I miss you,
I miss you so bad
It hurts to feel this way
I wish you were here
I wish I could see your face
I wish you could see me now
at my best
Every now and then
I think of you and butterfly's
Appear around me
It's a sign telling me that your still here
I feel it in the summer air
To my godmother Katie love you miss you

I was choking, and
You were a breath of fresh air.
I won't recover.
honestly, just a good beat
and a breath of air
can sometimes mean the world
to a suffocating soul.

Resting on the window sill
I gaze into the darkness,
peeling at my thoughts,
inhaling the sweetness of the Summer air.
A purple lightning strikes the sky,
and the thunder whispers,
as the clouds break away.
The warm drops cleanse my skin,
and fill the air with the aroma of newly cut grass.
I count the stars with my journal in hand,
recording my deepest wishes.
And once I'm finished,
the words seem briskly blown away into the Heavens,
each attaching to a star.
I close my eyes
as the calm storm sings me to sleep.
I wrote this poem in 1999 when I was 17 years old. I just stumbled upon it and wanted to share it.

Let's get some air
Oh, the air is nice
Smiles all around
So beautiful

I feel at peace
The trees nurse me back to reality
And it feels good
And I feel alive

We sit together
In the shelter of our friends
We talk about anything
We talk about everything

You talk, a lot
I listen, a lot
I hear you
I like you

Platonically, of course
I have feelings all the same
But you are beautiful
Your mind is beautiful

I feel calm and excited
All at once
I appreciate the gesture
Thank you for this

Does it rain? Maybe
I'm not paying attention
To what is going on around me
Only attentive to you

The branches dance
Whisper secrets to the night
Sit back and relax
The silence is okay

I'm glad that it's dark
You can't see the smile on my face
I'm enjoying this moment
I'm enjoying your company

It's getting late
Well, early actually
I take you home
We take our time

Gentle goodbyes
I will see you soon
And then we embrace
And I embrace the night

We both walk off
I shake my thoughts off
What a good night this has been
Goodnight, goodnight indeed...
Yesterday was a long day
Yesterday was a good day

When the world has no meaning
When everything you believe in is fake
When love and hope have left you
And you feel all alone
The only thing to do is stop and

Breathe.

Let the air clean you
Let all your thoughts go
Let all the bad things vanish
And be one with your soul.

Breathe when you have no answer
Breathe when you want to cry
Breathe when everything seems senseless
Breathe
Because the air is there for you
Giving you strength to survive.
Breathing is the hardest thing you'll ever have to do

Ascending among the brilliant stars,
Varied blue, white, yellow, red;
Distinct and somewhat poignant,
Draped beneath the sky overhead.

Orion unsheaths his weapon,
Ursa major does not roar,
These bears and men who cannot see,
Lend faces to the whispy air as they soar.

Dark clouds, dim lit and hazy,
Among the moon's soft shine,
Each image is reflected,
In the city's humble skyline.

Descending alongside comets,
Hot, burning, coarse rocks,
Break free from godly confines,
And dance among men, stars, and clocks.

Swirling coils of thick heat
Rise like snakes, reaching
Waving angrily in the air,
Poisoning us who cling
To the parched earth,
And stretch, up, up
Into the cool, tender night,
Whose cool fingers sooth
And gentle caresses calm
The angry snakes
Until they coil back down to sleep,
And then her gentle breath
Soothes, too, our troubles
And lays us down softly sleeping
Into the comforting coils
And warm bodies
Of the snakes

Just a wind that blows
On a fair summer's day.
No rhyme or reason
To my lovely, restless way.

Gentle sky filled with blue
Got my head stuck in a cloud.
But when the sky loses her light
And the dusk turns into night
Is when I'll finally speak
Aloud.

And I'll wonder,
"When will it be
'Til the silence
Finally sets me free?"
And I'll wonder,
"When will it end -
The bittersweet memories
That only time can mend?"

'Cause time passed
Me by, instead.
Like the birds flying
Over my head.

Another day passed by.
Man, the air's sure getting warm,
So I'll wait by my window
For the oncoming storm.

That's when the clouds roll in -
A dusky grey that calms my soul.
And when the rain stars coming down
From the sky's cumulus crown
Is when I'll finally feel whole.
Technically, this was a song. And look, it rhymes. It rhymes!
