
in a set fire of one's risqué.

                       Seems the night let's;
               the light of you come out.

Perceive
Odd Odyssey Poet Oct 2021
Perceive, triest understand love;
      As a child, seeing many try;
As a young adult, I made my attempt
      Following in man's knowledge.

      Spoken, was their love;
Yet with a tongue rolled under itself
      Seen, some have claimed;
But without center of an apple's eye.

      Some do hid to mind;
But quickly listen to heart's feeling
      As only a few;
Hold truth, facing love's grip trap.

      One by one we fall,
Into the deepest parts of love
      For a large and long,
Number of us at a time fell in love.

      A nose dead cold;
Running it through snow
      At the highest of emotions,
But no being can subdue its drug.

      For love is many,
Beautiful, tragic, joyous, painful
      Maddening, sentimental, wicked
Ignorant, wholesome, challenging.

      But what then is love,
If not perceived as all understood?
