A child's memory
is never about play
not hangout with peers
nor running all day

It's made from the words
that his parents had said
it lingers through mornings
and stays until bed
Careful the things you say, Children Will Listen

- Stephen Sondheim

She moved like water
Grace as it is in every curve
Boundless beauty laced in movement
Infinite flow compressed by subtlety

Her dance as seamless as wind
Perfection carved in every step
Flares of passionate glory fills her skin
Never rigid in her creativity
Though as the crowd joyfully stood
Brimming the room of loud applause
She shew a triumphant smile
Now painted with fearful misery

The eye of my blood blinks crimsons
And sweat thick nuggets of gold

It glistens through sheens of purple
And flickers when it be so bold

It throbs with pulses of grayness
So stricken in pain and sore

It ravages pitches of black
And swallow it dark even more
Elaine Everdeen Apr 2019
The eyes are threads of rivers
flown rapidly through skies

The mind, a straying cricket
sailing leaf-bound as it cries
Curiosity in never question but rather instinct
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
I'm no friend to open doors
that welcomes useless guests
This house forbid these tiled floors
be stepped by pesky pests

But now I open all my gates
and windows on my skin
Invite all monsters that awaits
then let the devil in
It first was fun for me. I just had to ruin it
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
memories are made
to fill useless gaps
to a life
created by mishaps

Never be fooled
by a word of sentiment
Its coating can never
reflect its intent

For whether or not
you know of its content
It's trickery stands
beneath its compliment
Although the only flattery I recieve are those from myself. Still a lie.
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
a picture speaks
when it can talk
it says so much
but none is heard

yet hearts in love
have more to say
but aren't in need
a single word

Withering flowers
Drop petals as though faucets
Poured unto oceans
First haiku of my first collection
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
a ripple of wave
dancing along the current
swims swiftly off sea
Drip....
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
Strands of worthlessness
Dangling beneath rods of hope
Falls to grieving floors
current mood.....sorry.

let winds turn to rogue
and waters burst to riot
'til fires be silenced
I'm not pretty sure about the message in this, but I'll let you build yourself an inspirational image within the given context

fate is but a mist
blaring fiercely with its breath
unto eyes of days
Its all smoke, fate.
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2020
If ever I leave the place where you enter and both of us can never see the other,

always remember that even if my feet might never meet yours, it will follow them.

And they shall walk together, no matter how apart.
It's always intuition. Or maybe telepathy....that I know exactly where you are, or what you may be doing, without the need to ask.

Wrap the bones
of wicked men
and gravel it below

Coat with sand
and dampened soil
nay let a white bestow

Sow a seed
of blossom blood
in center of the ground

Watch it spread
to heaven's eye
'til no grave is to found
Sounds a bit vaguely horrid, huh?
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2020
If I die tomorrow, please don't confine me in a half-hearted casket, never send me a dying flower, a condolence, and never a tear.

I am not a tragedy.

Instead...grind my bones to powder and sprinkle them to the air. Let me breathe the breath of the many I have wanted to comfort.

Let me graze upon their cheek and ruffle their hair. I want to let them know that I still care though I'm not there with them.

That I can touch them, and hold them dearly

and whisper in their hearts...

"I love you"

still in the same way I do now
and so much more tomorrow.

I've never thought
that this would be
what I have felt for you

I've seen you lots
but this first meet
had yet surprised me too

I learned too much
'til I then thought
that I want to forget

But then I knew
that what was true
was we indeed have met
There's a reason why "III" was the title. It was part of his name.
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
don't tell me to not care
it's never that easy

don't tell me it wil pass
it's never that quick

just please help me
i'm begging you please

i need some advice
but please not this

tell me what to do
tell me what to say

i can't walk down there
and just ignore them

i can hear them. they're there
i can feel them. they're there

just... please help me
they won't ever die down

just tell me what to do
but please not that
It's never that easy to do it, it never goes away that fast. Just please help me

We've all been wrecked by deep regret
and loathed by sheer despair
Have swindled by the hands of shame
with no means of repair

We've hit the ground for far too long
and kissed it while were so
Now we've no right to prove ourselves
we're stronger than we know
Feel pain
Give up

It's not much of a healthy quote
Elaine Everdeen May 2019
I once had fooled a shadow
It looked not where as I
Its eyes captured horizons
Mine voyaged the sky

Then las we locked sight
Ran deep in sinking stare
Our eyes now stranded
Our minds roamed elsewhere
Elaine Everdeen Jun 2019
Can I live
through skin and bones
and not have soul within

Or shall I be
a floating mist
with no more touching skin

Will I run
the spinning world
with feet to plant the ground

Or will I rot
with breezing scent
and not have sprung a sound
Human kind yearns to mark a history of their name within hard walls, than of soft sand. And with such desire comes war, a battle between mind, soul, and body. A journey to see which conciousness remains. A quest in question.

Saw
Shame becomes a hindrance
For those who pursues wrong
Its call will hush admittance
To sing one's sinful song

They then submit refrain
To mask their sharp distress
But guilt will soon sustain
Its longing to confess
We do wrong
We think bad
But we all know what's true

Just fake it
Or break it
The choice still lies on you
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
If mouths can actually talk
Then eyes would rather see
The ears would start to hear
What wonders mold to be

If that world then exist
My skin would trigger touch
My nose would then smell
The beauty, such and such

But when I refuse to live this way
Start an enclosed  journey
Let my mind hear what it feels
Have my heart say what to see

I would start to feel the world
Growning upon my palm
Then wash away the fears
When my senses would be calm
Just let your senses die for a while, and see how limitless feelings can encapsulate your mind. Its......good.
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
A tale of one's own
Should never be told
For plots that bear truth
Knows none whom to hold

Be weary of those
Who know of your life
It may be kept dear
Or thrown behind lies
Trust me, I know.
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
Grow, grow
my sweet despair
Grow as big
that none compare

Mirror seas
and level skies
Leave no blank
'til your demise

Hide the world
with darkened light
Cover goodness
out of sight

Take all life
within each soul
Eat it quick
Eat it whole
Say this as though stirring a cauldron of boiling turmoil
tap
Elaine Everdeen Apr 2019
tap
it was his sudden touch
that sprung my heart within

my scalded blood drips endlessly
unto his burning skin
Although it sounds incomplete, it still feels whole to me.
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
i loved you
and i wish i still did
yet i still do
and always will
love you
Try playing with verb tenses it gets weird but beautiful
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
We try to live younger
As we all grow old
For past times were purer
Or so we've been told

But now is not less
Than then's cheerful smile
For life's greatest ride
Is not in its mile
I just happen to realize how elder people try to be younger, and also how young people act more mature than their age.

Age is just a number that indicates how much you've lived in this world, it doesn't remind you of your limitations, neither does it depict your maturity
Elaine Everdeen Apr 2019
Let the walls run deep
into the stairwells of vision

Let the walls fall through
below the rivers of noise

Let the walls soar by
over massing clouds of scent

Let the walls be still
'til one small word is spent
Elaine Everdeen Mar 2019
Forgive me if I ever refer to you as the sea. It does not concern your size. It regards the moments in which whenever I believe that you have calmed and I decided to be walking ever so gracefully among the sand, you bring a sudden approach that leaves me stunned. And I am not happy, when I should be.
You're like waves
Strong and unpredictable
But I dont' want to swim
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
You are
What you think
You are worth

And you
Are worth more
Than what you think
Elaine Everdeen Feb 2019
You drew my name
in pencil coal
then wiped it off once more

And wrote it back
in faded shade
with doubt that you had bore

But you erased
'tis then I thought
that you'll remain it slack

But you returned
with ink in hand
then stained my name in black

— The End —
