I am not at fault. I didn't do anything wrong. Why am I being treated as though I did? Stop it with the pity and the shame. I am not ashamed. I don't need pity. Especially not yours. Life is messed up, but I am not. One in five. one in five. ONE IN FIVE One in five LGBTQ+ people have been mistreated because of their ****** orientation. It's not that hard to find these statistics. Look it up. Look up anything about LGBTQ+ people and I'm sure you'll find mistreatment. I'm sure you'll find harm. I'm sure you'll find that they harm themselves. Because they feel at fault. It's not their fault that they feel a common emotion towards another person you, selfish, close-minded.. mmm. No. Four in five. four in five. FOUR IN FIVE Don't talk about it. The way they were mistreated. If you don't really get that If you can't  really fathom that Almost all of them Almost every single one of these people that have been mistreated don't even talk about it they don't reach out they don't tell anyone NEARLY HALF of LGBTQ+ people in school are bullied Are mistreated Are hurt Are mocked Are called names *** ****** *** In school. Yeah, bullying happens all the time over stupid **** All the time. Wearing glasses, looking different, being gay. I get it. It happens. Whatever. Nearly half. The death penalty is either ‘allowed’, or evidence of its existence occurs, in 8 countries In more than half the world, LGBT people may not be protected from discrimination by workplace law Most governments deny trans people the right to legally change their name and gender from those that were assigned to them at birth Between 2008 and 2014, there were 1,612 trans people were murdered across 62 countries - equivalent to a killing every two days A quarter of the world’s population believes that being LGBT should be a crime" Oh hey, just some statistics. Isn't that interesting. Isn't it cool to take a step back and check that out. That's pretty crazy huh? Pretty outrageous. But, you know, maybe if you weren't such a *** I did nothing wrong. I tried to stop it. I tried. But how can you stop Doing What Is Natural. People are hurting People are dying People are being killed People are killing themselves Stop it with the pity and the shame. We are not to blame.

I woke up, panic attack in full swing. This wasn't right. He wasn't supposed to win. This wasn't supposed to happen! Morning call to my best friend, we're sobbing into each other's phones. We fear. We fear because we're not cis or heterosexual. We fear for our brothers, sisters, and siblings lacking a title. I fear for what will become of the country I live in. I promise I wouldn't stand for my country's flag any more as long as he is our "president". I can't respect someone who is accused of ****** a 13 year old girl. He is no man, he was a joke for the Internet to feed off of, until it became too serious and real. Until the day youths of the LGBTQ+ community woke up terrified for their lives because his Vice President would favor having a dead child rather than a gay child, until the day Muslim women questioned if they should wear their hijab anymore because they feared retaliation for their religion from xenophobes, until the day the the chance of hate crimes seemed like a more likely answer for bigots because someone isn't white, until the day laughs of mockery turned into tears of fright. This monstrosity may only be with us for four years, but a hell of a lot can happen in four years. I don't trust this person to run our country, I don't feel safe. I feel exposed and abandoned by the rights I was promised. I wish to join hands with everyone else who is in my position, and let this sink in until the day in January comes, where he gets his wish, and is finally in control.

All these kids, They cry, Scream, And ***** "I WANT FREEDOM FROM MY PARENTS!" That simple freedom does not concern me. I want freedom, but not just from my parents so I can stay out late. I want freedom, From my peers, From my family, From the government, And from myself. I want to be free to walk down the halls, Hand in hand with a girl, Who I'm in love with. I want to be able to do that, With no fear in my heart. No worries or names called, Or punches thrown. I want that freedom. I want the freedom to be able to bring a girl home, And show her to my parents, And tell her how much I love her, In front of them. I want to be able to talk to my mom, About relationship problems, About the GIRL who broke my heart, But I cant. I want the freedom to marry. To marry any person I choose, No matter the gender. Male, Or female, It should not matter. My happiness, And the way I spend my life, Is not something that should be voted on, By those with half a brain. I want freedom from myself, To accept me, And be who I am, Without any shame. But I can't do that, Unless I have the freedom from others, To be me, And be happy with that. I want the freedom to be gay. Some may complain, That the gays are already free, Too much maybe. But that is not the case. We're not persecuted, But we're not free. All throughout history there has been movements for freedom. There was one of religious freedom, When puritans came to the New World from Britain. A war was started, And freedom came out with a victory. There was one of freedom for slaves, So that they could live the lives they wanted, And not have to be owned, And treated like property, By another human being. Once again, A war was started, And the slaves were freed. There was one of freedom for women, So that women could be the same as men, Equals. There were marches, And protests, And women rights came out on top. There was one of freedom for those of color, So that they can mix, And mingle, With the race that whites thought was superior. There were marches, And sit ins, Protests, And brawls, But guess who won in the end? We are working towards freedom of LGBTQ, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning/queer, And one way or another, We will eventually get our freedom. Look at all these past freedom movements, There were always two sides to it. Which side are you on? Is it the right one? This is not the land of the free and the home of the brave. This is the land of the *** ******* cowards, And the home of the "You can be free, if we allow it." I think its about time we either lived up to our motto, Or changed it.

In a class, I'll sit and listen they'll explain that I have no rights as a member of the LGBTQ+ they'll say, with pride of their skin, black lives DON'T matter- all lives do. I'll sit here, OH YES, I'll sit and listen they'll talk about girls being ugly talking about how there are only two genders and I'll sit here relating women to paintings, weaving them into my poems, slightly pouting and confused with my lack of their said gender. Sighing, I will sit here and listen as they repeat the things I've heard my entire life and I'll bite my tongue, though not really a look will pass by, rage seeps through pores I'll leak liquid anger until the toxins correct their rotten brains I know I should say something, but there are tons of them and only micro-me. Weak. I'll sit here, and I will listen to them as we all eagerly await the bell Save us. we're far apart, so my mask is off now, but when it sounds, when it promises peace RING RING RING I will stand, turn, and Black Lives Matter will be almost as prominent as a tattoo on my face, the phrase will melt, it will stick, it will attach to my mouth and say scream sing the words that I cannot. and I'll keep Sydney's hoodie on as my bulletproof vest, her chain against my heart understanding that THIS IS NOT A CHOICE Why would I ever choose the pain I went through for this? only to go home, and hear more from my step-father, with the victimizing mother actings as if it never happens

The Usual.
Is it right to be judge just because we like different opposite ***  we hear this everyday talking about we gonna to sin just because we like what we like and I love they way I'm and I don't care if society Judge us who are you just because I proud lesbian/ stud and it's doesn't make any sense to me no more just caused people don't agree with us and tearing me apart but oh well. Being in a world that people judge you because of your choice of clothes you wear and how you want to wear it cause that make you comfortable being you and not worried about what society have to say. Being proud of yourself. Being part of the LGBTQ Community is a great thing to be in cause there is a alot of Iove that they show us for being ourself and nobody else can't change that cause we are comfortable in our own skin and being happy because we found who we are and what we like. I'm glad that I found out what I like and what I don't like for years cause I was scare what will society will think of me being a lesbian cause we get judge all the time for liking female and not men cause it's a sin for liking them but I don't care what society thinks cause I'm glad that I'm in the LGBTQ Community.

Lately I've been a little moody I get triggered by comments made on a video or a tweet or the supposed leader of our nation spouting his views on ****** assault victims.... The real victims....men and boys that are being accused of a horrible act Innocent yet treated like they're guilty. Please, don't get me wrong. Being falsely accused is terrible. Any one guilty of it should be held liable. But, after all of the victims, women and men alike coming forward to tell their stories, he speaks on behalf of the accused.....Am I stupid for being angry? What really disappoints me are the people that get upset when women react to such insensitive views. They tweet or comment and I try to have conversations with these people and end up screaming into a pillow! I walk away wondering if it's worth my time to make my point of view understood. Will I ever change any ones mind? It's the black lives matter vs all lives matter struggles all over again! The argument of should players stand for the anthem! Why don't people understand that saying black lives matter doesn't mean ONLY black lives matter, it's a way of saying Please remember!!! Black lives matter TOO! Stop the hate!!! People of color are being discriminated against and we are tired. So finally a man decides to protest by calmly taking knee during the anthem aaaaannnd......here HE comes to manipulate the meaning of it all and makes it about disrespecting the flag and our troops. And don't even get me started on gay rights! To be treated like second class citizens is ludicrous! How fantastically absurd to be told by your own government that you cannot marry the person you love! And because life has to be just a little more unfair the LGBTQ community are at high risk for ****** assault and hate crimes too! I realize none of this is new....I guess the Kavanaugh hearing triggered me and I can't seem to get it off my mind. I heard Dr. Ford's testimony and watched as so many people, including the man himself, come with more and more ****** excuses and a half *** investigation and in the end he sits on the supreme court any way. I'll do my duty....I'll use my voice and vote, but I live in a red state and I know it's an up hill battle. One that may be lost. But I've said my piece. If you've read through it all, thank you. If you agree with me, keep fighting. If you don't, I respect your opinion, but I'll never understand it.

Dear people, I wanted to create a group chat with people from the LGBTQ+ community on Hello Poetry, A place where we can share our problems, seek advice, give tips and talk. A chat where people can find support and people who they can identify with. The group is open to join, I used the application called Kik. The name of the group is: HelloPoetryLGBTQ+

Dear LGBTQ+
When the Earth was spinning, All vacant and wasted, And a voice that came thundering, All the poison, that you all tasted, And all the one left, now unwashed, hearing nothing but silence, becoming the one's who suffered, when all the believers, died, and the non believers, survived, the destruction of the planet, hatred heated by a human cannon. Now who will pray for Babylon, When humanity acts upon, Now, Who will sing for Babylon, When Humanity is the Evil Spawn, Now who will pray for Babylon, Amon of the breath and Air, Amon, where is Thebes, Now, Who will sing for Babylon, Humanity, Governments, Religion, Black, LGBTQ Communities, Planting the Evil Seeds. When the Earth was spinning, All vacant and wasted, Adam and Eve was created, To love and be Mother Earth, Father Dearest, Forbidden Fruit that sent you, to Hell, Oh Adam, You're the Devil, Lucifer, Adam, Did you heard the snake voice, Why did you follow the advice, To pick and eat, Do you live in all of us, Do we eat, to become Deceit. When the Earth was spinning, All vacant and wasted, Everything is our posion, Welcome Poseidon beside us, Say Hello Pontius, God in our heads, Run to the Waves of that the tide tends, In foul disposition trends, As we welcome all our catasthrophes, All the hate, all the lies, All our devine that we hide in Denial, Suicidal Kings and Queens, Here our Heresy, Maybe Religion is a win, Maybe it just a way of sin, All I know it just a linchpin of support, Belief and stability, Belief and hatred, Maybe Communities in it to win it, to scream and fight and hit back, False Flag, Attack that, Found Guilty through entrapment, Of our commandments, You're cooperation is commended, Since the corporation demands it. Now who will pray for Babylon, When humanity acts upon, Now, Who will sing for Babylon, When Humanity is the Evil Spawn, Now who will pray for Babylon, Amon of the breath and Air, Amon, where is Thebes, Now, Who will sing for Babylon, Humanity, Governments, Religion, Black, LGBTQ Communities, Planting the Evil Seeds.

you cannot be at the summer cookout eating chips, with my mom’s famous seven layer dip and say “i just want the beans, thanks” while with your ***** finger you push off the - delicious, might i add - 4 cheese mexican blend wipe off the sour cream onto the side of the dip bowl pick the strands of lettuce off of your Tostino’s Scoop before you are satisfied enough to savor that bite. no. you will take your chip and you will dunk it and get a piece of every single layer you cannot pick and choose which ingredients to eat out of a dish that has already been made but this is not the family cookout this is oppression. this is to all my women who support gender equality and claim to be feminists yet belittle and dehumanize our transgender sisters. one less safe space. this is to all my white people who believe in LGBTQ rights but are "all lives matter" and the moment someone brings up racism, you tell them racism doesnt exist. this is to my best friend, who is an activist of ending all of the above. yet, who pulls my sleeve and says, “look how fat that woman is i can NOT believe she went out in that.” you cannot pick and choose when it comes to equality. you can not eat the seven layer dip and go for the beans while ignoring the rest. accept. acknowledge. listen. change. try a bite of the dip with all the seven layers i promise it will taste even better than before.

SEVEN LAYER DIP
Diss the rainbow, show a finger to the parades, the many words of happiness and encouragement to the LGBTQ community; grumble as much as you please and go rot in your little cave of solitude while the rest of the world celebrates **one small step for humanity; a massive leap for us all.** No matter what negativity you have to spread, (especially all you shameless people grouching about other countries while you do absolutely nothing to make a change), your hate makes no difference, for ‪#‎LoveWins‬.

Letters jumbled, Here and there on a keyboard, Looking through our code to see where the error is, the truth is you cant find a mistake if it never existed. We were just programmed differently, the error was all along in a mirror when you look up and understand. Most of you looking at the white light while we already passed through the prism. It was never about leaving the closet, we were forced into it, never been allowed to touch the *** of gold. Roads diverged but my options are more than two, our orientation isn't a highway but that doesn't mean we don't belong on the road. They tell me opposites attract but I fell in love on the same side of the pole and sometimes on both sides of the pole. Religious men telling me Santa doesn't like mistakes but if you look aside your blinders, your God made me. Stuck between the door with a skirt and a pant, some forget I'm still questioning if I look good in a pant or a skirt. Letters in a straight line, they push us to get in line and choose a road but we like to wander and wander we will.

*What the hell is up with the assassination attempts towards LGBTQ+ community? what did they even do? I mean, why hate someone for being different, why try and **** someone for being gay, or, bi, or transgender? or whatever they associate themselves as? like it just baffles me how much hate and animosity this world has, if someone is different, let them be different, because we all have differences and that what makes us the same, we're human beings and should be treating each other as such, I have friends that are gay, and bi, and I'm a straight guy myself, but you don't see me treating them any different, I respect them and they respect me, at the end of the day, it's all about love, respect and character, when did we turn a blind eye towards those values and morals? it's just crazy the amount of hatred and violence this society will stoop to....*

Orlando, Florida (Not A Poem)
If you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and you are still looking for home, trust me, there are good people out there who will accept you for who you are. Sometimes, you just have to find them. I promise you, we are out there and we can't wait to meet you.

Happy Pride Month!
When I attempt to think about my future, I know I can't. I know, I can only do what I can now to piece together my future like a puzzle. I want to get on T, I want to cut my hair shorter than my parents allow, I want more body modifications, I want to have a completely flat chest, but at the moment, I can't imagine what I'd turn into. A butterfly I'm not able to picture yet. I am at the moment, a small catapillar, not being able to pass for the gender I wish. She's. Hers'. That's not what I want directed towards me. I wants he's and they's. Male and neutral term are what I want my friends to use. Not my birth name, Kit. Kit Lucas Zachary is what I'll become when I get older and scrounge the money together to make that change possible. I must change myself and bold myself into what I want to be happy, even if that means I lose people, I can deal. If they don't agree with how I feel, they don't need to be in my life anyway. I can't say that I'm a boy yet, I can't say I'm pansexual yet. The violence that is occurring against my LGBTQ+ people locks my lips together to my parents, and possibly some of my friends, because I don't want them to be my demise. In this hick state of Texas. My chest binder must be put up due to high summer tempatures, it's too hot to have on so I can't feel at home in my own body. I hate my feminine face, and my father uses double standard, making me shave, making me feel naked and incorrect. I feel incomplete, like I haven't had my right growth spirt, my right puberty. "Oh yeah, she-" makes me want to put a bullet in my head, but it I pulled the trigger I know my family wouldn't understand why. "Hey girl!" don't look, don't turn, they aren't talking about you. But, once I'm an adult with a steady income, I hope to become the person I wish to be.

They asked us to think of the person we respected the most in our lives. Once we had that person in our thoughts they continued, "Now, write a letter to them coming out" My throat hitched and I felt my chin start to quiver, One kid called out, "But I'm not gay?" That isn't the point of the exercise, Michael. My mother always told me when I cried my chin looked like a walnut because of the way I scrunched it up in attempt to keep from sobbing. And in that moment I knew my chin was contorting into a nut and my eyes began to burn, Because am I? The constant names and ridicule, "You're a **** *you're a **** **you're a **** spit at me like venom after I donated my hair, The family jokes of, "So you have a boyfriend yet?" No. "A girlfriend then?" The countless times I have walked downstairs in the morning only to hear my mother say, "You look like a lesbian" and laugh because I didn't feel like putting on makeup that day. I had spent my entire high school career terrified of the thought of being gay. But so what? What if I am? Why does it feel like being gay is wrong? The word "gay" is used as an insult time and time again. If you're not straight then you're not normal. Normal? We have to crush this assumption that heterosexuality is a must, that it's the norm. The LGBTQ community needs you. We need acceptance. Someone should not feel threatened due to their sexuality. That exercise, of writing a letter to your idol coming out, shouldn't even need to exist. Coming out shouldn't be so scary, so difficult. We need to learn and to accept one another. We can't place such negative connotations about being gay, or trans, or pan, or bi, or anything but straight and cis into the youths head, because then they end up terrified and confused, just as I was. Please, We need to save these kids.

America, the beautiful place full of obesity and intolerance, where there’s a McDonald’s on every corner, but a homeless veteran on every corner too. The place where old white men are making choices about women’s reproductive rights, refugees are turned away from a place founded by immigrants, And racism is alive and well. America the Beautiful doesn’t exist any more, It’s America the polluted, America the Land of Sexism, America that would disappoint our forefathers. America was founded by people in search of freedom, but yet our government is trying to take our freedoms away, when our President is in favor of conversion therapy that makes LGBTQ+ people 8 times more likely to commit suicide, it’s obvious that he doesn’t actually care about us. America the money hungry country, Where I can’t afford the EpiPen I need to survive, And the top 1% says that raising the minimum wage is us being selfish. America the Misogynist, Because our country is directly affected by who we choose to represent it. And I do not want to be “grabbed by the ***** I don’t want a ****** to be in charge when my ****** is still out living free on the streets.   We are America the sexist because when women march for their right’s it’s seen as a whine, not a cry for help. America the bigot, Where people are seen more as their melanin pigment, or their religion, and less as a person. Where “don’t shoot” is more of a suggestion than a plea., Where I’m worried about my friends every single day. America the Beautiful doesn’t exist any more. It was made beautiful by the array of faces all different creeds, colors, and religions. Now America is the United States of Hate.
