what we had was beautiful
beautiful and fleeting
and before you i didnt know
that one could love so madly
and i dont know if that makes me feel better or worse
now that you're gone

poor lil snowflake
poor lil snowflake
things so deeply felt
poor lil snowflake
always ready to melt
poor lil snowflake
well melt away lil snowflake
as I **** on you
read things properly, in their context, before getting your flags out and running crying and screaming to teacher.

What am I?
Water of Love
A kiss Divine?
Each crystalline design
A shimmering Angel!
Dear heart, uncoil
Open my seeking, hungry soul
Reaching beyond the breath of freedom
To sooth weary pains.
Am I enough?
Clasping each frozen crystal.
Gently touching. Gently Soothing
Each fallen tear.
Gently touching. Gently Soothing
Clasping each frozen crystal.
I am enough!
To Sooth weary pains.
Reaching beyond the breath of freedom
Open my seeking, hungry soul
Dear heart uncoil
A shimmering Angel
Each Crystalline design
A kiss Divine
Water of Love
Am I.
Walking the medicine wheel as it turns through our life, we grow in wisdom and truth as our capacity to expand in love grows. We find within the core of our self our own a spark of the Divine.

No two snowflakes are the same
But they're still only snowflakes.
Their unique qualities are purely superficial
And in the end they will all melt away into steam
So it's a good thing
That snowflakes
Have never let individuality
Go to their heads.
Lonely little
Melt in my hand
A moment
So sate
So sweet
You remember
Of dying
To simply be

How I envy thee

A snowflake is when life and death
Touch lips~not to kiss~
But to breathe unheard words
Into each other's hollowed mouths,
Like a dark, unending woodlands.

Lost and confused,
like the first snowflake:
uncertain, but unknowingly
the harbinger of a knee deep, silent night,
the herald of a new carpet, crisp and white,
not destined for alone-ness,
but, in concert, ready to reflect
a glorious night of moonlight.

Like the first snowflake
you're destined
for something
Happy New Year.

They tumble in the wind
falling as they go
drifting in the wind
sailing as they go

they are soft as a down willow
and light as a babies sigh
i watch them after dark
dancing in the grass

like stars that fell from the sky
they move with dire
with hearts hot as fire
they love as no others would

They hold a passion of wonder
who would question that which has no end
So into the Night They fly into Twilight
To a Land of Dreams and Hope forever
As consistent as a snowflake,
Counting up from one to infinity.
Free falling through this endless shape,
Contained within a finite space.

You may call me a Snowflake,
        But I will not melt.
You may call me a Snowflake,
But we will blanket the ground
You may call me a Snowflake
        But my fist will remain
        In the air, emboldened
        And Inflamed
You may call me a Snowflake,
But my chapped lips will Breathe
Warm Winter air
You may call me a Snowflake,
     But remember
you are nothing but an old tin can
Rusting away in the cold of
             Our Snowflake sand
for we are everywhere you will stand
You may call me a Snowflake,
Cause I will be back again
        And again and again
        Waiting here on the ground
For you to come join me
        under this blanket
And be a friend.

Freezing a glance
Wind cuffs down-white heliums
Sweeps contrails
Separates cirrus across the moon

Cresting wave tormented
wind against steel
movement in movement
sprays of hair

Blizzard of petals from the apple
Furious snow
drifts off—  garage roof
Fog that haunts the river on the coldest nights

The walk across the alley
so long—
A lifetime from the doorway
of someone else’s impatience
Prints of motion
record the loss
a single set in snow

But there!
on the icy, shoveled surface of night
lies the snowflake of a bird
impossibly molted
Song of a feather
Flailing! Helpless!

More than lovely for its lying there!
Lying there!

Your riding on empty, your riding on fumes
Aint it about time you started paying your dues?
Hey snowflake move out of daddy's  basement
Aint it about  time you started paying your rent
It's been years since you've earned a red cent
Hey snowflake move  out and live in a tent
The cronies you adore are taking you for a ride
Aint nobody here that's digging your jive
You have no concept of wrong and right
News flash: You're just a young parasite
You have this idea  you're better than most
The sad Truth is you're nothing but toast
It's about time you owned up to it
You're nothing but a societal misfit
Hey snowflake you're on the wrong path
Hey snowflake start doing the math
Nobody seems to be safe from your wrath
Do us all a favor by taking a bath.

Memories of us fall like
snowflakes, beautiful, fragile,
evanescent as they melt
into the tears that dapple
my blue bed.
My hair flows like the river,
just like the day we met,
just like the heart that resides within,
no longer brave enough to beat for you
when you are framed
in black and white.

A silver lining is foreseen, as the sky has painted itself grey,
There, in the cold, rough clouds a drop of water begins to freeze,
Floating elegantly, gently, or even playfully toward the ground,
Father frost already has bidden the meadows and hills his blessing,
The animals are ready to slumber tight throughout the sunless season,
And as this single flake is landing, its brothers and sisters follow,
Cuddling up together in a lovely manner to make snow,
And cover the world in a icy, wet, yet delicate blanket,
Sleep well mother earth,
I hope to see your blessing when you wake up from your slumber,
The flowers of spring will then declare,
Your lively awakening.

The snowflake is castellated cold,
Of chill crenellations and turnings narrow.
Court of pie-powders and gray-skied brazier smoke,
Of inner mazework dimmed to ****** holes,
Or the hooded machicolations from tower spire
Of oily darkness and arrowslits of Greek fire.

The snowflake is Medieval reliquary,
The frozen skull of rain and blood clear of sin,
Wind-captive with its prayer of quiet
On quietest lips, close to wine and sacrament.
Or the chapel and its waxen paramours
Of incorrupt body and candlelight upon the moors.

The snowflake is the mighty frozen spark,
Fire-forged and ironwrought,
Under the eye of Hephaestus,
Blacksmith of sorrow’s wind.

As his feet moved even faster, and he twirled and whirled and cantered across the stage, it was as if he existed in an indeterminate space - blinded by the footlights, deafened by the orchestra, absorbed in his own rumbustious choreography. Beyond the pit, in the anonymous darkness, the audience rippled and flared appreciatively in response. So he danced on until, with a final rapturous gesture of his outstretched arms, he plunged to earth as dizzy as a snowflake. And waited.

The silence shifted. The soft rumble of engine noise played softly in the background, while the chain-link fence rattled in the squall which blew fresh off the harbour. He opened his eyes and watched the cars crawling across the overbridge above him; the empty basketball court, littered with yesterday’s snack papers, lay in shadow. In the middle distance, a familiar figure walked briskly towards him.

‘Matthew! Matthew! You come here this secon’ or I’ll whip your **** right off, already.’
‘Yes, Auntie.’
‘What you doin’ tryna waste good time?’
‘Nothin’, Auntie.’
‘Ain’t that the truth, boy.’

As he stooped to gather up his satchel, Matthew saw out of the corner of his eye the concertmaster lower his instrument, incline his head, and begin to tap his music stand with his bow. From the balconies the first of a thousand rose petals began to fall with the evening rain, the applause thundered while the lightning clapped, and there in the gods stood his mother waving and blowing kisses at him, as he followed his aunt down East Street towards home.

‘And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.’
- Friedrich Nietzsche

The western sky sweeps
Darkness to back yards
The dawning east keeps
Designing with hues
Mornings greeting cards.
Nice to see the crews
Active in writing
Fresh magic haikus
Deep in creating
Textures and sinews
With unique mixing
Of color and lures
Interspersed musings
On honeycomb verse
Soft snowflake rhymings
Draught on fragrant wings
Beams of rainbow waves
Fuse sweetness and light
Deeds of Devine Inc
Wrought in suntan ink
Duty with delight
In morning twilight

We were both love. I was a sunflower and you were a snowflake. Both beautiful and gentle but unable to coexist effectively because flowers can’t blossom in the cold.

Yet when it ended, the truth became misconstrued.
Suddenly I was a rose thorn that pricked you till you bled.
And you were a greedy bee that ****** the life out of me and left me empty.

We created false portrayals of each other to make this all a bit easier to deal with.

But the truth will always stay.

We were both beauty, purity, fragility, love.
We just weren’t meant to give our love to each other.

And now we both bleed, because the hardest part is accepting we were never meant to be.
We were never meant for each other..

Look at me
I'm here
Like a snowflake
Passing you by
Like a teardrop
In your eye

Look at me
I'm here
A speck of dust
Floating in mid air
A small fly
Tangled in your hair

Look at me
I'm here
Before your eyes
I won’t be shown
And just like that
You'll be alone

(empty pages and snowflake)

Jack walks out the door of the bar into the wind swept gloom.
at 2 a.m. the gray desolation of downtown is gone.
the rain has finally turned to snow.

the cold numbs. A candy bar or spoon full of sugar will help
but if the body’s caloric need for fuel can’t be met
     the legs become uncoordinated
the mind confused and then uncaring.
     eventually, the heart stops.

this is what becomes of love forgotten, of the things we  push      aside. jack stares at the  hill of white snow plowed to the corner.
      his dog would be back.

     the snow covers everything.
it covers the old cars and the rotting buildings
     the sidewalk and its cracks.
the city, jack imagines, is becoming an adjectiveless word.
a book of all white pages.
jack steps off the curb into the gutter
and the street is empty for as far as he can see.
      he starts walking.

      jack disappears into empty pages.
