Out you **** spot !
You're getting in my way at HP !
There must be a place ,
an origin for the space ,
One step above a stick and sand .
One of paper and pen in hand

One before the glaring screen
Long before that clicking thing
The subtle scratch of pen on paper
Gave us truth , revealed our maker

The affection when it was held
The value of it to tell
A creation that had a birth
One that grows and shows it's worth

Through the pleasure
When I discover the treasure
Of black ink mating maker
to pure white innocent paper

No escalators to heaven , no free rides .
Just one long hard climb , one step at a time .
You can only get to Heaven
One step at a time .
I felt the sudden change in the air
As icy breath clung I was made aware
Outside my window the shadows fell
But it was too early for night to tell
Still it was cold and dark I know
Then came that knock upon the door
"Thomas , whom I come looking for
Won't you open up for evermore ?"

I shook with fear , for all the years
Suddenly I was filled with tears
I had always made my covered bed
And in absolution I held my head
Still you have no earthy clue
When comes that knock upon the wood
"Thomas , oh Thomas ,  if you would
Unbolt the lock now if you could."

I stood in silence , made not a sound
But by the shadow upon the ground
I knew he waited so patiently
Waiting ! Waiting , there for me
"Come Thomas , the seconds few
You cannot avoid what's in store for you
Do not bother looking for the key
For I have kept it safely here with me ."

I said I was not afraid of Death
That I would not bend in my final breath
Then I remembered my father's passing
How the stillness became so everlasting
And I knew I was no more special
That life is certainly full and spacial
So I opened up the door
"I am Thomas , the Thomas of whom you do implore ."
They pledged their forevers
no matter how short it was to be

They were brutalized , beaten and stipped naked

Then thrown down , whipped and then nailed

To the wooden cross for eternity

Such was their love for
each other
I was before this dusty moon
I was before this star was born
I traveled for billions of years
Just in time to arrive here

I passed by depression's deepest secrets
I watched as galaxies
Were swallowed whole
Taken by the huge black holes

My carbon atoms from a long dead star
Collected by earth's magnetic pull
Has added me to it's list of grievences
Making me up for just this instance

No one knows just who we are
From where was our lost dead star
Crowded together we shed a tear
For the loves of our lost lightyears
All heavy molecules come to this planet from dead stars that collapsed and exploded sending their heavy matter in all directions into the universe . We are the remnants of those long dead stars and again someday as this sun of ours expands , swallowing Earth and all of this solar system , it will again collapse and explode casting us out again on a new voyage into the unknown .
I ate all the stars last night
every single one
Then I had a comet cone for dessert
Now I have starburn
and I'm burping up rays of light
that sunburn my throat

The comet cone was too sugary
So I let it spew away
Now I have to learn
all the new constellations
And of course
it's all Confucius
The kiss of sea salt leaves
rouge the face of age

Youth drowns in the vacant eyes of the old man
as the flood gates release the sorrow of lost glory days

Each breath rises heavy in the memories of the one who is calling from the cemetery trying to raise dead dreams

When did the rust turn steel into crumbling dust that is now collected by the winds of time

Only the lost look of youth remains in the glazed eyes and the steely rust of time eroded by the winds
How does it feel to be ten feet tall ?
Inside your heart is pumping steel
Your mind is made of glass
Though through the steel light cannot pass

"Who is it ? Who is it ?
In your elegance so you stand
When you fall blame the glands

Steeeeeeeel . . .
Shatters . . .
Glass !

Your smile is ten miles wide
Your talk has me beguiled
Steel turns to rust
When no one's there to make the call
Steel shatters glass

Diamonds will cut the glass
But you claim your hands are tied
So now you begin to complain
Your mind is oh so fried
Well too bad as I say ,
"Steel shatters glass ."
Crystal thorns
Jade for stems
Mother of Pearl
for petals
that cracks in wind .
You can collect all the loves
in your past life
and store them in your heart
and have one giant heartache
Thus it begins
a flickering candle by the pane
Moist drops on the same
Clouds ******* dressed in white
scurry on by

Your pale face on the pillow
as asleep you are
As candlelight races up and down
the peaceful lips you impart

Low rumbles tell me not far
The flash tells me to prepare
And a sudden gust moves the trees
like Swan Lake in green

You stir not nor respond
You continue to slumber on

The clouds have enmeshed
in wind , rain and light
Thunder barks  and growls
Trees bow to their might

Still you drift on in another world
I am trapped by storm
WhIle you fly by free
in peace that's unadorn
The sail was raked
The mast did groan
The spray would wash
My life's on loan

And when I saw
The black veil raise
I let out a plea
To God in Praise

Oh Lord I pray
My sins forgive
I'll live right
Just let me live
Sometimes I like to sit in the dark all
alone . In the silence of my room .
Listening to the thunder in my head
and
the flashing of my thoughts against
the walls of my past . Soaking in the
resolutions of the pouring down disdain .
Lightning streaks stab the sky
Laser strokes cauterize
With steel of scissorhands
Needles stitch ignited strands

The black is sliced shadow thin
Transparent throughout within
The light is infinitely hued
Whites tinged in blues

Wicked wasps of whispered rays
Staged a comeback across the page
Nothing new here in the making
Nothing new here for the taking
I look at the dismay
of my so called day
When everything seems
to be falling apart
I find myself collecting the sum
of my parts
Putting myself back together again .

With a grin !
I opened up today
with cereal coated
in sun's rays

I ate every last flake
And got sunburned
Now my tummy shakes

I asked Brenda Sue
If I could kiss her lips
"What ! You certainly can no do "

Then it began to rain
I had no umbrella
Was my refrain

Quick give me your coat
and she put it on her head
Like a boat

Then we ran in the drench
Comming down big drops
That soaked me hence

We made safety
Behind the store
She so dry reliably

Handed me my dripping coat
Then kissed on my cheek
Left handing me a note

Next time on the lips
The flowers of the Sunflower
turn to greet the sun everyday
As the sun travels across the sky
the flowers follow
And as the sun goes down
they droop over in mourning
The sunlight passes through
the shadow of my smile
Leaving the singed remains
of the fools that I beguile

Heaven sent praises
I keep locked up in a box
All of my Earthly worth
I keep in the drawer hidden in a sock

I am suspicious of every
hello and have a nice good day
I check out all of the closets
I'm sure you're out to make me pay

Your laugh and smile is rubbing
away at my phony bone
I know you're certainly up to nothing good
I can't wait until you leave me all alone

Your sunshine gets lost in my
shadows to your smile
Your hardly honest words just walked away their last lonely mile

So don't mind if I pull the blinds down
I prefer the shadows here within
This emptiness deep inside
will always be my friend
Keeping my eyes on you

considering all the bliss

and . . . what I would miss

if Sunny never rose

Was it just a dream

There so still you lay

The theft stolen warmth

cheeks cold as winter clay

Death's shadow across lips

without their glaze

Forever etched and readied

for eternal grave

Just a nightmare

Troubling enough to awaken

Long rejected fears

and tears and tears and tears

But I see first significant light

I shake off the fright

Seeing your breathing ease

and all will be Sunny now
The sun's rose of petals pure orange in glow

The dawn cracked and broke into thousands
of eggshell seconds

Leaking light spewing around corners of deviant darkness

Wisps of moisture twisted in agony as sunshine pierced their hearts as if Dracula devoured

The quick of eye penetrated the shadows of desperation as fleeing phantons fled

The wax of their ways melted leaving feathers of wing spiraling down

The blood of quills spilled upon the newspaper whose headlines shouted ,
"Poetry Is Dead !"
My sunset is just a memory away
A faded thought of light to say

I find I've lost
at such a cost

With the seconds in thought
By the minute
I have to pay

The hours were dull
The days the same

The years flew bye
To my dreadful shame

I love to embrace
the final light

But my home is in
the calm of night
Watching the final rays of light disappear
Let love's sunset into my heart
With sullen greys tinged in pink
With last rays of warmth
Before there comes the chill

Let the last breath of fulfillness
Ease around my heart
Take away the sunny memories
Softly as the light fades away

Fading fast empty embraces
And kisses that have no taste
As softly whispered I love yous
Fall into the Atlantic sea

Come nightness surround now
My empty heart
Console my ache and care
So come now , sunset of my heart
Sunsets :
winter , spring ,summer or fall

To me the best time of day's all

I watch without anxiety
In the reflection
of your eyes
there's the yellow glow of warmth turning
forever blue

The offering of a hand full of goodbyes
slips off my fingertips
crystallized ìn sunshine
tears and whys
Holding my headache in hands
Across the creek a bridge that spans
Desperately
Deliberately
Unselfishly

Caught a glimpse of the Apple's sigh
Holding a bag that's full of lies
Mockingly
Forensically
No pity me

Taken for a fool out back
Taken away what I even lack
Gonna find out where I live
Just to dig a grave that's big

Yup ! Yup !
There's going to be a party tonight
Invite your friends to my delight
Won't you step into the light
Party time , all the time

Casting the sun upon the moon
The night has come and the day be soon
Reality
Believably
Finality

Digital fingers on a pocket watch
Pulling the trigger back a single notch
Synical
Maniacal
Hold the call

Yup ! Yup !
There's gonna be a party tonight
Won't you come to my delight
I promise I will give you fright
Try me
Buy me
Don't deny me

The house is called none return
It's like a Hell that burns
There's no need for concern
Desperately
Deliberately
So selfishly
Lay down the music low
No place for the light to glow
Lay back and ease on down
Wash out on tides that bound
Untie every knot and release
Dwell in the options called peace
Let no words disturb your trust
Let no touch turn to lust
Become one of the many
In the fabric of time and plenty
Barely breathe , so relieved
So silence conceived
Surrender to the night
To win you must lose the fight
I used to swim across the channel to rattlesnake island when I lived
in Florida . We all knew the sharks loved
the funneling action of the channel to the bay . And we were always aware that there were sharks near by . We saw them every day . Yet the allure of the island just a scant one hundred yards away was to much for a 10 year old to pass up . So I would swim across holding a rod and reel high so it would not soak in sea water . I admit there was apprehension evident in my strokes and kicks but I made it across . On the other side there were no rattlesnakes anywhere .
Just gorgeous unclaimed white beaches and aqua clear water . Needle fish scooted across the surface and schools of mullet jumping were all I could see . I did little or no fishing , just running and jumping into the surf . What an afternoon it was . But the sun slid down and we knew we had to leave soon as the big sharks move in at dusk to feed into the night . So we stepped into the swirling waters of the channel and then plunged in and swam . Sharks have all black eyes . Cold  black eyes and an expressionless grin that is all business sporting a mouth full of jagged dagger teeth . They are cautious up to a point but no one knows where that point is . Once that point is reached . . . well you don't want to see that point while your in the water . So about half way across the channel we see a dark shadow swim by in front of us between us and the beach . We know it's a shark , a big one . Perhaps more than fifteen feet long . We can't stay where we are at , but we fear to move on . So taking a deep breath we swim on slow and steady . Finely the beach is at hand , our feet touch sand and we run up on the beach and collapse . Then with heaving chests of fear we look back only to see the shark swim by . Needless to say that was my last visit to rattlesnake island .
Your heart was always so fickle . It would open on one side then swing back only to open up to another .

I learned there was no such thing as ,"Wait on me !" You held every second down to a tee . And when you yelled 'Fore' you came crashing down driving me to the other side of the green .

I sing hymns in the Church of Holy Dreams . A cathedral dedicated to Sergeant Pepper whose perseverance lingers in the rafters along with the pleas of the discarded .

Someone whispered in my ear,'We're not obligated to leave."
Please !
Take a man's love
and he will give you anything .
And you will have everything .
Then you are able to give him life .
Chinese ,
It wasn't cheap
So I charged it to the government
Taxpayers never had a say
Those in power legislate it to be that way

Of course they had to have all new names
for all the old items that were the same ol' same

Peking Duck was renamed Apollo *** Luck
Szechaun Chicken became known as Polaris Back and Black
Sweet and sour shrimp turned to Lunar Prawn .

Always abundant parking but you best stay near .
When it's dark out who knows what's out there to fear

Well I'm on my way to Mars .
Going to be a pioneer
One of Musk's first ever transplanted engineers

Sure some will die
I'm counting on it that
it won't be this guy

And when I do
I hope to be buried
on Ole' Red under the Red , White and blue Martian sky
Paving the way for the followers to come

Oh and when you come make a stop on the dark side of the moon for Chinese takeout
It's a long way to Mars

Over and out !
Beneath the bends of Barrymore
On the southwest winds she chants some more
The clouds scoot by beneath the moon
Some say she's crazy like the loon
Dressed in black she cackles back
Tossing ashes from a sack
She throws her body down
And moans and sobs into the ground
A dagger she does draw it forth
Holding it up for all its worth
She shrieks and damns her birth
And plunges it deep into her heart . . .
So ends the life of the despised young **** . . .

Now the owls come silently in
Alighting next to still warm skin
All walk around the disposed young beast
Only uttering "Who" to say the least
Then the great owl comes fluttering in
He'd be a giant if he were made of men
He collectively surveys the scene
Takes a few steps before he says a thing
"Take her body to Evermoor"
The great one orders and implores
And all the owls take to wing
Holding the remains of the breathless thing
And take her earthly shell away
And as drops of blood fell from the flow
to the earth a white rose would grow
Leaving a trail
To the land as some will say
To the sacred woods of Evermoor
Yes sacredness in evermore

No words will I have assayed
To be beyond the mental test
Forth then would I be the rube

The snow shivered in the heat
Tears fell from crystalline eyes
so white . . .
. . . the mountain gathered them up
and let them roll down his back to
the river . . .
. . . the river said ,"I'm overpool but I will make room for one more . . . or thousands  . . .
The crystalline tears mingled with the red mud and became blood brothers . . . and they flowed to the mighty sea . . .
. . .  "Welcome to my domain my little one's . I knew your forefathers and mothers from long ago . Here you will do my bidding as long as you stay . Here my windy friends will make froth out of you . And my big brother Sun will bake you and my sister Moon will entice you with dreams that can never be . All are here to test you , burn you , pull you apart , toss you around until you are ready to follow in your parents footprints . . .
. . . so the Sun scorched and the wind blew hurricanes in the east and typhoons in the west and the moon by night gave false hope in the way of impossible dreams and the ancient Sea watched all without saying a word . . . .
. . . then came the day the Sea was satisfied and said ,"Leap up my little ones , your day has come , ride the clouds to your new home . Some to the north , some go to the south , the rest go east and west . Take your precious gift to the land who is dying for your taste ." And one by one the tears lept into the clouds and ladened it's burdens and the winds cartied them away to the Plains and Forest and Valleys and to the Mountain Top . There the tears fell and froze and collected on the north face of the
mountain and the mountan was was glad .
"Welcome home my lost little one's . I'm so happy I could cry ." . . .  and he did .
"My drops of tears I will turn to sparks of fire !" William Shakespeare - Henry the VIII , act two , scene IV .

I'm
mixing alcohol . . .
with silver tears of fear

While ,
I'm looking back
on all the agony
of my years

Whose
demise . . .
is now drawing nye

I dream of being Pheonix
with . . .
red plumage and desire
to be
consumed
by the tears I have set on fire

So . . .
let me pour another drink
and
rake the coals of my bier

While waiting on the
flames to appear

So I can
set my teardrops
on fire
"My drops of tears I'll turn to sparks of fire ."
Shakespeare :
Henry VIII , act II , scene IV

I'm

with . . .

Song : Set Fire to the Rain
by Adele
I'm
mixing alcohol
with . . .
my silver tears of fear

While . . .
I am
looking back on the agony
of my life
Whose demise
is drawing near

I dream of being Phoenix
with
red plumage and desire
to be
consumed
by the tears
I will have set
on fire

So . . .
let me pour another drink
and
rake the coals of strife

So I'll be
setting my tears on fire
while
waiting on new life
I sometimes can feel
your mental embrace
through all these miles of thought

Even a faint wisp of breath
there upon my face
i've caught

And my lips can almost touch
your kiss even in this separation
of all our time and space

We fight and you demand
I fight back and take a stand

But in the end I surrender
all of me to you

Because I know
I am nothing now
without the hand of you
One wears the wages of sin
As war's protecting bibs
Where arrowheads of flight
Cannot pierce the pump within

Taste the salt upon the sea
The sea where sins are drowned
Upon the hearts that sit on sleeves
The head of smiles we crown

Back across the cross we bear
Hear the pounding of the condemned
Perhaps we will never be more
Than the crown of thorns we wear

So the cherry tree has fallen
It's bark black with disease
Lime should cure the problem
I will be planting trees
I used to gather
where the bridge crossed the bay
Pausing in the ebb of
the changing tide .
I tried to capture
the moment of the ebb's decay

She came to me
with soft words of call
Left messages saying
she's not sure about it at all

The sea follows the
ways we know not
our separation was complete
we left our ancient past behind
to tread upon this land
on our own two feet

Shake the dust from your call
dress the shadows
make the sun fall
words of deliverence
wet the tongue's
parchment and thirst

The tide remains constant
demanding , relevant
with unrelenting presence
It is married to the bay
In a never ending struggle
of give and take
I've been all across Texas , and in return Texas has been all across me

Jim Bowie took a stand at the Alamo
When he had been ordered to retreat
He was perhaps protecting his hoard of gold found in some lost central Texas mine next to Mexicans and the twisting mesquite

Austin has a city limits
Full of out of state conceit

And it's a two day crossing
While it's snowing on one side
The other is summer heat
They grow sugar cane in the south
Up north winter wheat

My sister was born forsaken
In Wichita Falls complete
Black widow spiders , scorpions
The backyard full of rattlesnakes
That we used to beat

She was the only rose
that had the Yellow hair
And when she left Texas
She never went back there
To have the wind
shoved in face
For when or where
did earn disgrace
When suddenly
the collapse and fall
the rejection seemingly
of one and all
Oh where from where
do lashes fall
No worse rejection
on the wailing wall
I cut my thoughts
stitch and sew
And still for all
there is no show
Drops of blood
the sweat , the tears
for all of the
forgoten years
For now in all
that I can I see
There's no longer
a place for me
I crumple up
the final page
for I have been replaced
been so upstaged
the silence of the
white razor wire race
invalidates me
to my face
Look at that sunset !
Looks like an artist
spilled all his paint
on the sky . Look at how the rays of light have turned the wheat to gold .
Not even a rainbow
could add to the beauty before us . A gloaming grandeur .
Living in the past is draining all my dreams
Living in cheap hotels , you get to hear the screams
Every knock upon the door
Your afraid to open anymore
You don't have any friends
just enemies by the score

Every Tuesday you sell your blood
Every Wednesday you get drunk and fly like a dove
Every thursday you suffer feeling just like swill
And Fridays you take measure of your will

What became of your pride it has a price
You'll do anything to get to feeling nice
Weren't you mama's pride and joy
How could you sink down below this low

The winter's coming you ignore the chill
While your looking in the alleys for your next thrill
A few words and you turn your tricks
You don't like it but it lights your wick

You know everyday , as your search for your next meal
Your not above begging , borrow , even steal .
As you begin to shake and sweat
And cough around a lump inside your neck

You know it will end ugly on a cold dark night
No more room for an inside glance that might
Let you escape from this life of pain and sin
Addicts always lose , that's just the way the story ends
That was then and now is there
As sister Sara pointed out
We were young and stupid
But our ship harbored no care

The oak was new , fresh the smell
We climbed the rigging
of the mast of life
so fast , so well

"Get down you fools"
The old crusted would say
Seasoned in salt from life's
crashing waves and spray

We just laughed and brayed
Almost depraved
"Get lost old fool"
We were so cruel

We weighed our anchor
and dropped our sails
Little we knew
of the seas of Hell

The distant thunder
lightning's warning
It didn't scare us
Life was ours to plunder

But the oak did gray
It bent and buckled
The rigging's rope broke
some of us tumbled

Beaten and battered
We limped into our ports
There was no laughter
from our fellow cohorts

The crossing is done
Sun seasoned in wear
We are the old fools . . .
That was then and now is there
Inspired by Sara Fielder's poem "This is this"
The day
by daze
the days are due

Watching
the wallpaper
come unglued

I twist
and turn
within my skin

There's no relief
or chance
to win

I clasp
by grasp
with shaky hands

Woolen lapels
compels
to truth to stand

The paige
is paid
in skin and bone

The cannibal
enthrawled
"Welcome home !"
I read the open invitation
there upon your skin
The softest core of constrenation
demanding that we sin
Pressing firmly , there are no questions why
I envelope you completely the apple of your thighs
Into a world of firey Hell
As drop by drop the tension swells
I feel the need , the lust ,
and consuming fire
The thrilling rush of my wild desire
I surround your urgency
by drawing near
The exhilaration stokes your tingling fear
Sweet lips that never smile
Willingly go that extra mile
The intense heat and man made sweat
Brings us together tete a tete
