Love is a ***** soup going stale but steaming like it's brand new; And I'm Oliver twist walking up to the *** with a rusty spoon full of desire and hope asking for more but getting none. Love is a white paper rolled so finely, full of sedatives and drugs; And I'm sitting by a fire reaching in for a log to smoke. Excuse me, sir, your pants are on fire. Yes, i am talking to you, sir. This is quite a mess you have made, you starry-eyed dreamer. Not that it was perfect in the beginning. Nothing is. When my grandfather got old, he made sure to dress well. If he was to die on any given day, he intended to do it in his Sunday best. My grandfather died in a unisex hospital gown. When i was growing up, Mom always made sure i wore clean underwear. It would be shameful to die in ***** ones. Speaking of growing up, i was raised on Reaganomics. It doesn't matter which side of the aisle you stand on these days, because Reagan defeated communism through the clever use of money. When my grandmother was set to pass, she faced the changing seasons with poise and dignity.  She was ready to move on, to reunite with loved ones lost. My grandmother died in a unisex hospital gown. My best friend, Peter, didn't put much stock in appearances. He was funny and sarcastic. We all loved him like a brother.  Peter's mom buried him in brand new Ecko gear.  He died in boxer shorts on the floor of a ramshackle apartment blue in the face from a ****** overdose. Thank god none of these people will ever need healthcare. Mr. President, sir, i am no Republican. i am an American. You do remember us, don't you? How silly of me...of course you don't. You were busy watching your legacy. i would have watched it better, if it had been my name at risk. My name is all i have. When Bill Clinton was president, he lied about getting a ******* But we forgave him. It was just a ******* It's not like it was our privacy or healthcare at stake. Or our economy. Have you dreamed about any of those things, sir? Or just your legacy? Who knows? How well do we ever know anyone? Christmas is right around the corner, and i and others have made you a fine gift, a lovely suit. It's invisible. You probably won't notice. No matter... one day you will have to remove your flaming pants. To try on your new suit. Or, god forbid, to put on a unisex hospital gown. And then you will finally see your legacy.

i watch for her as she slowly gets out of her car. what goes through my mind is how's her day so far. she's battled through the day surrounded by this disease. this isn't a disease to put anybody's mind to ease. i pray for her as she walks out to her car. i have to remind my hero that through it all she's my star. my prayer to God is that He reach out to keep her safe. let her do her best to help those who need her space. trust in God more and more each minute through the day. He's made up His mind for her so she'll be okay. i cherish my hero for i know she will do her best. be proud to be the best to help carry on the rest. so i praise her, i love her and i want her to be strong. fight your battle graciously and then you come on home.

"My Healthcare Worker"
A seemingly fine day ruined with one headline. Then another. And another. And by the time my phone stops buzzing the news couldn't be any clearer. We lost a battle today. A battle for basic humanity, a battle to our own autonomy. "Women" lost. "Women" should be afraid. "Women". "Women". "Women". Every headline I read talks about how scary the world is for women. Yes, the world is scary for women...or anyone with a ****** I don't want to make this about me. Because it's not. It's about every transgender man that fights for healthcare on a daily basis. It's about every non-binary person assigned female at birth who can get pregnant. and yes....it's about women. It's about people (men and women) who think their ideals should determine what I do with my body. It's about every pastor, minister, judge, and human being who feels they have a say in how my life is lived. Poetry has always been and will always be political. Poetry is art and art is expression of feeling. Today....I'm ****** I'm overwhelmed with a feeling of dread. The same feeling of dread I felt during the 2016 election. The same feeling of dread I felt the night of the Pulse Orlando shootings. The same feeling of dread I feel every time I think of wearing my trans pride shirt out in public. I'm not afraid to say how absolutely terrified I am....I'm just afraid for whatever is coming next. Sincerely, - Your friendly ****** having transman.

America, the land of lies America, the land of homophobia, America, the land of endless sin, America, the land where church and state are not separate, America, the land where we let a 3000 year old book dictate our laws and policies, America, the land where a man who can throw a football well makes 50 times more than a man who saves lives on a daily basis, America, the land of diabetes, heart failure, obesity, and McDonald's, America, the land where we debate whether healthcare is a right or a privilege, America, the land where company profits are more important than the well being of the human race, America, the land where we spend twice as much on healthcare than other country, America, the land where our overall health rating is 26th compared to other countries, America, the land where we claim all men are created equal, America, the land where a man can't marry another man, America, the land that promotes democracy by invading countries and forcing democracy on the people, America, the land where our education system is suffering constant budget cuts, America, the land of debt, America, the land of problems.

A mother’s limited knowledge of food choices, You can hear the kids’ voices, They want food, Screaming are the broods, They seek healthcare The little scared children. They could not afford to feed them properly as babies, And cannot afford it now, the ladies. “We are begging the government,” The worried mothers say. The widespread poverty, Lack of public safety in the North, Guns are everywhere, And violence is getting worse, All contribute to The plight of mothers Who want their children to be happy like others’. “We are begging the government,” The worried mothers say. Poor infant development, Premature death, Babies gone before they took a breath. Kids are not being vaccinated, And bad conditions are created. Malnutrition, All affect mothers and their Precious offspring. “We are begging the government,” The worried mothers say. PforR, The British government, And PATH, Put all of their efforts to make sure Kids are being treated. But still, Healthcare providers the country leave, And mothers are left with no relief, With no regret of leaving millions of starving kids, They fly to the beautiful turquoise skies, In order to get one more dollar an hour, They think it gives them power. “We are begging the government,” The worried mothers say. The mothers don’t give up, They want to be educated, Money has to be donated. With only technology, they can do it. The access, the supplies, the needed budget, and commitment, Will help children get the best treatment.

When the funding is cut So the hospitals shut That’s a Tory When the poverty bites And you lose human rights That’s a Tory Such excess Better reassess Better repossess Better get yourself private healthcare Overtaxed if you work Unemployed? Then you're scrounging on welfare When there’s bigoted views Blatant lies on the news That’s a Tory When the biggest and best Are too rich to arrest That’s a Tory But they’re lax Covering the cracks Never paying tax Claiming everything on expenses They can steal with a smile While they peddle their flimsy defences When they're guilty of fraud And they're banking abroad That's a Tory If they're selling your school When 'austere' means 'cruel' That's a Tory Too much spin Slogan and a grin Wearing pretty thin Bussing people in to applaud them Any law can be bought If you're well off enough to afford them That's all folks and remember, you can't spell Theresa May without heresy **

“You have to love your neighbor” He told to every throng But one by one they turned away He had to die alone His was a  voice Crying in the wilderness “I have a dream”, the dark man said, “Of peace on earth someday” But hatred reigned in other hearts And Martin was their prey His was a voice Crying in the wilderness The man born in Hawaii He struggles for the poor Healthcare plans are his own cross Where all can find a cure Is his a  voice Crying in the wilderness Pray all good men will recognize When hope is pushed aside To rise against the chaos Where love has been denied When truth is lost Crying in the wilderness

This is in dedication to Mr. John Grant a spokesman for Veterans for Peace local 31. When during the late Bush years we protested the Bushy Zombies in West Chester Pa. Quit drinkin' the cool-aid

There once was a candidate Ryan The right wing see in him their lion This nemesis to our healthcare Paul only fights for good wealthcare He voted with Bush to disaster The economy never fell faster Wee is his knowledge of foreign affairs If he gets the job we'll need daily prayers A bad Catholic some blogs call him Some hope pestilences befall him Many think he's no wiser than Palin That could cause Mitt Romney's failing He'll hurt poor folks; he'll hurt the middle We'll starve as old Mitt plays the fiddle So it would be better to vote not at all Than choose young Attila, this candidate Paul

Our Prospects With Paul Ryan
Our politicians preach hope While our nation struggles to cope Stacking woman into binders Deaf to all but hired reminders Treaties & agreements for peace While riots rage on in Greece Told that we are doing just fine As more join the food stamp line American banks engorged with greed Planting in free soil a debt ridden seed The next Great Depression has already begun & It matters not which candidate has won With our cancer ridden healthcare Attempts like duc-tape to repair Voting to raise the debt ceiling An American father kneeling Praying to God to find a job While outside “we the people” form a mob The 99% chanting in the streets Stubborn legislatures don’t budge from seats C-span listens to recipes from cookbooks A dull murmur of televised crooks Unemployment continues to rise Prophets sure of the world’s demise

2012- The World's Already Ended
the invisible hand is in my pocket pilfering everything and there's nothing i can do to stop it from robbing me blind it does not guide it only destroys personal expression under the whims of an outmoded model of economics capitalism a philosophy that subscribes to the metaphysical conclusion that a spiritual malady plagues every human heart a harsh chorus that rings like a melody of triumph in the multi-million dollar mansions of the 1% convinced we're born selfish it seeks to reward us for our own malpractice an edict predicated on social darwinism that forestalls the possibility of future charity as it drowns in the throes of misanthropy and butchers any hope of philanthropic community or basic humanity to vanquish our more maleficent impulses relegated to paying taxes to ensure the illusion of security while our money finances endless war and police brutality rather than healthcare or education they know if they keep us sick and dumb they can get away with ****** if the population shirks in horror from the looming specter of terrorism they can justify ubiquitous surveillance that robs us of our right to self-determination but people should not be afraid of their governments governments should be afraid of their people they say we can't be trusted that this is for our own good but i'll call their bluff that bull on Wall St. is full of **** and like a matador i'll entice it to lower its horns and charge when itsjust a hairsbreadth away i'll turn to one side and let it skewer the slave-driver raising his whip behind me that same skulking shadow that turns veterans into homeless wanderers begging for loose change in Central Park a pale horse haunting the aspirations of college students it leaves the poor and oppressed shivering after dark and overburdens broken backs god doesn't hold up the world like Atlas we shoulder the globe now watch us shift the weight brought down by the people you tried to suppress this is not some petty expression of vengeance but the rallying cry of a dream deferred exploding out to meet your injustice mark my words we're taking over the world
