"skittles" poems
~Modesty & Respect has been lost and now the tears are too hot to turn into frost~ ◄►◄►◄►◄► Sickness in the mind is revised As the eyes are revealed to a non-existing surprise Pretending that the colorful pills are sweet tasting skittles While tears forms into a spiraled riddle Generations are messed up because good-teachings are slack So in the young minds rightfulness lack There is peace even if chaos may seem to consume In dark tunnels a dim light will soon loom But if you perceive To conceive Not to believe Then tell me how will you ever achieve? Life is not a game, but a vivid reality So save every special moment of sensuality Remember that you are an instrument Play your life story, sing your mind, and bleed your words out loud with contentment You’re not useless Humanities truths…believe every single bit of it, release your stress Strength lies within your heart You’re such a beautiful sculpted art Do the opposite of what depression tells you, you won’t lose Your fate lies in each choice you make, carefully choose Your future is the next moment Make each obstacle your stepping stone and then you can easily avoid torment Then spectral corruption Will never be able to destroy your inner emotion ◄►◄►◄►◄►

craving
i will never know the black mother’s ache, but i imagine that if the phrase “adding insult to injury” had a feeling, that would be it. i will never know the black mother’s ache, but i imagine that it sounds like “hands up, don’t shoot,” like “i can’t breathe,” like blood hitting a pavement that seems as though it was built to catch those droplets. i will never know the black mother’s ache, but i imagine that it tastes like skittles and arizona tea, four years old but still carrying the fresh sting of a wound just opened. i imagine that it tastes  like history repeating itself, like seeing your son or daughter recycled each week on every news report, on every tv station. each time it is a different body,  but it is always the same hand pulling the trigger, the same black blood being spilled, the same cries left unheard; we shout “black lives matter” and yet, still, they cut them too short. i will never know the black mother’s ache, but i imagine that it looks like a web of lies too thick to cut through —  every strand another weapon that he did or did not have, another order that he did or did not follow, another sin that he did or did not commit; the only black they care about is the color of the ink they use to draw your angel-headed boy a set of horns. i imagine that it looks like evidence hidden, like sparknotes-type skim-throughs labeled “thorough investigations,” like another unindicted officer walking freely atop the cries of those  who charged into a battle they knew they would, but hoped they would not, lose. a battle they have fought too many times before. i imagine that it looks like an empty chair at the dinner table, like cold-blooded ****** disguised as justice with the help of a blue hat and a badge. i will never know the black mother’s ache, but if you listen closely enough, you can hear it in every cautious goodbye she says to her children whenever they leave the house, or in the silence that those goodbyes used to fill. can you hear it? you will have to push past the shouts of the big bold letters that they want you to believe. somewhere, somewhere in there, a black mother’s heart is crying. it is a gentle, hushed cry  that the world does not want to hear. but the tears are still just as wet. the black mother’s ache (a poem for alton sterling, or whichever fallen black name applies at the time you read this)

you are beautiful. you are tragically beautiful. you are notre dame at night. you are the eiffel tower amidst bombshells. you are the house of commons and the house of lords. you are the lone beam standing after Katrina. you are the one baby sea turtle who makes it off the beach. you are the dark side of the moon. you are the patch of sand struck by lightning. you are the remains discovered after the plane goes down. you're a smooth puddle in a parking lot. you are the creaky stair that warns of intruders. you are all of the red skittles. you are Job 3:14.

Job 3:14
Once upon a time was a girl named Candy Sweet as a flower and loved all so much. She was granted a wish by a fairy named Mandy that turned into candy all that she touched. The town was filled with the sweets of Candy the rocks and the houses and bicycles too. Candy would say that the world was just dandy! parading the streets in her candy suede shoes. But everything ends and also for Candy when all that she touched would turn into sweets. Realising a candy-lover's not handy she walked alone on candy-cobbled streets. And loneliness came like a night over Candy crying skittles she soon went insane. She cursed the wish she was granted by Mandy as she crumbled and cracked like a candy cane. For the rest of the year the children ate candy the rocks and the houses and bicycles too. The children would say that the world was just dandy and the last sweet they shared was a candy suede shoe.

Being weird is important to me. I find it's a gift because it means that you are different than everyone else. I know I am weird because not very many 9th girls have my hairstyle. I say weird things. Instead of saying, what's up, I say "wasabi". I tell corny jokes. I'm weird because I like hugs and not very many teenagers like hugs. I'm weird because I eat olives and sunflower seeds, for snack. I'm weird because I believe in fairy tales characters like mermaids, fairies and unicorns though people tell me that they're not real. I'm weird because I'd rather read a good book than watch T.V. I'm weird because I have at least 20 nerd glasses and 5 snap backs. There are so many ways to be weird. I'm the weirdest person I know so I'll use myself as an example. I know I'm weird because not very many girls have dreads at 14 years old. I also say weird things. Instead of "what's up? "I saying "wasabi". I also tell corny jokes that I know aren't funny like, what did the penguin say when his friend asked "why did you slap me? ! " He said, ¨I didn't slap you, I high fived your face." It's not all that funny is it ….Thats why its weird to say it. I'm weird because I like to give hugs to show someone I care, but others only do that with boyfriends and girlfriends. A ****** like me might have a fairytale land of their own, where fairies, mermaids and unicorns live. I have a fairytale land of my own, full of candy canes and gumdrops, fairies, mermaids and unicorns. I have a black unicorn with a green and neon yellow horn, green tail, and a neon yellow mane. His name is Lucky. His favorite snack is Skittles and, his favorite food is graham crackers. His favorite drink is strawberry milk. We have dinner under my tree full of hearts. I'm weird because all that I just said is childish, but I don't care. A ****** like me might rather read a good book than watch television. A ****** like me might have twenty pair of nerd glasses and five snapbacks. A ****** like me might not wear dresses, skirts, or shorts. A ****** like me might write books and poems.A ****** like me might fall on purpose to make someone laugh. A ****** like me might like school. A ****** like me might stare into space without noticing. I do this five times a week for at least two minutes; weird right. A ****** like me may dance, sing, or look up at the sky randomly without knowing. I'm me and you're you. I'm not you and you're not me. So, please don't judge weirdo's for being who they are because they're gonna be them and you're gonna be you because that's how its suppose to be. So how weird are you? I bet it is not weirder than me.

yellow skittle
You smile when you see me writing tenably watching like a child when I turn my prose into rhyming I smile back: "this one's about you" when I kissed you this morning I suddenly realized you taste just like fruit. Like a Pineapple, of all things considered sweeter than a whole bunch of grapes your skirt flaunts your skittles and your legs take the proverbial cake Piña Colada to go with my Enchilada pretty please let me taste the rainbow? I don't like Pineapple on my burger on my pizza I don't feel it either my taste buds become a bitter turbulent river but I just love it on you, that little thing that you do dancing in that lil' grass skirt make it our own Hawaiian Luau. Your juicy lips are a 100% from concentrate like drinking from a can of Dole blowing me a kiss, giving me a smooch please drown me in them a Pineapple falls ways far from an Apple and SpongeBob lives in one of them. From your eyes to your thighs I think of way back when my favorite fruit in the garden you humbly became it's been just peachy from there on end. With the words we shared as we laid in the hay your laughter intoxicated my lungs right down to my pores and through my veins and that's a good thing always a good thing put your hair up the mirror loves a silly face your sly smile for the camera my photogenic exotic babe. Endangered in this world you are the only one of your kind like an extinct Dodo Bird please stay by my side and let me one thing in you confide that the forbidden fruit wasn't an Apple alas, unknown to Adam it was a Pineapple.

Not eating chocolate covered cherries and strawberries and lychees and onions and chillies and grapes and marshmallows and turtle meat and cake and shark bones and oysters and camel and beef and beef with dog food and rabbit fur and smarties and skittles and twine and rope and yak and buses and buffalo and authors and novels and chipping containers and bicylces and emus and penguins and polar bear slippers and darned socks and stewed lobster and Darwin Deez and get well cards and ibuprofen tablets is fine with me.

List of things not to eat with chocolate by Nathan Douglas Day the elephant whisperer
There’s a place, where licorice vines have climbed, Deep in the night, that only children can find; Where leaves of waxed paper on trees are hung, And what grows on the branches is sweet to the tongue. Garlands of butterscotch, chocolate, and mint, In their bright wrappers, sparkle, and glint; Bubbling springs of sarsaparilla, through the valley are poured, Washing sugar beaches with reeds of sour chord. Swedish fish swim in soda geysers with bliss, While fizzing pop-rocks spurt, spittle, and hiss. Sunset clouds of cotton candy sweep past in the sky; Trees sway in the delicious breeze that smells like apple pie. Skies will rain down skittles, when there is a storm, Pelting molasses window panes in a giant swarm; Sour gummi worms are dug up, free to take, In the grainy, nutmeg layers of the coffee cake. Carmel creams, Mary Janes, Black Jacks, and Almond Joys, Coconutties, Jawbreakers, Carmel Rolos and Long Boys-- All these grow, in lines straight as peppermint sticks, Planted in brown sugar, on fields of cinnamon toothpicks; But when the sun lets out its first ray, The entire land just melts away And children don’t remember where they’ve been, That whole night asleep, but they wake with a grin; And through the whole day, their dreams will entice, Until they visit again, the Land of Sugar and Spice. 8/9/11

Sugar & Spice
the collar on my jacket is frayed but I have clothes on my back (just) the packaging is white with green print but I have food in my belly (of sorts) the soles talk and leak when I walk but I have boots on my feet (for now) so I’m OK (I suppose) ***** deep into the Smart Price ™ life this man, his daughters, his son and his wife where all their food comes at discounted price expired meat and rationed heat sweepings and fat wrapped in plastic the walk was wholly unexpected, but it was easy leaving the town where the forward leaning walkers were the slowest thinking talkers steeped in sugary urgency, and all the way we **** giltterballs and Skittles

Small Mercies (Are Relative)
Giggles escape between her fingers, she breathes warm gold air, and lets pink clouds melt on her tongue. On a friday afternoon she paints her nails black and they dry pink. With her pretty pinky claw she lines up her rainbow of skittles and lives in each colour for a moment... Red blooms on her favourite feather lenses sweet Orange coats her tongue and teeth warm gentle Yellow caresses her soft skin fresh vibrant lively Green fills her lungs dark seductive Blue vibrates in her ears dangerous Violet spins her, her glasses fall Black holds her tightly, she gives in. On a saturday morning her black nails scratch at the foreign bracelet on her wrist. Squinting in the harsh light, she gropes blindly for her favourite sunglasses.

Dream-Catcher Sunglasses
I only know how to love you in ways that hurt, that feel like scraped knees and dropp i n g skittles on the floor, stubbed toes, ****** nose, chest x-ray came back negative because I gave everything that was in there to you so they had nothing to see in the doctor's office. My heart was never really mine to have, anyway.

fourty-five fridays later
You may think Halloween's great But it's the one holiday that I really hate All the little sweet-toothed children Always forget to brush their teeth Even the one's that normally floss When it's me vs. the candy, I've traditionally lost Oh Halloween, I despise you And all the cavities you bring The SweetTarts and the lollipos Caramel apples with nuts on top Hershey's and Reese's Skittles and all their sugary pieces M&M;'s and Snickers Why don't we just give out stickers?! Jolly Ranchers and Gummi Bears Instant cavities, everywhere! So when October comes to an end I wait for the patients they're sure to send Filling after filling after filling Children crying while I'm drilling I don't like it, despite the business it provides On the night of October 31st, I always hide Not wanting to fuel the tragedy that always ensues I hate Halloween, I really, really do.

Dentist's Lament
Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, I'd die if you'd leave me. Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, You are mine, only mine. Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, Rainbow Dash is here. Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, I'll go get the beer. Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, And the skittles. Flutter Shy, Flutter Shy, Wanna taste my rainbow?

Flutter Shy
Her belly swollen like a mother should be. I ask her every morning "my dear how much candy did you eat because your SO gosh **** sweet?" I love her because my flower is growing as we speak inside her. Her skin is so clear and all a glow, the color of a hershey kiss. A hershey kiss that I would kiss over and over again. Her eyes are so round and bright like two big dark chocolate whoopers. Two big dark chocolate whoopers that I love getting to the coconut center. Her hair so bouncy and thick, just like cotton candy. Cotton candy that will be passed down to our little ginger bread man. And oh her smile, you could never forget, so bright and lively like skittles, oh what I would do taste the rainbow once more. She is MY sugar mama, I would never trade her for the universe. Baby I love you and baby I love OUR baby.

Sugar Mama
Barnacles crunch like fast food under your sneakers, my gnawed-on boots. We pass over cat-eyed shards of glass still spicy with beer bubbles and still fizzy with teen rebellion; It molds like an infection here. In a town nicknamed "Little Norway." ~ This place hoards candy-colored suburbia in its pockets. Houses like skittles weigh down its pants and it belches out tourist traps weaker than expired pepsi, yet it still manages these moments where I can trot by your gazelle legs and blast Julie Andrew's confidence. And I want to heap myself on the oyster shells, say STOP Put this moment in a snowglobe, sigh into it before we move on, do anything before the wind whips it away. Etch it into your hand if you have to. But breeze dimples the water like a golf ball and rips at the seams of the shore. Please don't forget me when you leave.

It's safe to say we talk about Everything
Today I was alone I didn't go to school I stayed sick at home Under my own rule The day went by too slow But then it went too fast Doing nothing I now know Something I want to last It is now the evening The sun no longer shine I'm sitting here and reading While feasting on skittles and wine

her.
Her spirit shines of skittles The flavors you taste on a tropical island Her soul is made of the first blanket of snow Cold, but gleams so delightfully in the sunlight When I look at her this is what I see Something that I could never be She’s a magnet to the people around her Fixed like a child to their mother A fire so easily contained She cannot be tamed Nor does she belong in a cage The purest warmth you cannot disobey I promise not to control it I promise I won’t try to tame it The fire inside of me is abstract to yours It’s already ignited a forest to flames A monster that I created A fog rampant all around me Rehabilitate my spirit Teach me how to add color to my bleak existence

It has came apparent that Bardstown Ky. Is now being infested with this sickness. Now this sickness is one of the worse of all times. For no one is safe.         The Sickness of Skittles. Her sickness effect everyone as she is walking. For that smell that comes from her deep, wide hole.         For the wind that blows with her every step.         For when she spreads her legs ever so wide, Giving it all to you. For that yellow and green fluid that is oozing from her wide ***** That is now all over your hands and your mouth. For that is not her cuming. For that is the start of her sickness         For that smell you are smelling, no that is not from a busted rotten egg. For that is the smell of the sickness that lives with inside her beat up *****          Her ***** has turned black, thats from where she is no longer human anymore for the sickness as taken over. What is that sharp pain. The pain that feels like the snake bit entering you. Thats the sickness, For it is now entering into your vain now           You say you want to see this sickness. Well just grab you a flashlight, Now slowly slide your head inside her black dark hole. For i must warn you now to beware of the things you might find inside there. The things the sickness has not yet digested yet. Now for your safety do not remove the toys, or the Pepsi bottles that could still be inside there.             Now i do ask if you find a webcam in there. Please grab that. For i am needing that back.              NOW hurry before the sickness eats you. For believe  me i have escaped This SICKNESS of SKITTLES *****             That is now infesting my ex- best-friend

This is for all my battle buddies, HOOAH! Serving in Iraq, Serving in Afghanistan. With a grainy, sandy, hot, and humid desert surrounding you. Looking into miles of nothing. Always ready, always on patrol, ready to roll. Ducking your head to re-load in the middle of the firefight. Taking a stand against the evils of the world. To my battles with integrity, We all bleed the same, Fighting for freedom of the Red, White, and Blue Live green die green Scream it with me at the top of your lungs: HOOAH! Soldier people; This for all the clowns that play Video Games Talking that 1337 (LEET) speak Owning some newbs for fun Screaming at the little kids that they **** I’m taking on the girls 1 versus 1 Passing by the hours staring at the screen Drinking Mountain Dew, and eating skittles Sniping people with your M4, Blowing them up as they walk through the door Gamer people; This is for all my Tech-y nerds Working with computer components Make sure you stay grounded We don’t want an electrical eruption I hated Network Theory, But I still didn’t get a B. The “have you tried restarting,” people. Surfing the Internets, refer to Wikipedia people. Tech people; This is for all the Snowboard bums, We ride hard, but still chill Jumping in front of the skiers for a mighty thrill We do it for an Adrenaline rush Boardin’ through the trees, And the snow that is white and plush Snowboard people; This is for all the Music lovers That let the beat move their souls Bumpin’ to the rhythm Dancing out of control Let the beat take you away Fist pump yourself into the night, Even though I can’t dance, ‘cause I’m White. Music people.

Skittles 'Wonder'
I paint the world with the colors of my creativity. I emit a prism of optimism, and a rainbow of joy. Bright blues, and exciting electric green, Green forests of my envy over the mountains in my mind. Dancing purples over frolicking yellows, and mauve, when I'm feeling a little cheeky. I skip through my life sparkling like glitter. It's more fun, you know, to be carefree and full of joy. Not to worry about the grey clouds that hover over other's heads. But then you remind me, again, that the world is not black and white, but shades of grey. Is it worth it to waste my colors on the colorblind?
