So delicate
Fragile
A glass figurine, standing on tiptoe
Frozen in a ballerina's dance
One gentle tap
And it shatters
Glass shards
Cover every surface
Digging in to the soles of the feet
Surrounding it.

Pearl flakes, delicate shards scatter,
shatter. Woven silently, heavily softly, slowly, wafting. Swirling into sparkling sundials.

The love that binds our sensitive hearts
Has powers so full of magic
Upsetting its delicate balance
Can cause damage so often tragic.

With all your heart you must work at love
Stay the course, don’t falter
The heart responds to kindness
For true love not to alter.

The heart is such a mighty thing
It will guide you through your day
Its steady beat sustaining life
As your emotions find their way.

Look after your heart, follow its lead
And you may yet find love
It’s as sure to be about you
As there are the stars above.

sometimes
there are rocks in my hands
and only tight clenched fists
can keep them from smashing
the mirror world below
into delicate shards of broken promises.
i long to float among the clouds -
one with the stratosphere -
but the rocks weigh me down
so that i cannot touch them.
reaching
but never reached.

people in glass houses
aren't supposed to throw stones.
so i am sure to keep locked
my loaded palms
hiding in plain sight.

only your lips
with homemade ice-cream touches
can coerce my stagnant fingers
to melt back into warm flesh.
skin bones knuckles joints.
i release the stones over a waterfall cliff -
rushing rolling rambling -
and they ripple in the water
and sink to the soil of the riverbed
making a home for fragile fish
in search of shelter.
LDR life.

it's agonizing to know
that the remains of
the touch from
your delicate hands
that were
on my body

(and my soul)

will now be
placed everywhere
onto another
girl

She’s clothed naked

Naked to the world

The cold seeped through her

Warming every vein in her body

She shed a leaf, proving her point

The sky answered back, breaking a joint

She shed another one, a petal of her frozen beauty

The trees turned a blind eye, so they won’t have to see

She has given quite enough, she couldn’t shed anymore

It’s time for her to wait

He slowly left

Leaving her empty

“Why?” she asked

He never looked back

But she knew the answer

The more he says,

The more she’ll get hurt

The longer he stays,

The more she’ll have nothing left of her.

Because he is the winter

And she’s just a delicate flower
