Now I'd like to tell you of a liquid And a beverage clearly divine It matches the holiest spirit And most blessed communion wine But it's not to be found at the altar Of the temple, the mosque or the church You'll see it in glasses lined up on the bar Wherever the pensioners perch Oh Gin, Gin, fabulous Gin Finest concoction there ever has bin A knee to the crotch and a kick in the shin To him that speaks ill of that heavenly Gin I had a great aunty called Floris Each morning she'd sternly arise With a fire in the pit of her stomach And a merciless scowl in her eyes But thanks to a magical fluid By the end she was quite the reverse And her face was serene and so tranquil As they bundled her into the hearse Oh Gin, Gin, glorious Gin Remover of troubles and varnish and skin There's many a baby that wouldn't have bin If not for a bottle of beautiful Gin Edith was crippled with cramp of the back And terrible gout of the thighs Her walk was askew and her bottom had swelled To a rather astonishing size But with Gin in the morning, the noon and night She was right as proverbial rain She still couldn't walk but now couldn't talk So no one could hear her complain Oh Gin, Gin, medicinal Gin Bracing your face with a permanent grin Cleans up the silver but tarnishes tin Joyous the juice of the juniper, Gin Tis a regular modern elixir And a kick in the liver to boot It's companion for many a mixer To the tonic or blending of fruit Instilling a mighty contentment And removing all traces of rage Though it's mainly imbibed by ladies Those of a particular age... Oh Gin, Gin, magnificent Gin Clean as a whistle and sharp as a pin Puts hairs on the ears, the chest and chin Of nannies and grannies all guzzling Gin

your words so sweet they rotten your teeth. guzzling up your lies so we wont see. it'll be a battle to the death of our dignity. a fight between just you and just me. who will be the first to commit the worst? actions so painful but the memories more like knife work. they'll fade away and only be remembered as plastered faces. all that will remain are cigarettes with their lipstick traces. and to end with nothing but disposition, all those unaccredited good doings, all that wasted ambition. -dh

Memories More Like Knife Work
I am from first impressions as shaky feet grip unstable rock. The path winds endlessly in front of you with unsure direction. Moss devours the cool, ancient limestone. A satisfying crunch echos with each determined footstep over dried and fallen leaves. Sometimes not knowing where you are headed leads to the best destinations. I am from beauty everywhere. For what is not beautiful in it’s own dilapidated way? Certainly the sun, setting over silent waters in a rainbow of peaches and soft yellows, is astonishing. But is not the misshapen tree, aged and withered with time, as pleasing to the eyes? Time has beaten and bruised it, and it still stands proudly, bearing every single perfect imperfection, for the world to see. I am from adventure. Standing somewhere that no one has stood. Seeing something that no one has seen. Living something that no one, not a single person, has lived before you. I am from a rocky cliff face. With water slowly deteriorating nature’s well-seen splendor. It seems that too many have made their way into the daunting dark cave, squealing with childish delight as they fly off the unsteady ledges. Yet every time you see it, it manages to feel like you are the first one who has ever set foot in that cool sea-cave. I am from blend out, not in. I am from water and time carved boulders. Not one the same as the next. Beaten by the endless undulating waves from an ever-full lake. Each one has a story a few million years long. Each fracture, crack, hole, scratch and blemish is just another page to a book still being written. I am from what is the difference between ordinary and extraordinary? That little extra. I am from that little extra. I am from a warm spring night. Just listen. Can you hear it? Every lonely frog croaking, every peanut guzzling blue jay singing, every leaf dancing in the tender breeze has a story. Every footstep, every tree, every rock, every grain of sand, every soft wind has a story. I am from I never want to put down this book.

JESUS emptied the devils of one man into forty hogs and the hogs took the edge of a high rock and dropped off and down into the sea: a mob. The sheep on the hills of Australia, blundering fourfooted in the sunset mist to the dark, they go one way, they hunt one sleep, they find one pocket of grass for all. Karnak? Pyramids? Sphinx paws tall as a coolie? Tombs kept for kings and sacred cows? A mob. Young roast pigs and naked dancing girls of Belshazzar, the room where a thousand sat guzzling when a hand wrote: Mene, mene, tekel, upharsin? A mob. The honeycomb of green that won the sun as the Hanging Gardens of Nineveh, flew to its shape at the hands of a mob that followed the fingers of Nebuchadnezzar: a mob of one hand and one plan. Stones of a circle of hills at Athens, staircases of a mountain in Peru, scattered clans of marble dragons in China: each a mob on the rim of a sunrise: hammers and wagons have them now. Locks and gates of Panama? The Union Pacific crossing deserts and tunneling mountains? The Woolworth on land and the Titanic at sea? Lighthouses blinking a coast line from Labrador to Key West? Pigiron bars piled on a barge whistling in a fog off Sheboygan? A mob: hammers and wagons have them to-morrow. The mob? A typhoon tearing loose an island from thousand-year moorings and bastions, shooting a volcanic ash with a fire tongue that licks up cities and peoples. Layers of worms eating rocks and forming loam and valley floors for potatoes, wheat, watermelons. The mob? A jag of lightning, a geyser, a gravel mass loosening... The mob ... kills or builds ... the mob is Attila or Ghengis Khan, the mob is Napoleon, Lincoln. I am born in the mob-I die in the mob-the same goes for you-I don't care who you are. I cross the sheets of fire in No Man's land for you, my brother-I slip a steel tooth into your throat, you my brother-I die for you and I **** you-It is a twisted and gnarled thing, a crimson wool: One more arch of stars, In the night of our mist, In the night of our tears.

Jesus was looking impatient It was already quarter past nine He was sure he'd sent out invitations And he'd turned all the water to wine He'd promised a memorable banquet As tomorrow he'd surely be dead But the shops had been short of a few things So he'd just had to settle for bread When a knock at the door made him flutter He adjusted his dress and his hair He opened and bid all assembled "Wipe your feet and then sit over there" They shuffled and took to their places But they looked slightly I'll at their ease They could see all the wine and the bread rolls But what of the ham and the cheese? Jesus said grace in his fashion "Cheers Dad" with his thumb held up high "But be careful, this bread is my body" "Now who wants a nice bit of thigh?" They tucked in with nervous expressions He'd been guzzling since they had arrived He explained "It's my blood in these bottles" "And without it I'd not have survived" The apostles were forming conclusions Their boss had been ****** all these years But the wine washed away their objections And the music drowned out all their fears So they partied and danced on the table They played twister and tidily-winks Then stumbled off out to a nightclub Because Judas was buying the drinks They caroused and they conga'd till morning Till their stomachs and bladders had failed And that's how young Jesus got hammered And the very next day he got nailed

A day in the life of a married white collar worker
Do you really need that second slice? Don't you dare to super size! Guzzling down large sugary drinks- Do you rally think that's wise? Your hamburger is much too large I'd cur it down to size until its like those square ones that White Castle serves sans fries. I taught the City not to smoke in that I was thought wise. Unhand that Nathans hot dog! It will go straight to your thighs. I guess I'm just a Puritan, my happiness undone by the thought that somewhere, someone might still be having fun.

Mayor Bloomberg as "The Nanny"
Oh waiter my dear fellow There's a beetle in my soup He's swimming around the croutons In a never ending loop Oh waiter tarry hither There's a slug inside my pie He's guzzling the gravy up And the pastry's gone all dry Oh waiter while your present There's a mouse under the chips She's built a fence of runner beans To guard them from the dips Oh waiter please attend to me There's foxes in my drink They clambered in a while ago And plain refuse to sink Oh waiter hurry back to me There's a walrus in my cake He bellows if I dare approach And makes the jelly shake Oh waiter fetch a napkin There's a horse...

Oh Waiter..!
1. The Race Card: Whether it be in suggesting that anyone who doesn’t vote for him because he is black is probably a republican, or in blaming Bush administration racism on a slow response to Hurricane Katrina, Obama is quite comfortable playing the race card. 2. Anti-Indian: After the Obama campaign released a paper disparaging other candidates for their ties to the Indian-American community, the chairman of the bipartisan US India Political Action Committee, Sanjay Puri, stated that the Obama Campaign was “engaging in the worst kind of anti-Indian American stereotyping.” Of course, Obama denied any hand in the racist document put out by his campaign. 3. Corrupt Buddies: Tony Rezko, a long time friend and fund-raiser for Obama, was indicted last fall on federal charges that accuse him of demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state business. When asked about his friend, Obama said, “I’ve never done any favors for him.” This turned out to be a lie, as evidence turned up proving that Obama had written letters to city and state officials praising Rezko’s business practices. 4. Wal-Mart Ties: While bashing of Wal-Mart’s labor practices in public, Obama has been profiting from their business through the money his wife made as a member of the board of directors for a company that produces food for the mega-corporation. 5. Religious Ties: Is Obama a Muslim? Is he a Christian? Nobody is 100% sure, but it is true that Obama was raised in a Muslim family and at one time attended an Islamic school. He currently claims to be a convert to Christianity, but some are concerned about his Muslim upbringing. 6. Anti-Second Amendment: Obama is one of the most anti-Second Amendment legislators in the country. He supports a ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons. 7. Gas-guzzler: Obama might attack American automakers for not making enough environmental friendly automobiles, but when he goes home he drives a gas-guzzling V-8 hemi-powered Chrysler 300. 8. Obama Ringtones: The most annoying campaign tool ever. 9. Obama Girl: I take back what I said about the ringtones. This girl is far more annoying. 10. His Unelectable Name: Barack Hussein Obama, ’nuff said.

I Love The Discipline… I love the discipline of form and meters. Crummy, yummy twitterings To turn a base, base/superficial Into something interstitially aesthetic, helpful. What it is that gives this gift I’ll never know, But there it is – a discipline addictive; A dictation from below; Not just adding to an increase in IQ, Nor the storehouse of expressing, Nor of word when crossword puzzling; No, a serendipity with aspects heavenly. A guzzling from an endless well of secret knowledge, Sacred knowledge for the few. But earthy too. Anyway, as we of poet’s tree like saying, When you find an impulse that you can’t resist, Don’t, you hear, anti-resist, But kissed by It Continue till the whole caboodle* springs your noodle** And the lights go out. I Love The Discipline…4.13.2018 The Processes; Creative, Thinking, Meditative III, Arlene Corwin *caboodle |kəˈboōdl| (also kaboodle) noun (in phrase the whole caboodle or the whole kit and caboodle) informal the whole number or quantity of people or things in question. ORIGIN mid 19th cent. (originally U.S.): perhaps from the phrase kit and boodle, in the same sense (see kit 1 , boodle ). ** noodle 2 noun informal a stupid or silly person. • a person's head. I Love The Discipline...
THE ROSES slanted crimson sobs On the night sky hair of the women, And the long light-fingered men Spoke to the dark-haired women, "Nothing lovelier, nothing lovelier." How could he sit there among us all Guzzling blood into his guts, Goblets, mugs, buckets- Leaning, toppling, laughing With a slobber on his mouth, A smear of red on his strong raw lips, How could he sit there And only two or three of us see him? There was nothing to it. He wasn't there at all, of course. The roses leaned from the pots. The sprays snot roses gold and red And the roses slanted crimson sobs In the night sky hair And the voices chattered on the way To the frappe, speaking of pictures, Speaking of a strip of black velvet Crossing a girlish woman's throat, Speaking of the mystic music flash Of pots and sprays of roses, "Nothing lovelier, nothing lovelier."

Testimony Regarding a Ghost
*Paused on the veranda   for a poetic tête-à-tête, we sipped vintage wine   and spoke of days gone hither       when we were much greener,   tripping the nimbly light    and guzzling cheap beer into       the wee hours of night's obscurity, wiser and older, yet still imagining         one day we'll conquer the world, resigned to this present moment      we comfortably reminisce,                midst the effervescent                                 bubbly of reality*

Bubbly of Reality
What do my memories taste like? There lies on my tongue— An atomic bomb: a purported speck, with no chicken pox skin situated upon such. I spat it out; I wobbled on and on, stomping the microscopic intensity into the sludge. No one sees; how pleasant… My shoe’s underside slit it— a paper cut broiled to the infinitude degree— Preposterous conundrum! Slam! I fulminate! I screech, the needy baby I am! My guttural heave strews in the wind: deformed limbs on the newer generations, an abysmal thread. Supposedly bland, but then: a guzzling bleed from you and I gushes on and on; but oh, was it needed! Listen to my writhing! Soak in my curdling roaring! I am the mafia mastermind, but I plead to guilt! The vandalism cannot be grated, but I will revamp, spot clean, and hunt for a vaccine. I cannot cure a scored scar, but rest assured: I will endeavor to solidify the clot.

Marble black bark grow bed sheets of parchment attached by     strings. Spillage of pink arises from the abdomen. Fused clothing fibers substitute layers of bark......... The vivid aroma of rot and feasting maggots harmonize...............                                  A cadaver drilled by burrowing insects. Beetles, flies, pismires, and parallels. A carcass crammed with 200 seeds. Bulbous seeds in the nose. Deposited bulbs rooted in brain tissue. Thick specks of white nuzzle into flesh emerge. Squirm out of the cubicles.  Insects feasting simultaneously............ A figure emerges from the edge of perception. Routinely gorging the cadavers vital delicacies. Amid spouts of fainting spells....................... Grabbing lumps of brain matter. Shoveling it towards his gaping hole. Ravenously consuming the bland ashen chunks. Gripping the cranium and sipping the diluted *** Sliding two slippery marbles into his gullet. Then suddenly publicizing his medals amid his fangs. Deteriorating into slush immediately........ Piercing the stationary ticker with talons. Shortly guzzling the dense scarlet metallic droplets. Promptly the sticky liquid cerise matter slithered into his craw. Hurling the white speckled rims simultaneously in glee.  Than consuming the exterior synthetic.........     The corpse is convulsing..wheezing..........chest withering in pain. Man devours his own living corpse, neglecting to swallow his toes. A daily phenomenon……to devour yourself.   What of the toes? Looted by a motivated businessman the next day. “Oh the painstaking horror of humanities hunger,” the motivated businessman then asserted into thin air.

The Feast
Marble black bark grow bed sheets of parchment attached by     strings. Spillage of pink arises from the abdomen. Fused clothing fibers substitute layers of bark......... Haywire. While sabotaging agencies are corrupting, I lie frozen, Downloading how to translate this brainwash without constantly erupting! Haywire, United Suits of America, drug-guzzling, anti-christ injecting poison in the fruits. Wake to terror, bleed from pain, get pushed from mankind, from our freedom fighters’ propensities to feign. Frequencies being altered, from 432 to 440, Unaware of the subtle control they have taken of our ***** of corti. Receptors are jarred our balance mistaken, slowly these trails are weakened, and souls must awaken! Rhythms of nature being projected on a screen, too safe to go outside, we have become rotting cans of packed sardines.

JARRED RECEPTORS
Our grandmother sat in the corner, an irish-plaid towel hung over her legs, in a wheel chair, drinking two litre bottles of apple juice and orange juice, the little droplets hanging off her chin, her head tilted back. She said as a little girl, she would always try to get as much vitamin c as possible if she felt herself getting sick. Now she just drowned herself in the stuff. We kept telling her orange juice is not a viable cure for cancer, so she started drinking apple juice too. She got diagnosed with cancer a few days after our grandfather died. They say couples always pass within a few months of each other. My grandmother hated my grandfather, so her vigorous orange and apple juice guzzling was really an ambition of divorcing his name from her in death; she didn’t care whether she passed or kept on living another hundred years, so long as no one associated her death with his. As I left I locked up, remembering to leave my key in the door for Rooty (whenever he got home). We could only afford one key, and couldn’t afford a doormat to leave it under. I told grandma if she just went two days without buying lotto tickets, we could get another key. She says it’s just her luck that one of those days would be the day her ticket goes to someone else. I didn’t see it mattered, she was gonna die any day now anyway. She wants to win so bad I often think if she did win, she’d die right there on the spot, her life’s greatest ambition crossed off the last line of her to-do list, and being too dead to claim it would be forced to forfeit the prize leaving us here alone with one key, a cellar full of juice and still no doormat.

Tuesday lasses we all have classes get up and go there’s no time to waste join the flow there’s no reason to wait everyone’s hustling coffee guzzling bus shuttling paper shuffling syllabus assessing apple-watch checking there’s a fall-like feeling making things more appealing file off of the bus and join the crush trudging up science hill thru the doors up the stairs climbing in pairs, in class, at last, setup and relax. I open my binder and hand in the assignment the guy beside me can’t find it. and the TA moves on the guy’s upset and I get it he’s frantic and grim I pretend I’m not watching him as he ransacks his rucksack too late, they’re taking roll carelessness takes its toll

Tuesday morning
Mile after mile the endless motorway spews out its metal contortions hum your V6 engine rock with impatience under branded lime-green sun strip protectors brimming with breeders of brooding black BMWs 7-seater convertible prowess gleaming off-roaders go faster striped boy-racers silver slick steamroller Range Rovers revving executive supremacy nestled annoyingly behind a Grand Jeep Cherokee all stop in motion by a pedestrian button for a little old lady with shopping, And me. So many people in so many cars gas guzzling un-muzzled bulldogs drooling to be first the excesses of acceleration the freedom to roam to gloat or to garner well you can all stay in line with the press of a button and a finger like mine Moses in green spandex parts the Metal Sea for a little old lady with shopping, And me.

The Crossing
i have mentioned i like morning *** but i have forgotten to talk about *** late at night. after one am. when you’re drunk. when you’re sober. when all you can hear is the sighs of the mattress and the far distant squalls in the streets, the sirens mewling past as your cries muffle into blackness. the later the better, for you tend to hold on tighter, curl your legs behind his knees until he buckles. your name from his lips sounds like rainstorms. it is when your inner demons are released. when his fingers dig deeper, his teeth scrape harder. he pulls until your scalp is burning, throttles until nothing but spit emanates. it is dangerous, it is lovely, it is living. you bite each other’s lips until you taste nothing but him, guzzling him until your internals are churning and gushing with him. you remember thinking how one drunken night at three am was enough. but then he came again at four. then he came again at five. and it was at seven in the morning when you were covered in his crux you couldn’t turn away. you wanted the morning *** you wanted the late night *** you wanted to be flooded and whisked until your body was nothing but his testimony.

morning ***
"the battle is over! the war has been won!" claimed the soldiers while tallying scores. although blood had been shed, soldiers severing heads rejoiced all across the moor. "someone call the king! we must tell the king! we now own this here land, how divine!" but the king had been found being renegade 'round his opponents, while out guzzling wine. "I killed my dear brother; beheaded my mother to service you and this ****** rotten realm!" so I'll see to it, you! if it's the last thing I do, that you're found drinking wine in hell!"

the renegade king
I'm sorry, ma'am, that I forgot your three cent bag credit. Yes, I know there is a sign right next to my register that says "don't forget the bag credit." Yes, I understand that this is not a skill required job, that my work takes absolutely no effort but do you understand the following: You're an absolute piece of **** You're an upper middle class white woman who resides in a wealthy area complaining that I didn't save you a ******* dime on your 3 bags you brought because you are trying to "save the environment" by using less plastic bags Oh, let me guess... You drove a car here, did you not? If you were a real ******* activist for the planet, you wouldn't be driving a gas-guzzling SUV. Or are you flaunting a brand new BMW or Mercedes Benz? You disgust me. There is something I know, I will never be anything like you. I won't ***** at a cashier about being deprived of a dime and claim I am saving the planet. I'm not going to work behind a desk and be a Class A piece of **** office worker that takes out their hatred of a ****** job on other people. I'd rather be a struggling musician, barely even making enough money to support myself and still I will be happier than you are. because i will be doing something I love instead of worrying how my surplus of money is depleting. For you ma'am, I will open my drawer and give you that dime you need oh, so badly. You know what, why don't you take two because you clearly need the money. Have a great ******* day!
