Unsure to Sure
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
Unsure how to respond,
Unsure what to say.
Try putting my mind into words.
See if you are pulled up and down,
Twisted left and right every night;
See if you still sound
Like a perfect movie then.
Will you still be sure?

Re-Beginning New Beginnings
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
I heard a sorry escape your lips today.
Your eyes looked painfully away
I had still had nothing to say
Yet I stayed to listen.
Around your fingers, you twirled your pen
As you spoke about how it should have been.
You read my letter
And took some time to ponder,
You finally stopped hoping I would push away
Leave the conclusion behind us.
You accepted finally that deep down,
What you did brought me pain.
You said you could do whatever I wanted.
Leaving much from my lips unsaid.
You said you know you left me red.
You know it hurts when we talk,
When we walk
When we are near
Your skin feels like it is going to sear through
Like I single touch could re-begin the process.

Hello?

Hello?
Are you home,
Or leaving me to roam?
Did you disappear,
Leaving this pain to sear?

What a Parent
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
At eternal rest you shall be,
forever forgotten by me.
You are out of my sights,
No longer taking my rights.
Away from my head,
I am nothing you led.
Bother me no more,
Watch me finally soar

Call
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
Thirty minute phone call,
You on the other line.
Why did you sound happy,
Excited to hear my voice?

And be released onto the streets

Where nothing eats

Because lost and nothing is all we are.

Loose beneath the stars

Sadness has taken its toll

I gave away my soul

You and I
Rianna Quarequio Nov 2015
You and I have broken apart – never again will I be so careless.
We made ourselves into a work of art, but we forgot to clean the mess
We made along the way. You were understanding,
While I was “just okay”. You would’ve said anything
To make me love you, but I was oblivious.
I had no idea you felt the same, now all I can do is rue.
I miss you. I miss my best friend.
You miss me like I do. You asked for my heart to lend,
But all I could do was say no. Nothing to send.
There was nothing we could do, the circumstances were rough.
Now there is nothing you can undo, we are both going to have it tough.

Who to love;
Who to hate.
The answer once clear
Now I don't see you here.
You left.
Sent your message in an email
That left me wide eyed and pale.
Here, as I cry and wonder,
"How did you not know
I would take this as a blow?"

Grown
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
Never good enough,
Aways a subject of comparison.
Set myself to strive for tough-
Tought myself never to run.

Used to cry in sight of replacement,
Scream in the eye of change.
Never said what I meant
Staying in safe range.

Fear became the teacher
Envy became the coach.

Shattered glass,
Car brights,

Two of Us
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
I remain under your wing;
Sitting under the shadow.
You make my heart sing
Before you go.

The two of us
Lay under the same tree
Before the insane rush,
Before the "title" caught me.

Our bodies intertwined,
Souls no-longer searching.

My left hand signed
My heart still beating
To you.

Could we really belong?

You
Rianna Quarequio Jan 2016
You
You,
Left me broken and untrusting,
Afraid to find who I was,
And back in the pouring rain
Afraid to unpause.
Your,
Unbroken confidence,
Bandaged sense of pride,
And a damaged heart.
You're,
Slowly moving on,
Forgetting a lifetime promise,
And Never looking back.

Your Love Versus Mine
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
We have disappeared into an abyss I found.
You loved my eyes, I love only you.
You loved my hand, I love your love.
You loved what I can do, I love what you could dream.
You loved my hair, I love your admiration.
You loved what you could see, I love everything about you. Including you.

Mother
Rianna Quarequio Nov 2015
You took away a childhood that wasn’t yours to take.
My younger year were spent away.
Hiding from your screams not known to be fake.
You left us alone with nothing to say
Because we couldn’t stand the sight of you
Afraid of what you might do.
You stole a life from me, too bad I learned.
I won’t let you get in my way any longer
Because the tables have finally turned.
I am going to write my own story without your blur.
I have my life planned I can do it!
Despite what you said, my life can be lit.

Leaving
Rianna Quarequio Jan 2016
Left a place called home
For a future of unknown certainty.
Knowing it will not be easy,
But for sure something of my choosing.
In the end I will be proud,
Never looking back at the abuse
Because it will be long gone.

That Moment
Rianna Quarequio Nov 2015
That moment of loss for words,
The minute of deep thought,
The hour of irrational feelings,
The day of an unknown emotion

No one knows when that day will be,
Or how lost that hour will make you feel,
Or how long that minute will exist,
Or what will cause that moment.

I just met my moment,
Shoved aside my minute,
And am living in my hour.
My day is not yet over.

You Always Say
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
Where did we go?
Lost in the abyss of cloudy memories
Wound up so low,
We will never find the keys
You threw away.
Yet you always say,
"I love you.
Always will, always have.
I will do whatever you want,
Simply ask, and I will do."
Your words stick like glue
I keep you words in mind
knowing I have been blind.

The Package.
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
A package arrived yesterday
and it was from you without say.
I called to ask as I sit,
but you urged my to open it.
There was a necklace inside.
I felt like my insides died.
What a fool I am!
I put it on, then fell asleep with it.

When I thought you were mine;

Put your knife in mine.
I thought I could trust you
Until I saw what you could do.

Old Ways
Rianna Quarequio Dec 2015
When one has a rough few weeks
She thinks about reverting to old ways
Peeling away the wallpaper she plastered herself in
Ripping open a scab made yesterday, over yesterday
Her world seems to be ripping apart
She can’t change a thing without thinking about it
How easy would it be?
She could go back to long jeans and turtlenecks
No one would suspect a thing during the cold days.

When one has a rough few weeks
She thinks about reverting to old ways
She almost does, then she remembers
Remembers how difficult it is to fix it every time.
She have the scars to prove it.

Lay in the grass without you here
If everything was a mere dream
You could join me
