Some nights I leave my body,

Some nights I go to sleep,

The forbidden gamer
Johnathan locke Apr 2015
I am forbidden from winning,
But no one really tries.
I am forbidden from loosing on purpose,
But no one really dies.
I'm forbidden to stand alone,
But everyone fears me.
I'm forbidden to shed a tear,
So no one will ever see me.
I'm forbidden from looking weak,
But I was never strong.
I'm forbidden from being right,
But you will hate me for being wrong.
I'm forbidden to even try,
But everyone thinks I go hard.
I'm forbidden aim high,
So I play the wrong card.
I'm forbidden to let them down,
But they don't appreciate my support.
I'm forbidden to beat the game,
So I have to abort.

When a gamer has no game,
He is really bad.
But when he is to respected,
It makes him really sad.
This is a true story. Games are my life, but no one likes me for it.

The gardener and his rose
Johnathan locke Jan 2018
The gardener tends to his plants with love and devotion
From the daisies to the tulips and the hydrangeas in rows
But one flower he gives the most attention,
Was the beautiful, blood red, prickly rose

Every day the gardener cared for the flower,
Savoring the sight with his eyes and the scent with the nose
Yet when he goes to touch it, however,
It's thorns would cut him and from the wound, blood rose

Sometimes to himself, he wondered
Why something he loved so much
Would oppose him so violently
And deny his touch

Even as he asked himself, he knew the flower didn't know why
But he knew he had chose
He would always love, till the day he'd die
His beautiful, blood red, prickly rose

I am the shadow of the moon at night,
Creeping along out of sight.
I am the  eyes starring at the back of your head,
The sweat on your back and the breeze in your hair.

I am the rustle of the leaves on the left,
Smelling the weight of the fear you heft.
I am the  ominous feeling in the air,
Watching you walk right into my lair.

I am here when I'm gone,
For my presence lingers long.
During the day I disappear,
Come back at night if you dare.

As the full moon lights up the night,
The silvery butterflies take flight.
He stands alone, in all his glory,
And now I begin our story.

He was trained since youth,
And he fights for the truth.
At night he goes into battle,
against those who come from the shadow.

Lives to be honest, fair, and wise,
To defend his home he shall rise.
When the battle is done at the rise of the sun,
A safe place for his family he has won.

At one point of time their numbers were vast,
Now he stands the very last.

And those I'm referring to better know who they are.

To the school teachers who think there cheerleaders,
Grow the hell up.

To the teachers who think being our friend is more important than teaching a lesson,
Grow the hell up.

To the over obsessive fools who rearrange the school constantly,
Wisen the hell up.

To the ******* who spends more than 75% of our budget on sports,
Wisen the hell up.

To the the teachers who force students to act like their children,
Get a ******* life.

To the fools who spend their time on Instagram and Twitter to much,
Get a ******* life.

To the schools that don't know their priorities,
Get your *** in gear.

To the teachers who still are kids, for the last time
GROW THE HELL UP.

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million bombers fly
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave craters everywhere
You'd think me mad
But I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth burns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is as crazy as it seems

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bolts
As they tried to teach me how to talk
A foxtrot above my head
An assassin beneath my bed
The dying world is just hanging by a thread
(Thread, thread...)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth burns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is as stupid as it seems
(When I fall asleep)

Leave my door open just a crack
(Please take me away from here)
'Cause I feel like such a paranoid maniac
(Please take me away from here)
Why don't I tire from killing peeps
(Please take me away from here)
When I'm far too happy to fall asleep
(Ha-ha)

To ten million souls that died
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they screamed in hatred
(screamed in hatred)
But I'll know where several are
If my life get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar
(Jar, jar, jar...)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth burns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is as bad as it seems
(When I fall asleep)

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth burns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because my home is bursting in the streets
If someone can sing this, you have my support.

One sunny morning,
In the middle of the night,
Two dead men got up to fight.

They stood back to back,
And faced one another,
They drew their swords and shot each other.

One deaf policeman heard the noise,
And got up to stop those two dead boys.
If you don't believe my story is true,
Ask the blind man, he saw it to.
This is probably the most clever poem in existence, but the author is unknown. I take no credit for this work.

Sunshine and blossoms
Johnathan locke Mar 2017
When a flower blooms in the sun,
It will grow with beauty and joy,
Living a short and merry life.
But when a flower blooms in the dark,
It grows in a twisted and tormented shape,
It's pain and anger digging its roots deep,
And it's life will last ages.
Our children are our flowers,
And we must bring them the sun.
Even though my sun was abandoned for another blossom,
I still remember its loving energy.
I have a new sun now,
Brighter and warmer than my last.
I'm still in the dark,
But the light beacons me with the approaching day.
Soon it's my turn to bring the light on my own garden,
But first I must weather the night.

Tearful nightmares
Johnathan locke Nov 2016
Have you ever had a nightmare that wasn't scary, but still left you scared?
Have you ever had a dream where instead of waking in a cold sweat from fear, cold tears rain from your eyes?
Have you ever watched your siblings killed, one by one, and be completely helpless as the monster finishes you off last?
Have you ever dreamt about someone you have known your entire life, someone that was so close to your heart you would shatter if they disappeared, then wake up and realize that person didn't exist, but you still remember the love you had for them?
Have you ever felt the life drain from your limbs as you crumple to the ground, the shock of death just barely creeping into your heart before you wake up?
Have ever held a baby boy in your hands, knowing full well that is was dying? Have you held your own son, trying to convince yourself that your heartbeat was his, and those breaths you heard coming out of you were of his doing?
I have. By dreams I know what it means to die, but I also know that the death of those I've seen around me hurt way more than my own. I cherish them because of this, and I would rather take their fate instead than have any of these dreams come true. This is my oath. I refuse to lose them again.

Broken thoughts,
Drift around.
They float through the shadows,
Without a sound.

It makes me sad,
For those I've forgotten.
For only their voices,
Remain not rotten.

As I grow older,
My memories decay.
Until the me of old,
Will someday fade away.

In this place,
Of broken dreams.
I see my past,
Leak out of my seams.

I mourn my age.

If you change their story a little,
On their past you leave a scar.

The reasons they died fighting,
Why they did what the did.
The reason they taught those important lessons,
To your ancestors to their kids.

Why they brought people together,
And tore countries apart.
Created devices to keep us going,
And weapons to stop your heart.

What does it mean to be human?
Does it mean you can die?
Does it mean you can be hurt,
When a loved one says goodbye?

Why do we like,
Our mortal flesh?
Logic dictates,
It doesn't mesh.

In our bodies,
We get hurt, we bleed.
Our bodies fail us,
In our time of need.

The answer is hard,
And often forgot.
In our quest for reasons,
This answer is the one that is sought.

Its because we can laugh,
Its because we can cry.
Because it doesn't end,
When we say goodbye.

Its because were content to live,
In our lives drowned in pain.
Because as long as we can love,
We will stay on this crazy train.

There was once a girl,
All alone in this world.
Ignored, unseen,
In her head, a lonely swirl.

As she grew, her beauty to,
All around her suddenly turned nice.
The boys where endless, all looking for her hand,
But her heart was of ice.

She met with all,
But fell for none.
Because in the past,
They had only offered shun.

Then he came,
A strange traveler in town.
She expected him to be like the rest,
But he barely noticed before he left.

Used to a life,
Of ignoring all around,
She did not like it,
When the table is turned around.

She waited for him to return.
And he came.
Two moons later,
Walking in the rain.

She watched him wander,
From place to place.
She saw him give up,
His energy a waste.

He sat down,
Under a tree.
With no end to the rain.
He went to sleep.

As he woke, he stretched his back.
The rain had dissipated.
He glanced around, and to his surprise,
He saw the girl had waited.

He got to his feet, waved goodbye,
And started to hit the road.
Looking back, he had no idea,
of the seeds he had just sowed.

At mid day, he stopped to eat,
At a dinner that was close by.
There he met the girl again,
Whom ha had said goodbye.

She asked where he was going, he said "I don't know"
"I go were the wind takes me".
She tells him he is different.
"You haven't tried to woo me".

He laughed, a merry man,
"I have no reason why.
No one ever cared about me,
So why should I even try?"

Then she saw, just like her,
He was always alone.
But unlike the ice, in her heart,
there was a fire in his.

She says "why do you travel?
Don't you ever go back home?"
He said, with sad eyes,
"My home is were I roam"

It struck her than,
That he had nothing.
So she said with open arms,
"than I shall be your home, darling"

From then forward, he often went home,
To were the girl like him would stand.
As her heart began to thaw,
Their love had just began.
finished the poem as promised. I hope you like it. This is my first romance poem.

You who violently ignore the fact that you have lost ours,

But what about the blight?

Do they see a monster,

Johnathan locke Apr 2015
From when our life first blossomed,
We have caused destruction.
Since our first steps in our life,
We are surrounded by misfortune.

Since our first word,
We have spoken lies.
Since our first argument,
We slaughter each other like flies.

Since the dawn of man,
Our souls have rotted.
But the strands of fate shall be,
Forever they are knotted.

But even in a life of sins,
There is always a pure.
For in each and every one of us,
There is a vital cure.

When you reach your hand in friendship,
The light shines down on them.
For only when you stand together,
The righteous sprite will walk with man.

Compassion is our savior,
Greed is our undoing.
As long as we have friends,
Strange patterns the fates are sewing.

The first type are the pawns,
The ones who follow the rules blindly.

Then There's the second type of person, the players.
These people know about the game,
And use their power to resist and control the game
In their favor.

Then there's the last group of people, the masters.
These people learned of the game called life,
And they don't like what they see.
They change the world to meet their ideals,
For better or worse.

So can I ask the question?

Johnathan locke Apr 2017
When summers wind blows away winters frozen fingers,
Away, away I fly.
Back to my home where my life began,
Away, away I fly.
All the while my heart pangs for you,
Away, away I fly.
I look forward to coming back home to you,
As away, away I fly
A letter to my love, letting her know even while I'm gone I'll always be here for her. I love you kitten

Defiance of a teenager
Johnathan locke May 2015
You can chain me to the ground,
You can cut me over and over.
You can take away all hope,
But this will get you nowhere.

You can take away my stuff,
But you will never hurt me.
You take away my freedom,
But that will never cage me.

You can glare all you want,
I will not care.
You can destroy all I have,
But it will not even scare.

You say I'm ruining my life,
But I know the truth.
You just want the score on my head,
To  reperfect your youth.

I do not fallow orders,
Unless you have my respect.
If you put yourself against me,
A struggle you will expect.

When I put my mind to it,
I'm as stubborn as a mule.
And when you put up a fight,
To the fire, you add more fuel.
