And if you take it too seriously,

Is it truly vanity
to not settle for the mundane?

Why should I have to explain

for wanting to swallow planets whole
and become celestial,
that yearning to immerse myself
in all that is strange and wonderful.

Nothing feels like home;
Home is where I  AM.

to dwell in this dream
called reality.

As I’m standing at the balcony
While the city is asleep,
I’m the part of cosmos’ alchemy,
Facing meaning of the deep.

We sit and mourn the darker days for a second or two

People curse to see us in the morning, always too soon
Always too excited to be here
They don’t want us to go but never seem happy that we show up or stay.

She is a star
crushing under the weight
of yourself and everything around you.
She devours my light-
it breaks and bends to her will.
Nothing can escape your grasp,
your gaze or your touch.
The force of you is what
always repulsed me.

i floated through your cosmos.
touching every star, every rock, every planet, even the pieces of wandering debris.
i liked yours much better than mine.
the pressure that always used to be in my head was no longer.
i looked at you and i looked at all of this and i could swear i heard a voice telling me to stay.

that i didn't have to let go.

so i didn't.

to all of this.
the stardust hugged us and we felt whole.
