dear stereotypical people, you make me sick. i mean, who are you to tell me what i can and can't do because i don't have a **** why do you think that this is a rap? is it because i'm black? because i live on an island, i must be wild and uncouth? and whenever i speak my mind, i'm another rebellious youth? dear stereotypical people, you see my glasses and call me a nerd? and make fun of me because I know of words you've never heard? oh i'm sorry, that i took my education seriously. and i swear if another person says 'girl you're so tall, you have to play ball.' i'm gonna run head first into a gaddamn wall. dear stereotypical people, why do you trust the white man in a suit but not the black man in the hoodie? is it because he looks cleans and exudes goodie goodie? dear stereotypical people, please mind your business which i'm pretty sure doesn't include how that teenage mom and her child are living. dear stereotypical people, why do women that are open about *** make you wanna run away? i mean, i'm pretty sure it shouldn't matter what she does with her body unless she's your wife my God, why can't y'all let people live their lives? dear straight men that lust over gay women, NO WE DONT WANT TO ********* WITH YOU **** it, we like the same thing you do! dear people of the world, yes I live in the Bahamas no I do not live in a hut, eat coconuts and go on the beach every day. dear stereotypical people, i promise i don't hate you i do hate how you look down upon people that live differently from you, that see differently from you, that think differently from you. i would hope that you know that this world does not revolve around you, no one will stop being who they are because of you. don't get me wrong, some people hurt because of what you do. just think about how you would feel if it were you. my prayer is only that you think before you say. and maybe one day, you'll all see the error in your ways.

There, in God’s country, the benign ruler Had promptly burst out of the earth’s bowels. A sea of coconuts smothered, sultrily, The most unwilling moss-painted houses The banyan raised its feet high enough For hundreds of creepy monsoon-creatures. The journey began in silver slanting rain Waiting for streaks of pure white sunshine To crawl through upright areca nut barks. As the telephone wires went up and down A floating bird quickly froze in the sky. First the coconut fronds ran to the hills Then the chilly plants , go red in the face Inside, they of the uncertain *** beat the wind Out of their joined palms in forced cadence. The floor-mopping boy under our large feet Looked with money-wetness in his brown eyes. The train went spluttering for lack of puff While gravel stones hit its forbidden parts.

Girl U Got Me
Year after year purity of fire is challenged by evil, appeased with offerings A full moon looks on as winds stoke embers, flare flames to a flickering dance Right in the center of crimson blaze sits Holika, Prahlad in her lap - her arms a circle of heat White sparks fly from her hair, eyes smolder in fury; her mouth ***** in air, engulfs rice and wheat Wood chars, coconuts splinter, flowers singe smearing earth with ash. Year after year faith survives. Holika burns to death. By Unknown

She’s the girl who you'd always run back to, You’re the boy I’d always run back to. She’s the girl who gave you the chills with her beauty, You give me the chills with yours. It’s funny how times change, People you once loved now become strangers. But- she’s a parasite, Always latching onto you and taking what she can. A symptom of a parasite is disturbed sleep, She disturbs my sleep. When I close my eyes I see her eyes, Staring into yours. One cure for a parasite is coconut oil, But no oil or remedy will remove her. The thought of her makes me aggravated, Intimidated because really I’m giving her what she wants- you. I’d like to say everything was fine until she came along, However, she was always there. We are smooth like foundation, Then she comes along, our plates collide and the bumps in the road grow. Now, I’m not one to gamble, But I bet you’re talking to her right now. Sorry I mean, I bet she’s talking to you, Because we both know she can’t get enough. I know you feel bad for her and I know you love me, But why do you feel the need to type to x’s and give her promises I’ll make sure you won’t keep. See, bless her, she’s having trouble moving on, Clearly she loved you more than you loved her because you turned a page and started writing a new song. The girl doesn’t threaten me, I know we make each other feel new. The only thing that makes me hurt, Is how you aren’t letting her get over you. You compliment, flirt and put kisses, Just so she stays tame. But to her you compliment, flirt and put kisses, Because you clearly want her again. She’s the girl who you'd always run back to, You’re the boy I’d always run back to. She’s the girl who gave you the chills with her beauty, You give me the chills with yours. One cure for a parasite is coconut oil, You know her a lot better than me. Maybe she’s allergic to coconuts… Maybe.

Wanting to learn the jungle from the mattress, I set it outside, surrounded, by a mosquito net pitched unto two palm trees, in winter to avoid coconuts falling by the southern terrace; you should've joined me In February, I can tell you I never slept for carnaval.

Comfort
I wish I were stranded on a tropical island A tropical island with you You could make art from coconuts and starfish Yeah, coconuts and starfish might be a good place to start And I could build a crude instrument Out of a conch shell and driftwood And tightly roll a papaya leaf to use for a string Or two Then I could play and you could sing We wouldn't want for anything Serenading each other by the light of the moon... Every evening we could snuggle underneath the stars You could be Venus, I could be Mars We could lay our differences aside (except the good ones) I'm safe in you, you're safe in me, No need to hide I wish I were stranded on a tropical island A tropical island with you And we'd bake clams in the hot, hot sand Under the afternoon Sun And brew a crazy chowder using sea salt and kelp (help!) Then we'd make love on the beach as the water nips at our toes Under the setting sun when the day is done By a waterfall I'm calling you...

I saw a glazed doughnut, It made me go nuts! It looked so delicious, But it was not nutritious, So I decided, why not some coconuts?!

Two birds flying at night crash into each other and as they spin falling from a cloud of feathers and starlight they are reminded of a time before they learned how to fly... Will we fold into each others secrets would we fit each other like a spoon won't you take my hand and chase stars with me we'll catch them if they fall and bury them in the backyard of our childhood dreams so we can always find our way back there Chase the shoreline fly with a flock of airplanes we'll signature the moon as we dance our footprints upon the clouds swim with me through an ocean of bed sheets and Sunday mornings and we'll chase dinosaurs from our bedroom The warmest place in the world is next to you let me sip coconuts in your arms won't you plant my name behind your tongue that it may bloom in a garden of your smiles We'll find a beach to name after our children and serenade the ocean as it refuses to stop kissing the shore we'll use toothbrushes as tuning forks fake a limp at new years eve and ride the elevator to the highest floor and dance with me above the skyline 'cause if you sing me a lullaby of forgiveness I will keep you from all the broken promises we can finger paint sunrises on each other skin Be orphans with me so that we can name each other the way we once named the stars as if the constellations held the promise we could find our way home

If I ever had a pedal harp You'd be the first I'd play it to You'd be the first To hear me pluck My harp strings May your heart strings Play the finest melody ever And may your life always be The most surreal orchestra I hope you don't leave here May the Fairies dry your tears And wipe your pretty blue eyes If I ever had a viola or a violin You would be the first to hear it And I would teach you how to play it too But since I don't have those instruments All I can play for you is the piano And I admit, I am not that good at it If I ever wished a million wishes And all of them came true I would share them all with you You are the world's greatest Dad And I love you And so does God and all of His Angels and Fairies I hope you awaken to bluebells kissed with dew And fields full of blooming flowers And red crimson sunsets Overlooking the beautiful ocean That I talk about in my poems Surrounded by palm trees And gritty sand And sandy seashells Breezes tasting like coconuts and salt I hope you awaken to sunrays Glistening on the forest floor And shining across that sequestered path Take my hand and walk with me And I'll wish you the sweetest of dreams Dancing ferns, and lacy-green palms Waltzing Fairies, and flying birds Adorable Flamingoes Mossy islands And beautiful waterfalls Bubbling creeks And tall, tall mountains Like the finest patchwork quilt Singing rills Sparkling snowflakes And beautiful ocean treasures All of it I'd wish in your dreams The song of the pedal harp lulling you to sleep Along with the majestic songs of the double bass I love you, Dad and always will ~Marian~

Sun shines brighter in the west... Heat smearing enjoyed by rest... With coconuts to quench your thirst... You bet, we are the best... Fiji as a small country with a big heart... Welcoming people from all different castes... With majority population of Fijians and Indians... We are given the citizenry to be known as Fijians... Hindi, English and Fijian are the spoken words... Once you come you may never feel among odds... Hot springs, hike place, wonderful beaches... Friendly people and no dangerous creatures... Waterfall, country rides, water dives and much more... Am sure you would enjoy and not get bore... This is my home, a paradise heaven on earth... I seek nothing but to live here until my death... ©sim

From the Isles of Fiji
to make someone feel the way you want them to feel is to trade in your soul for a pizza without the mushrooms, sausages, pineapples, M&M;'s, pepperoni, cheese, tomato (it's pronounced toe-mato mind you) sauce, crust, dough and leaving all but an empty box on top of the garbage can. too bad for the floating astronaut, drunk on coconuts, when he left in his tin can. he's begun dancing on empty matter with all the missing pizzas. i guess their owners have been ****** and dumped in another swirling portal a long time ago when the light was flickering off on that empty street at dark(au contraire, mon cheri!), just threatening to die when you believed it was ageless? the night will never be a color. goodnight my loveless ingénue

*Boat was ready to leave the shore An Old man waving hands to get in fast People come running to the boat, The only transportation of the village Sitting in a tea shop watching The boat leaving with school students, working women, Fish sellers, vegetable vendors, Old age youths It was raining to make it more worse Back to home with an umbrella of palm leaves Calling out the number of coconuts ready to pluck A man on top of the coconut tree with his loops Courtyard was full of blooming flowers My favourite the jungle flame flowers Frog hops after the raindrops Some hot rice porridge and coconut dip Was kept ready on the table Drying my hair with a towel Had my porridge watching the rain, flowers, flies And my mother standing near me With an innocent lovely smile !*

apple did you imagine red? so did I which is weird because the apples I eat are kind of yellow asia I said asia not China I remember the time my history professor told my class to imagine asia I thought of an exotic country with arab sheiks and snake charmers the Chinese the Japanese chopsticks and the orient it was then that she pointed out "haven't Western ideas just messed with you?" and it was then that I realized "Wait; I'm Asian. I've lived in Asia all my life." how come I saw it as something foreign and strange? I've never even seen the things I imagined. I remember when I watched Big Bang Theory and the four friends sat down to Thai food Raj made the mistake of asking, "where are the chopsticks?" which led to Dr. Sheldon Cooper saying (in this paraphrased version:) "they don't use chopsticks. They use spoons and forks. The fork doesn't go into their mouth. They use it to push food unto the spoon, which then goes into their mouth." I sat there thinking.. well that's weird when a couple of months later as I watched the episode again I realized that's how my people eat! that's how I've always eaten.. the houses I picture in an average neighborhood are two story concrete structures with shingled roofs cul-de-sacs and oak trees my own house is one story of brick and wood it is beside a highway and surrounded by guava trees and coconuts I don't even know what a picket fence is.

Coconuts, Fall from the tree's, Knocking passerby's unconscious. They can give us sweet milk, Or what the locals would call "meat", But I'm pretty sure this isn't the kind of meat I usually eat.

Coconuts
Posing squirrels Legs crossed Hands on hips Chins held high And a smile to drive Your mind like A merry-go-round! Talking trees Strong limbs Thin and thick ******** for more space Their high and low Pitched voices Sending thunders through The ear-holes Of birds Zigzagging For escape Through the branches Dancing water Taking form of the Most beautiful treasures The eye can behold Then suddenly transforming To a most frightening sight! In one moment A nymph strumming the Horse gut strings Of an oak guitar An instant later A giant serpent All slim and Venomous goo With the head of The death crone The legs of a Rooster It's iguana tongue Searching for Your face! You look at your own Reflection in the mirror You try to speak to Yourself Only you have No mouth No ears No nose No taste or voice No ability to listen No smell But what's this!? You ask... My reflection has all these things! And with the Evil jest of a Jealous twin Your mirror self Mocks you! Poking out her tongue Dancing to music You can't hear And making exaggerated Sniffs of the Perfume air... All this with only your Eyes to see What a nightmare! Thank nature Our imagination Roams free in our head Not physically in our world! If that were the case... What kind of world Would we live in? Skeletons wearing Coconuts Singing karaoke... Hummingbirds ******* the juice From our eyeballs... Again I say Thank nature Our imagination Roams free in our head Not freely In our world! *Inspired at a festival, while I observed all the fun happening around.*

You found friction, when so many told you to slip down with them. You were the safety to a gun-wielding chorus screaming: "Fire!" Shoved from the Fourth you fought to protect, to being snowed-in, half a hemisphere away from the coconuts and palm trees you fled. Hotel room to hotel room, the flesh from your skin dissolves, piece by piece — like a nation's artifacts. Resigned to watching a comedian's suicide trend on Twitter — an individual who made it easier to laugh and forget the words: "Liberty and Justice for All." You should grimace. Silenced. Snowed-in. Unable to even say, "America — please shovel me out."

A Snowed-in Hero
one lazy tropical afternoon in June, a green coconut fell from a 15-foot tree in my backyard a tree I'd planted a few years back not in a climbing mood, I grabbed a 10-ft pole and stabbed the bunch of swollen nuts stab... stab... stab... then my neighbor yelled: 'pablo, pick one for me..' and I turned my head towards her voice, then back up the green coconut fell from the 15-foot tree in my backyard and landed on my face... ~ P (#Pablo#PC) (8/10/2013)
