Which church corner should I go to
which is safe with green lights?
It seems every one has glue and goo
rays of sun and dark of night.

Being a follower - not my big skill
not comfy on the disciple ship
but I’m hungry and want my fill
trying to get God in my grip.

But I keep finding him all over the place
can’t capture and save him just for me
see him in a cat’s and a child’s face
he won’t be my prisoner.  He is free

like his forgiveness and open heart.
So this ship is one I might board
the ship of joy about to depart
the cost of this trip I can afford.
I write this in response to something I read in Dietrich Bonhoffer’s book, The Cost of Discipleship.

I do not identify myself as a black american
I do not identify myself as an activist
I do not identify myself
As anything other than what I am
Do not arbitrate my existence
It will only magnify your bigotry
Do not lecture me
It will not ratify your ministry
Do not objectify my identity
Do not marginalize my sincerity
I know your criticism
It will not dwindle me
I am defiantly deaf to it
It will not compute
Trust me
It will only intensify
What I occupy
Do not subject me to anomaly
Do not try and direct me
I will not comply
Do not concern yourself
with my essentiality
I am not lost
Do not concern yourself
With what defines me
Just ask
If I am willing and able.

Boys and girls of every creed,
Wouldn't you rather fight than believe?
Take our hands and refuse to die,
Come with us to The Outside.

This is The Outside.
It's our world, and everybody bleeds,
It's the place where we can be free.

I am the one with the ice cold glare,
A blink of my eyes can freeze the air.
I am the one with the demon soul,
My heart torn by choice and my spirit unwhole.

The Outside is where we call home,
Once you know, you can never go.

I am the one with the needle in my skin,
Lethal injection brings the feeling within.
I am the one with the opened up arms,
Hope and discretion disguised by the scars.

It's our world, and nobody understands,
But that's okay, we just do what we can.

I am the one with the sightless eyes,
Can't see through my enemy's lies.
I am the one with the cut-out tongue,
Words trying to escape are trapped in my lungs.

The Outside is where we call home,
Once you know, you can never go.

"I've always felt like a yellow skittle in a sea of red skittles."

"what a coincidence. yellow skittles happen to be my favorite flavor of skittles."

"ok."*

*"ok."
// you're my favorite flavor //

It is the craziest of minds that cannot sleep

It tries to forget
To write of it is madness
But still it does
It tries not to see
To draw of it is madness
But still it does

There is no rationale for remembrance

It tries not to feel
To love it is madness
But still it does
It tries not to desire
To touch it is madness
But still it does

It is the destruction of the standards of dignity

It tries poise
To cry is madness
But still it does
It tries life
To **** itself is madness
But still it does

It is the craziest of minds that hurts itself

It tries to accept
To reject is madness
But still it does
It tries to conform
To deviate is madness
But still it does

I'm word dribbling my own vision
My vision of a non conformist
Sleeping in the mud
A sign of peace and love
This man is being beaten with his own shoes, what shoes ?!
His dying from madness
Is anyone there ?!!!
Humans they see ,but just they sit and watch
Blood and tears
They soak it up, they love it
They feed off it but enough is enough
Tunnel vision is all I see, on a mission to what ?
Slavery ? To join the herds of sheep that pass my way ?
No we can't
We need our say!!!!

Alas magic is not true
Once, it was to me
But then I met you
And you stole the magic so quickly

Put high on a shelf
Behind steel bars
Trapped in a jar
The magic left myself
Magic is our individuality. And the you is Society.  It takes our special magic and makes us plain and normal. Trapping those who refuse to conform in institutions as "insane"
