Deeply in Love
Gabriel Aug 2021
Toss a coin in an old well
for a wish to have a maiden so fair,
into the abyss I succumb and dwell
to take back my love, my lost pair.

How long I have searched for you,
  in cities of different lights,
only to find out that if love is true
it will come to you in sparkly eyes.

She's an alarm clock to my sleepy soul,
the lullaby to my wakeful heart,
a lover who stands her ground to
  watch you grow,
and a woman that loves all your pieces of art.

Mahal,
One more chance
Please come back

Water
Gabriel Jul 2021
When you drown in
an endless ocean of whisky,
you'll miss the taste of life's waters
as your mind floats above the
ravaging tide of addiction
  and you constantly begging
for the flow to calm

You'll realize that the slowest of recovery
is better than the fastest one who can chug

Someone out there is either dying for alcohol
or dying from an alcohol addiction,

I won't judge you
on what your heart is looking for
but the drink that's been on your hand
for too long
ain't Jesus in a bottle

It will pass.

Bargain
Gabriel Jul 2021
How desperate we are
to maintain our habits,
we often trade parts of ourselves
just to feel that rush
whenever we sober up
and latch on to that feeling
up to the very end.

The other lung
for a pack of cigarettes,
that spare kidney
for case of beer
and the worst one
trading a trusted friend
for a gram,
Alas at the end of the day
no matter how much earthly treasure you possess in this world of trades,
you can never bargain the time
that is lost
and another chance for everything
  to change
Happy 1 month sober to me

Through The Gates of Hell
Gabriel Jul 2021
Oh how people judge me so fast
when they knew
that I went to hell and back.
    Scent of burning rubber,
a shirt that's full of ash                       and the flames that light up my cigarette
   spoke the tales of me
going to hell and came back.

People fear what they can not fathom
and belittled a journey that I used to seek,
since they only lived a life
of *** and ***
a life so empty,
a life that's only to satisfy their lust and greed.

As I almost taste the hope that I've been craving,
I smiled with broken teeth and
a broken spine from carrying
all of  the burden on my bag.
" God, bless my new beginnings,
I thank you for guiding me through the gates of hell
and
never wanting me
to go back."

On a blank space
you were like the color yellow
as bright as the sun
that we share in this lifetime
       In open arms
  You have held me
while I was feeling blue
    together my love
Our green minds
   Made love
and
created another masterpiece
in this canvas of life

Smoke some cigarettes
laugh at the process
meet the woman you longed for
and have a beer or two.
Tell her that her eyes are like bottle caps
something inside of her is worth
every drop of intake
and that her lips are soft as the pillows you rest on after a 8 to 5 job.
She's all the rest you need
you're being captive by a soul
that sheds every time you are one step
away from her
And now that you have her
she'll turn to wine
and loving her gets better
as the years go by
I am no good man
but God ****** I wish I'll be the one
That you'll look at
When you say
"I do"

It was 3 years ago
The very first moment my heart
felt home
Your eyes were like waves
and with every glance
my heart started to love your waters
Your walk was like rhum
I got drunk with every step you take
and that made me had the courage
To say
That the liquor wasn't strong enough to tell you I love you

Almost There
Gabriel Apr 2021
As we kissed in a bar,
your lips tried to send a sign
I asked you if you're alright
You said "almost there"

It's a cold evening
And I told you that I'm in love,
I asked if you felt the same way
And you said "almost there"

      Few weeks have passed
as I hold your hand,
your heart now shares the same beat as mine
I asked for the last time

" When's the moment till I can call you my wife"

"My love, we are almost there"

And in its arms

For in each shot I take, the liver begs the heart to stop
and the heart pleads the intoxicated brain as well.
The heart beats for a name that shattered it,
the eyes had seen what the mind couldn't bear
and my liver will consistently be fuller
than each bottle I have drank.

To My Next Lover
Gabriel Jan 2021
I hope you'll find the goodness of man in me
My bones have been broken
    for fighting over a love
that wasn't meant to risk

My hands have turned into tools
that fixed everything I touch
while forgetting I was being used
       In the process

To the next lover
   We are lonely people
trying to figure out
     how to be less lonely
Let's start this by saying
                 "Hi"

I ran away with you
For you have promised an eternity of smiles
When we were halfway through
I have now seen my very own demise
The garden of roses that I dreamt on lying with you
was a burial with two coffins
for me and for my heart that bleeds for you

Rainy Morning
Gabriel Aug 2020
Waking up beautiful
in a cozy bed
of comfort promises
you were finally covered
with blankets as thick as the love
he gave you
warmth and felt like arms
that tuck you to sleep
on a rainy day
and as you close your eyes
the last thing you'll ever hear
is a whisper that reaches
through the deepest
of your trauma
only to find out
you are loved.

Spaces Between Your Fingers
Gabriel Jul 2020
I know your hands are full,
   all of the empty promises
with mouthful of lies
and broken ribs
  that been beaten by men
because you taught your heart
to make it beat their name.

There's a free room
and it's there
between your fingers
that only need
a strong soul
and a grip that can endure
the remaining years

The Knuckles And The Heart
Gabriel Jul 2020
A swift hit onto a plain wall
is far better
than an aching heart
that felt what the eyes have seen

My hands have a purpose
but it's far more fragile
than the love it holds

I'll break both
for I have grown numb,
Yet my eyes are waterfalls
that I need to put a dam
for you to not see the tears

that means the moment I entered your life,
I can fill the pages on the chapters I entered in your story
and let no ink be wasted
even when I'm left handed.

I'll carefully use metaphors

to offer you humanity
instead of things
that can only last a day,

your love is my ink

Story Of Us
Gabriel May 2020
It takes 1 kiss
   for the two of us
to say those three words
that holds us for a lifetime.
At 5 Am we watched the sunrise
I told you six of my fears
you said I was your 7th
so you couldn't stand an 8th
you told me I was a benign one
and that I drop you off at 10

When you found love

and I got my first kiss
all over again

She can turn pain into a man
  that I've never met
and I can easily beat him up
     knowing all you need
to do is to fight

She can turn my traumas
    into monsters
She is the lamp and the teddy bear
  the protector and the way
             whenever I feel
my life is going dark

A woman who loves you

you want

is just
be the man

Idiot
Gabriel May 2020
They said
I make the most stupid choices
from choosing alcohol over books
    and cigarettes over gum.

Dropping grades
while raising my voice
towards my mom for nagging 24/7
     You question yourself
to the point
your friend's room
has been more of a home
than the hands of who raised you

But the world ain't fair
         when you were made
from your father's fake promises
   that made your mother's heart
colder than the beer she held.

I was called by many names
  from being the most stupid
to being the most hated

              But God I loved it
        when you called me yours
The right woman will always be there for you

Honest Poem #1
Gabriel Apr 2020
Sometimes I envy your ex
he got the best out of you
turned it to something
they could just use for a habit
while you treated them

Let me cover your scars

paint them with our memories
         and turn them
into something beautiful

I know your fear
that this might be another goodbye

and treat me as your first

Two souls
Destined to be in a train station
At 9 am
me,

Fell once more

What if we met
In a bar alley
when your interests

we danced the night away
not as lovers
but strangers
that are  four swipes
late from tinder
To be something more
Than just a one night stand

What if this time
is the right time
How our scars
turn to lines
That form each others names
The words "I do"
begin to spill in our mouths
just waiting
