I sit by the window
Staring out with hope
Gloomy face eyes low
Captive in this castle
A solitary dreamer
Waiting for the one
Riding with her sword
My dauntless damsel
To rescue me away
far-far away from
this deranged world

I wonder though
What amuses you more
Am I less of a man
Or do you doubt
A woman's valour
Capable of Creating
Life in her womb
Open your petty mind
Break thy stereotypes
Crush the misogyny
Prove to the feminine soul
Chivalry isn't dead anymore

THEY GO,WE DIE
Shubham Solanki Sep 2019
What if trees could move
Would they stay where we do
Would they filter our CO2
I say the answer's NO.

They would rather want a place of their own
Away from humans with axes and saws
Where they'll be at peace
Doing stuff like photosynthesis.

Wonder what would happen then
Wait,Don't bother,Do not say
We'll all be dead anyway!
climate change is real,it is about time we act consciously and help plant more trees. Global warming is coming for us all.

Once upon a time
In a land not so far away
Wait, Sorry that was right here
        Last summer this very day
        I bought three bunnies
        black white and grey.

        before bringing them in
        I worked all things out
        built three wooden warrens
        poured milk in separate bowls
        As I put them down
        like a precious prize
what they did then and there
        took me by surprise.

        All three baby rabbits
        latched onto the same cup
like allies in a fight pit
        they went slurp slurp slurp
But I tried to let that slide
maybe they were hungry and dazed
Later that night I put them to bed
in their wooden boxes side by side

        Waking up the next day
what I saw blew me away
        cuddling together in one box
there they were cozy and gay
        Do they fail to see
        the difference in their color
like we the "righteous" humans do!
Don't they feel superior to one another
like we with our clever conscience do!

Are we the savages or are they?
        Is humanity just a cliche?
        From cavemen to civil beings
are we too evolved to see
        Death doesn't discriminate
        So why should we?
We all were created equals and as equals, we shall live

All about 'Her'
Shubham Solanki Apr 2018
You cannot grow a pair of elegance
Definitely not her eyes I suppose
For it was as beautiful as it sounds
Like one of those unicorns I propose

Not a Rapunzel by her hair
But sure from her smile
Titanium hard words of her
Disguised the feather soul inside

A sweet incarnation a carefree soul
It's a tale of one such girl I know
Daddy's girl she was not much into pink
But It all changed before she could blink

Choices she made ****** onto her desires
All she wanted was to fly free and higher
Screaming inside she burst into tears
While in the world outside she hid her fears

Sought for company as her thoughts start to run
For Only in the loneliness she encountered her demons
It ain't a fairy tale however it may seem
An easy way out is all she could dream.

Love is the origin of Art
Shubham Solanki May 2018
What is Beauty?
The origin of Art they say
Word to the wise
that's bit of a cliche
May I ask you again
Oh cynical human
Is it beauty you see
with these lustful eyes
Or is that greed
cloaked as desire
lurking in disguise
Let me just say outright
Love makes you see
what's really beautiful
Hiding in plain sight.

To my demise
Shubham Solanki May 2018
Running after you love
Is like chasing the sun
Always in my sight but
never getting any closer
Yet you light my life
with the shine of your eyes
and all I want is to touch
knowing I would burn

Now I am getting familiar
With the starry night
Intertwining with all
the darkness inside
Catching fireflies in the sky
Hoping they could fill that void

Mazed moths flying into fire
Sudden urge of life to expire
Makes sense to me now
If I be the flying bug
and you my demise somehow
then i will have my grave dug
surging willingly to you
longing for one last hug.

Fountains
Shubham Solanki Jun 2018
I see the fountains
brown blue and gold
architect's heart and soul
a sight to adore
for eyes too sore
from day's turbulence
an' crushed conscience
searching for an exit door.

one moment of magic
is all that it takes
when the water jets out
with all its mickle might
an' signs of subtle finesse
above the surfaced stress
into that carefree sky
and suddenly you sigh
as if you soared with it.
Small things in front of us can help release our stress, worries at least for a moment or two we just need to look for the beauty it beholds.

and it was all my fault...
Shubham Solanki Jun 2018
I sat there shaking
      silenced by the noise
      your lips were making
      all the while contemplating
why do I bear with you
      when all you do is
      rip me through
      ***** about failures
      when you couldn't prove
      that you ever loved me
and my body's not a tool
      for your pleasure plunging
a bag you can go punching

Your actions didn't speak at all
      perhaps overwhelmed and appalled
      by your words too tall
      to cover up the shortcomings
      of your shallow commitments
      finally taking a toll
and now that you see my heart sore
      yet your eyes don't realize
'Twas my soul you had to adore.

What about love?
Shubham Solanki May 2018
Write about love i implore myself
Like a little boy's plea to his father
About the thrills of a plane journey
Neither of them ever had

But how could he **** that zeal
Or dull the shine of those curious eyes
So he spuns a tale with a heart so pale
Reliving his old fantasy as if it were real

Staying put sure is mundane
But not when she's right there
Eyes closed dreaming something insane
Her hair swaying all across her face

Sometimes she would smile
Clutching his pillow tight
Unaware that her Paramour
Is awake and yet asleep by her side

How a gentle kiss on the forehead
Did pacify all his overwhelming emotions
And just one warm hug
comforted her soul ousting fearful notions

When all her silly desires
Were met by words of praise
And all his fears turn into fire
As she whispers "I know you're brave"

How could love be so easy
When life is so **** hard
Truth be told it's selfless and scarred
But In the race for survival
Compadre it's a headstart

At the end of the day
It's up to you what to portray
I say love's like the sun in the snow
But then again how would I know
For I'm just a father doing what's told!

Sold my Soul
Shubham Solanki Apr 2018
Had Dreams yes I made promises
Lustful Desires of love and riches
But I failed Down and Distraught
Did something I should have not

What's been done is done but ain't Gone
My sober mind says repent and mourn
Sorrows I bestowed says apologize
Cause it's too **** late to realize

I sold my soul to the Devil
The Devil inside of me
Dealt myself for my dark desires
With the Devil inside of me

One **** dark night it came to me
Crawled in my mind said make a wish
What I put on stake I couldn't forsee
Asked for a price i gave him my leash

What I wouldn't give to go back
Or to forget what I did in the past
But It all comes back to haunt me
Makes me cry for this day be my last

I sold my soul to the Devil
The Devil inside of me
Dealt myself for my dark desires
With the Devil inside of me

To the Artist
Shubham Solanki Jun 2018
The art within you
can't be subdued
lest wrecking thy soul
so i say own not atone
an' once you know
the salient source
channel it right
inspire sullen minds
for 'tis meant to share
with some love to spare
Know what inspires you and share it with the people you love.

We are what's Wrong
Shubham Solanki Apr 2018
All Humans shall act humane
I can't vouch would you pray tell
For demons are not benevolent
Have no honor nor soul to sell
Like a wolf wearing sheep's scent
Howling while the whole flock wails

False beliefs have kept us gripped
Superstitions consuming Sanity
Like icebergs sinking humanity
Innocence skinned out by hungry beasts
While we're running scared
Of things that don't even exist.

Once so sacred and pure
Religion today's a troubling issue
There's unity in diversity you sure
All I see are zealots chanting 'boo'

Don't take the Lord's name in vain
It's a bad omen father used to say
Little did he know what kept him sane
Could be the reason for riots someday

Envy Greed and lust have ganged up on us
About time we sober up give a shove
One for all and all for one
Bury thy hatred let's rise above
Rebel with a cause not without one
With a little bit of sanity little bit of love

Forget the differences be humans for once
This world's doomed until we stand up
Small portions of service from each of us
Could change the course of even the inevitable.

Promise
Shubham Solanki Apr 2018
I know what you've been through, it took me aghast
Solemnly I swear I don't judge on your past.

You've lost all your faith in love it appears
Give us a chance put aside all your fears.

In life not just verse I'll prove you're not cursed
Those three magical words, you'll say em first.

You say you're Tough to love I say it's worth a try
For It breaks me you know to see you cry

It's Broken is wounded not your body but the soul
You'll laugh with eyes brighter I'll give back what he stole.

I give you my now and all the next to follow
Trust me I promise For it's never hollow.

Dear ......

As you're already aware, I've been working from home for the past few months post the corona virus pandemic. The availability of necessary resources apart from the sense of safety while teaching has allowed me to focus and dedicate my time productively . Additionally, this pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down and has claimed the lives of three people in my own family.

Although I am sure you have well founded reasons to have us work from campus, my parents and family members are very skeptical about me leaving the country to attend school again especially after the unfortunate deaths of my relatives and reasonably so.

Teaching has always been my passion, powered by my will to nourish young minds and in order to continue doing so I'd like to request the chance to keep working from home at least for this academic year. I honestly feel that me working from home for a few more months would not lead to any setbacks, on the contrary I will be able to provide my students with utmost care and attention.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
