"parachute" poems
I hitch a ride on the Battle Bus, Everyone else jumped out, I must. I deploy my parachute below, I glide my way to Moisty Meadow. As I land I slurp some shields, Extra health and a pistol I wield. I loot the houses and **** the squads, Which would not be possible without my mods. I run from the storm throughout the game, I post on the 'Gram that I won for fame. Everyone that saw my Victory Royale, Commented below and said "Dang, Wow!" Now that I won, I'm the coolest around, I walk down the halls with a figurative crown.

When I was a child, I dreamt I could fly, When I woke, I tried for a while As hard a I might, it was a lie! When I was a child, I dreamt I could breathe Under water for a while. Awake I tried but air I need! As I grew up, those silly dreams I forgot, Until one day I jumped out of a plane, With a parachute, the wind I caught. Flying like Superman, it was insane! As I grew up, those silly dreams I thought I forgot, Until I dove deep down under water, With scuba gear that I bought. Swimming like a mermaid was not bother! Looking back now, I see Those silly little dreams Were always a part of me. Dreams come true, it seems!

Dreams Come True
Azure was the sky, and leaden was the sea; Not surprising would the discord be For him who has read Wordsworth. What ailed his thoughts were the debris Of broken glass fishermen-in-boats Might have thrown into the ocean On a night of 'Celtia'* with no pairing, Or the sight of a woman’s dress Whose swollen darkness was A sea urchin, whose quills Were plucked by the greenness of rust; Or a German parachute Over Kasserine pass**, my thyme nest And the center of Tunisia. ©LazharBouazzi, July 15, 2018

The Swim
“You just need to know this is the first time I’ve ever done this without looking for an exit row. And I’m pretty sure my seat can’t float but I’ve already fallen from the sky for you, Already said no to the parachute, Already told my mother you curse like a sailor and you love like the war is finally over and you have just come home and you are running down the dock in the harbor and you’re screaming my name. You’re screaming “honey” and I’m screaming “don’t trip” and you’re screaming “honey honey” and I’m screaming “baby don’t fall down” I am running for your red lips I am running for your red heart With my red heart Red as a Mississippi sunset Honey”

"Honey" by Andrea Gibson
who needs tampons and breath mints and safety nets if you're there to cradle my fall? i'd jump out of a perfectly good airplane from thousands of feet in the sky without a parachute because i know you'll be there at the bottom with open arms

Safety
Frost forms on the window as I fly away from you, looking through the crystals to clouds, imagining falling through frigid air outside, my faith in a folded parachute to end my flight. You told me once you’d do it, you’d jump into the sky, but never for the thrill of risk, only to rescue, to save a life. I wonder if you see me falling into your eyes, and in your heart, am I worth a dive for love, or even friendship’s sake? Maybe that jump's just a risk you won't take.

The imaginers of now were children once, each day they each imagined tomorrow. Their daddies had just won the war happy days were really here again, this time. --- Now, we see what we see, it's not what we saw. And this is better than I imagined. My first oral book report was on 1984, in 1962. Percentages and stats, the odds, out of 8 billion… I carry my weight, saltwise, I'm light, too. Immaterial in fact. I watched the internet take form before my very eyes, magi technic never seen since Darius the Mede. Good job, geeks. Reared on radio waves your grandfathers never heard, your signal receptors from mito-mom, oh, what a plan. The promised ones. Many sons. hmmm 60 cycle white noise in the field, the field of fields, Future Farmers of America and stuff Powers we imagined, a color TV we could watch in the backseat for days on Route 66, a restaurant just for kids Toys 'r' Us oh, wow, those came and went and our Grand kids are imagining tomorrow, doin' fine with less of what we thought was cool, taking for granted all I accepted as granted, in the "It is Finished" Golden Parachute Package deal, Grace and Peace that multiplies.

The imaginers of now
When I write, It is like I am on an adventure, When I am happy I am drifting down a lazy river, When I am full of anger I am raging down dangerous rapids, Crashing into the jagged rocks of my anguish and anxiety Until finally I reach the river bank and I can rest. It is like I am scaling Mount Everest, Each level of creativity is another 100 metres into the sky Until finally my imagination is at the peak And my freedom is limitless, stretching across to the farthest reaches of the horizon It is like skydiving, A rush of adrenaline as I plummet towards the ground, Completely weightless and my mind is racing Like the air that brushes over my skin Until I pull the cord and release the parachute, Safely land on my feet With a new idea. It is like a drug, I am on an all time high, Hallucinations of what could be, How something that is far from tangible Becomes existential, Then during the come down I make that dream a reality. When I write, I feel like myself, There are too many possibilities That are still left unmarked on the map of written art.

Craziness equals normal.
I have left, pig-mudding drunk, having sipped from stock to stock on fraying cheer, stages. I have stood in foreign basements; sweaty cellars of youth; begot by attitude breeding spaces of the hip; drawn circles searching for love in recreating nonsense: a silly pupil, moon-eyed, out of breathe. I have heard them quack, reveal their cords; heard them whisper a thousand and one secrets, heard them deconstruct their circumstances as pilgrims, penniless and sick. I have their memories now, an image of a depressed, ass-imprinted pillow soaked in liquor and a feeling of nausea where ribs sleep on this couch tonight, every night. I have heard one refute the weight of living, ****** on the banks of his best friends hospitality, and thought How much is it worth? And I have envied every **** greasy pored hipster, the ones fixing on makingitnew now kind of clan; stared blankly at fashion, a culture back door where pink fish scales sparkle high from runway halters to the tops of grown men, bearded and chesty. And your mothers pearls sit, not your mother’s pearls but your mother’s, mother’s pearls, that old world clout ornamented around those hairy ******* Oh yes, I have seen men become peacocks, charmed animals of ********** seen them teeth at discourse in the noise they create, wide-mouthed and pointed; I have seen them masked like frantic felines: wooly bully cats trying-to-roll their own meter, their tobacco stained black charcoal over soft bricked lips quiver to their beats: those painted lemmingings, without a parachute: kamikaze felons. I have desired absolute sterility: white china, in the egg of a toilet bowl I spewed out, shut-up my exuberance for the night; sorry-pleaded my resolutions to gag out the naughty nouns in my life. I have quit; turned in my lust for performing the lioness, paw-licking, snarly creature: the predator of my youth, and now, I am pretty-headed, tamed in bath oils and schedules; a spotted fox, in plain view, one medium-sized mammal getting by.

scaled your apartment in one of my favorite dresses right before sundown watched the wind billow the blue silk up my thighs, parachute like as i looked down, several stories above your neighbors (wonder if anyone looked up) swallowed my human fear, counted the rungs had opened our forties prematurely in your apartment sure didn't make climbing any easier that big map stretched out yawning across the bricks in your living room spotted the city you were headed for blame it on uninformed geography but didn't realize you'd be completely across the country (didn't tell you but your cat kissed my nose from the bathroom counter while i was peeing and i thought it was one of the most endearing things that probably ever happened to me) got to your roof outta breath all adrenaline and eyes took off that big leather jacket lined with fleece, wrapped it around our backs and sat facing the city you'd be leaving and i'd be entertaining watched the traffic crawl on the BQE the sunset bored, you spilled your beer- kept rolling in it innocently- ****** laughing, god i just wanted to keep touching you couldn't decide what to eat both didn't wanna impose neither of us could remember the name of that tree littering pink slippery offspring in spring for you and me to exclaim fondness over you were the birth of a simplicity it was so terribly easy to be happy

I boarded her heart. Careful to follow the politics of comfort. Too much weight on either side & We'll surely panic. Tumbling down. Spiraling out of control. I packed light. Finding everything I need on board. I enjoyed my window seat. Being her passenger. The pleasantries of flying first class. The view of a different country. The tedious flutters of anticipation. Constantly aroused by the exploration of beating hearts. Continuing to see ourselves in reflection. Flying destination after destination. Going here, going there Non stop. If ever we should crash. I'll live knowing this was the best flight I've known. Light in heart. Parachute untouched

Terminal Velocity
He draws a man wearing a space suit   When he grows up,    does he want to be an astronaut? Then he draws the hands   gripping to puppet-like strings    When he grows up,     does he want to be a puppeteer? Later he draws the parachute   floating in the sky     When he grows up, "I want to be a skydiver!" He says,    whom he      wants        to          be.

Ambition
I’ll conceal your shifting hands, Palms pressed, Calluses to torn cuticles, All thumbs and knuckles and nails, And I don’t know her, violet-scented creeping infestation and How you’ve worn me down, there’s a hole in my sleeve- And I’ve let you chew on me, sweat on me, I’ve I’ve kept you warm And You used me, You used me to conceal illicit activities, hands in pockets, shrugging eyes off, never been cigarettes in there, nope, And you let her peel me off of you, the one with violet hands that weren’t so gentle, but violent, voracious, tearing in at you, as I watched from the floor she scratched the skin that I kept safe and warm, and and Why did you leave me crumpled on the floor and then And then let her take me home, draped over her bony shoulders to billow like a parachute, before she squeezed me half to death that night in her sleep?

Inanimate
oh sweet love, with those long arms that once held me so gently now push me away. but i'm holding on to you so tightly. no one else really matters, and without you i'm so alone. this existence is now so bittersweet. i still get to breathe, but not the air beside you. the air i thirst for and crave, it tastes like heaven. but if you must go, than i will miss you. all of me will miss you. i will feel this agonizing loneliness, in all the pores of my skin in all the crevices of my bones, and the tunnels of my veins. because you have become a part of me, your breath was absorbed into mine when we kissed. but now you have ripped this breath right out of my lungs, and i am left gasping for your air. my body is so incomplete without you. i know i am the one that first walked, but i tried so hard to come back. now i know how it feels, to be rejected by your love. i feel myself gripping to the walls of this canyon my nails making trails as i hold on for dear life but i have fallen without a parachute or a net and now my wings are gone. i will probably die without you

blown up
The other day When I said that your face reminds me of a rhinoceros I wasn't saying that you look like a bulky box Or that your skin looks grey I was really trying to say that You make me feel like there are a hundred 5 ton mammals stampeding across my heart And sometimes when I look at you I can't even breathe Because all the weight of wanting this Crushes my lungs til my chest burns like an African desert Consequently most rhinos are found in Africa And I researched all of this in the hopes that Maybe you would understand You see the thing is I am not good with emotions And I know as much about love as I know about quantum physics And I don't even know what quantum physics is about Or what it means for that matter I've been trying to read all the romance novels that I could find I've been trying to watch all the rom-coms I can torrent Hell I even watched Valentine's Day thrice But I still don't know what to do when I'm with you I am unsure and clumsy and petrified So much so that I can't even work up the courage To hold your hand I'm trying, I really am It's just so **** difficult When falling in love feels more like Jumping out of a helicopter A hundred thousand feet up Without a parachute on One day I will be able To directly say what I really mean Without metaphors involving animals That only I understand But for now let me just say Your face reminds me of a rhinoceros

the night was already crazy-wild by the time we arrived at Jarred's pool. he had a big house but we never went in 4 teens, teen dream, a dream team; but I knew deep down just what it was we snuck out for. a "transform-optional" rite, this hollow night. but I still had doubts... as Jarred offered me an aluminum can of something and I nervously said, "no thank you", the moon had proudly jut out he had a big house but we never went in. I hadn't noticed, without the moonlight, just how sharp Jarred's teeth and fingernails were. canines, ivory & sporadic. looking at me I hadn't noticed how reptilian our 2 friends were The fangs and dislocating jaws, tendrils & scales. Man-o-war for a head, giant earthworm for an arm She looked scarier than he. Those 2 went at each other in a murderous way A blood sport of sorts. Confusing to me. She spread her jaws wide - a parachute with teeth And bit down hard between his legs. Blood everywhere. Blood spattered on her face She looked ****** god-awful by then. The meat of his dead body then re-animated And assimilated with hers. Anabiosis + Differentiate Jarred, a werewolf or something like it, approached me. He had a big house but we never went in. we chatted poolside for a while he'd go harmoniously from monster to human, human to monster. Boiling cancerous growths under his fur Grew angry eyes that glared at me. clawhand on the back of my neck, he went in for a kiss (or a bite) with a puckered face and bared teeth. This is it. I finally felt a grossness so profound that I, without thinking, jumped in the pool to splish-splash, cool, to escape, whatever I opened my eyes and just floated there for a bit. hanging in the stillness trying to forget those alien freaks staring up at the moon from the bottom of a pool.
