Everyday I go the same way
I don't sway far from the footpath
Cause I'm afraid to be led astray
I don't need to do the maths
to know I'm not a psychopath in this thinking
but I do have an inkling
that maybe I am sociopath
because I go the same way everyday
just to stay sane.
It's hard to explain
this disdain for anything different
to the stinking mundane that is my life.
I desperately try to sustain it by going out of my way to contain and control everything to obtain order.
So there is nothing new
Everything here the same.
like some sort of lame game
that's to blame because
I'm ashamed to say
that I'm addicted to it.
A convict in my own brain
Beginning ****** battles
Bish! Bash! Bosh!
Trying to be evicted
cause I'm conflicted
I resent being restricted
but I'm twisted
and wouldn't know
what to do if I got out
it's not just mere
bout with self doubt
about being scared
from swaying from the footpaths
No it's not being scared
it's about disappointment
I'm too acquainted
with my own containment
Of the same
that if I was to compare
my way to another
I'd be full of despair
I'm not prepared
to juxtapose anything
But I suppose that's normal
it's not insane thinking.
This inkling I've had is humane,
human nature.
so I proposed that
the only way to change
and end my affliction
is to expose myself to the abnormal
without being so formal.
The simple act stepping outside out of my comfort zone
away from the dull drone
is the start
with a little effort
I can look at life
through my rose-tinted glasses
La vie en rose!
engross with all things new
everything that is composed
of this Earth,
is now worth so much to me
I'm no longer afraid to compare
I loudly and proudly proclaim
that I do not take the same way
everyday
sometimes I sway from the mundane
cause I've ordained my self as a free man.
brand new me, who's not scared to see or be or even peruse the new.
This pure philosophy is the cure and is now imbued in my soul.
So on that overdue cue,
I bid you adieu
Spoken Word piece
Maybe people did not realize what they had done.
The ****** of the people and their hope.
Africans are no different, so why were they treated as such?
It's better now! Tables with no signs that say,
"White Only."
Benches for everyone to use. One drinking fountain instead of two:
One on each side of the building.
One in the same!
And college, striving for a better future
Is an option.
Now, was that so hard?

Autumn night drive
we follow country lanes,
Singing Queen.
As, in the condensation
on the windows,
We write words
and draw shapes.

And through the lines
we have made
we glimpse
tree after, silhouetted tree
passing on by
when the sky,
Dark as it is,
Still displays
the very faintest hues
of orange at its base.

And behind the words
we have written
we see
mysterious lights
drifting through some distant field.
And I find myself
made strangely aware
of the way in which
the world has always continued
to breathe
and move and live,
Each night and day,
Far beyond the enclosure
of my eyelids.

Behind our seat belts,
We are still,
While the world moves around us,
We're coming from somewhere,
And we're on our way home,
What does that mean?

When we were in the city,
In the town,
In the streets,
There was a plastic bag
caught on the plank of a bench,
And a ball stuck in a tree.
There was a man wheeling his bike in the twilight,
There were walls and walls and doors and floor...
And walls with yellow white squares on them
That got smaller as they reached the sky,

I saw life in the squares,
A family ate dinner,
A man was on the phone,
A woman read a book,
And a man drank alone.

The faster we moved,
I watched their bodies blur,
They do it everyday,
What does that mean?

Like cold coffee, the fun of the taste is gone.
too cold, just like my feelings
All Alone.
no one drink it, they refuse to add hot coffee on it and fix it
instead they throw it away and replace it
they did the same.
my heart felt like a cold coffee
but when I'm with you...
you made me feel better, you drink me even though I'm cold and you drink my sadness away

Softly...
even here
the winds of change...
breeze through.

Destiny...
and history...
are turning...
Cogs in place.

Hell...it actually feels like
... 1968!

The Hippies
have all grow old
and are now
the voting majority.
Think about it...

They're rolling a doobie...
and affecting real change...
one organic, patchouli soaked
volunteered,
re-purposing project
after another.

The "big picture"
is simply a poster...
cut into small bite sized
puzzle pieces...
we are all skirting the edge...
still unconnected.

It is the age of...
focusing, clearly...
on purpose
and integrity.

The storm is clearing...
and insight,
has an electrical charge...
zapping us all
into action
into submission
into our future...

The message
thunders clearly...
and resonates succinctly
and justly...

Calling for us all
to...Do...
"What you CAN DO...
purposefully for-going...
whatever it is,
that you CAN"T DO"

"I AM"
becomes...
We are...

Maternal society  yearns...deeply
waiting for it's turn
not asking permission...
Just doing the next right thing...
and taking the steps
necessary...

To be seen...
far past equal...
On the edges
of unnoticed

Dropping labels
and be recognized
for what I bring to
the table...
not whom.

Every color that we see has a name to you and me.
I said that mans hat was red; you said his hat was green.
I said that woman's scarf was orange; you looked at me with scorn, and sternly said no my love, I told you that color is red.
Laughing loudly; you asked what for.
I pointed at a running squirrel. Giggling I told you I'd never seen that color before; With one stern look my fun had froze, darling that's no squirrel it's a white rose.

Over and Over I told you the colors I saw from prickly leaf, to sunshine warmth.
And Over and Over you corrected my words saying sweetheart those colors aren't apart of this earth.
I would smile and shake my head saying you were right. but in my head that wasn't brown at all.
And so it went, and little by little the world began to dim.
Sunshine warmth turned into yellow, and night abyss to black. And with the transformation of my colors my heart and soul changed too.
But it's okay after all I'm just like you.

I may be twisted,
I may be crazy.
But remember,
In reality we are the same,
Equal.
You are just like me.
No matter what you tell yourself.
I am you,
And you are me.

The colour I see in… perfect darkness?
In german we call it Eigengrau. It's beautiful name for such a colour, and a beautiful colour for our eyes.
It's a colour that takes everything away, turns it into nothing, giving you everything.
Sounds strange, like a paradox, you might think now.
Maybe, probably, most likely it is like that.
"Nachts sind alle Katzen grau.", is also something we Germans tend to say. All cats are grey in the dark; meaning that in the night, everyone is the same, we can not tell them apart anymore.
So the beautiful colour, a noun, called *Eigengrau" basically makes us all the same.
Sometimes I wish we would always see other people in Eigengrau, because then, even the last of them would realize that we are all the same, no matter which religion, sexuality, etc. we have.
Eigengrau: (n.) "dark light" or "brain grey"; the colour seen by the eye in perfect darkness // origin: german
