Poem: No Shelter
When you’re outside
of Christ, you risk
becoming a son… of
disobedience; pride

puffs itself up and
empty words deceive.
Without Salvation,
no one raises hands

in humility towards
a loving God; there
is no shelter, from
His wrath. Records

in Heaven above are
meticulously kept;
an impenitent heart
will keep you far…

away from eternity.
Inspired by:
Rom 1:18, 2:5; Eph 5:6  and

The real horror of being
outside of Christ is that
there is no shelter from
the wrath of God.

Poem: Sacred Space
Too often, we overlook
the awesome miracle of
Life, that we’re given
to enjoy; from His Book

of assurances, we learn
how we’re able to enter
into the sacred space…

to Him in prayer, we’ll
understand His plans to
prosper us; we’ll also
have an ongoing thrill

of being in His Presence!

Poem: In His Direction?
It’s disheartening to see
Churches that churn out a
bunch of souls… who don’t
love people. Many of them
don’t get along with other
congregants; the harmony

of Faith, is difficult to
find at times, when most
Churches tend to be more
concerned about money; if
souls are not having needs
met, then breakthroughs…

are probably not expected.
If so-called Christians are
not living victoriously, is
it realistic, that they’ll
gently nudge others… in His
direction, being unaffected

by The Word of God?

John 21:15-19  and

Just love people and point them

Poem: What Pleases Him
As God works within my life,
He provides me the desire and
power to do what pleases Him;
when emulating Jesus Christ,

His Light shines outwardly…
from me, naturally. Arm-in-arm
with my Lord, I’m journeying
on my path; others may not see,

like or understand- what I’ve
envisioned for myself; with
His principles applied to my

in doing… what pleases Him!

Poem: Measured
Who are we, to doubt The Word
of our God? Didn’t He measure
out the Earth’s waters, within
the palm of His hand? Didn’t
He assess the eternal vastness
of Heaven? Didn’t He calculate
the amount of dust, set aside
for Mankind? Are we stirred…

by the beauty of our planet?
Didn’t He tell us, that Heaven
is His home or that the Earth
is His footstool? Didn’t He
give us a glimpse of His realm?
Didn’t He weigh the mountains
and offset them with valleys,
hills, and ravines? Do we get

the idea, that we’re to look up?

Poem: Intimate Faith
Why is there a tangible sense
of fear, when it comes to an
intimate Faith? Does our Lord
and Savior evoke our defenses,

when He wants to pull us, unto
Himself? Our relationship with
Him is contingent on our belief

on the topics that comprise our
World, simplifies the method we
should live for Him. Doesn’t our

What can be said, about how we
conduct ourselves? Are we, now
leading by example? Do actions
reveal to others, that we can

people to be… more like Christ?

Poem: Spiritual Contempt
Can we, as Christians demonstrate
genuine Love, when our attitudes…
drip with spiritual contempt? How
can we spread The Gospel, when our
behavior is questionable? If souls
encounter poor interactions, with
us, we’ve no fair right to berate

their underdeveloped or lack of…
spiritual understanding. Personal
maturation rates vary, just as life
experiences differ. Witnessing
still requires patience. Isn’t our

Poem: Things and Things
With His Love, we can handle
all things; He strengthens us
and we possess a hope in Him.
We can endure, in the power
of His Name! Our Lord, Jesus,

has reminded us to not delight
in evil things; instead, we’re
to persevere in all things. Let
us honor, trust and praise Him!
We’re to be in constant cheer…

since He overcame this World!
Therefore, let’s live as those,
who are mighty and victorious,
in His precious Name! Snares of
our souls are broken; expose

your doubts and repent of them!
Nothing will separate us, from…
His Love and Salvation; become
more than a conqueror! We’re to
press forward for His Kingdom,

until His, mighty return!

be a cathartic process;
it allows me to explore…
all that’s within me. By
doing so, I am able, to
uncover the inner finesse

that He has placed inside
me. Simultaneously, I am
clearly pushed outside of
my comfort level; between

Poem: Nothing
Without the Presence of Yahweh,
we’re essentially nothing; we
temporarily possess His breath
and He rightfully expects us…
to be productive. When His sway

over us is evident, we produce
actions… based in Love. The
consistent and ongoing things
we do, show the trustworthiness

the trajectory of our ongoing

As I, approach the twilight
of my existence, my days are
akin to an evening shadow; I
am withered, like the grass

The glorious power of Christ’s
crucifixion transcends… all
thoughts of Human reasoning;
for the slender portion of one

Everlasting to any man, willing

Poem: Hidden Dimensions
How can I, look within
myself, to discover the
hidden dimensions of…
my soul? Can unwanted,
lasting affects of sin

keep me forever blinded?
Can my human aspirations
of love, truth, beauty,

attained? An unrequited

strongly implies that His

The importance of our proper

Poem: Thief
Most everyone understands,
the many cultures of human
violence; even sadder, is
the reluctant acceptance…
of evil. Veils of darkness
will hide the return of One,
as a thief… in the night.

Panic will erupt, as hands
are raised in fear; people
will be seeking answers, as
concerns of peace and safety
are gone. Missing Christians
from around this World, will
spark new debates; His Light

may scare the hell of those…
left behind; soon others will
realize the implications of a
mass exodus of believers and
the crisis of Faith; they’ll
have to reevaluate their weak
positions regarding God. Can

they now overcome sin? Clothes
will be torn in anguish, as the
pressure of Faith increases.
Will some find comfort, knowing
that may be killed for new Faith
or will they remain steadfast…
in their, ongoing lust for Man?

Poem: Purpose of Prayer
Could it be, that the ineffectiveness
of our prayers are directly linked to
the poor motivations… of our hearts?
Are we in pursuit of genuine holiness

and a relationship, with The One, Who
made the Heavens and the Earth? Can we
overcome ourselves and rise up as His
Children? Our Faith and Salvation, do

not relate to our personal actions; we
are saved by His Grace alone; the good
works, we perform, are an outward sign

Poem: Cautionary Tales
The Bible is replete with many
cautionary tales, of real people,
who have stumbled on their path

was fraught with unexpected woe.
Momentary mental lapses remind us,

Many people are afraid of becoming
Christians; the concept of caring,
showing compassion, giving of one’s
self and resources, or being simply
vulnerable before others, can be…
unnerving. We know, that trusting

ourselves may be a risky proposition.
That’s why we continually lean on His
Strength, His Name, His Truth and His
Word. We’re not operating alone; and
we’re not meant… to do so. As we find
Faith’s inner steel in His Salvation,

it also provides the necessary footing
for us to move forward. We’ve no real
reason to fear the Darkness, for His
Light pierces it easily, when we speak
against it. Rise up; stand in Faith!

The stunted growth of the Church…
is spiritually sad and reflects
a continued inability of the Body

silence of greenery, wondrous
sparkling of unknown diamonds
mesmerize my gaze; the wealth
of my existence is enhanced,
as I envision Christ, before
His disciples, bent over their
feet… ready to humbly serve.
Dedicated to David Thane Cornell

John 13:1-17 and

David’s poem “SECOND CHANCE”

SECOND CHANCE
When God came calling face to face
In a fatal circumstance,
Breast to breast in His embrace,
He promised me a second chance
To let me ring the morning in
And dine on dawn and dew,
My running feet to press and bless
The grass I'm passing through,
The potent wine of joy to flood
Like a bubbling spring,
Warm hosannahs in my blood
That make me want to sing.

Poem: Unseemly Faith
The ugliness of unseemly Faith
serves as an undesired deterrent
and stumbling block to the lost;
as our moral strength is spent,

we’re more apt to be watched!
The enemy will pounce as a lion,
wanting to **** and to destroy
our Hope; there’s no use trying

when the challenges to humanity
range from Life to Death. We must
rise up and strive to do good;
real Faith requires us to trust…

in the Holy One, Who sent us.
Therefore, let us live boldly!
Let’s run into the daily battle
and enjoy that we’re made holy!

1 Pet 5:8; Eze 3:20; Gal 1:10; Rom 14:13;
1 Sam 17:48; Heb 10:10-14

Poem: Carrying Our Sins
It is not our responsibility,
to be carrying our sins daily;
Christ took them upon Himself
for our benefit, whereby we can
move beyond… our fallen nature.
Success isn’t based on ability,

but on our reliance upon Yahweh!
Repent from wickedness; cry unto
Him, Who saves; study and apply
His Word with diligence; ask for
divine wisdom; trust Him and gain
unimagined peace; His loving sway

reinforces the subtle and genuine
reality of a relationship with Him.
We have been instructed to choose
Life; a final death sentence awaits
us, if we ignorantly or unwittingly
insist on… carrying our sins.

Poem: You, the Moon and Me
Like me, even that shining moon
occasionally weeps, as we spend
time remembering you; moments
of nostalgia creep into our times
of dreams and wistful thinking.
And yet, there is a vast emptiness
that stirs our spirits.

We sorrowful souls, sob throughout
the night; the coldness of dawn
crystallizes our tears into
the morning dew and its beauty
encourages us… to cry even more.
How can we bear the loss of you?

The arid ground, greedily absorbs
our sadness without visible remorse.
Forgotten and lifeless cobwebs,
with their torn threads, now adorn
the empty landscape that marks
the boundaries of our separation.

Your absence is deafening; the moon
and I discuss ideas about the taste
of your salty tears, that you shed
from mourning our shattered union.
However, the moon remains unerringly
quiet, regarding the time, you two,
spend together! And I’m left with an
impression of unresolved jealousy.

Will you two… silently lament the
isolation of our three aching hearts?
Oh wait; why are there distant sounds
of laughter, reverberating under this
new moon, while these tears of mine,
resume its unwanted flow?

Poem: Another World
We are being prepared
for another world- one
that we can’t imagine;
the future will scare

some people with fears
unknown; being forced
to trust an unseen God,
to get over the tears

of a lifetime of pain…
seems to exceed human
comprehension. Life can
change us; we will gain

experiences that stretch
us beyond our comfort. He
wants our companionship,
to partner with wretched

souls for His utmost glory.
Now there’s another world,
waiting on our appointed
arrival… to join His story

and bask in His Presence.
We’ll observe wonders that
will amaze us, including…
the pure, eternal essence

of Who, Yahweh is!
Inspired by:
1 Cor 1:9; Rom 7:24  and

If we find ourselves with a desire that
nothing in this world can satisfy, the
most probable explanation is that we were
made for another world. ―C.S. Lewis

Poem: Tethered Lambs
When it comes to our Christianity,
we’re to be like tethered lambs;
ready to die for our Faith, while
displaying grace, love and humility!

Though we’re surrounded by wolves,
our Great Shepherd can keep us safe
in green meadows, under His watchful
eye; it’s usually from ourselves…

that we require the most protection.
Nothing can separate us from Yahweh
and His right hand; therefore, let’s
offer genuine praise for Salvation

and the promises expressed within
His Word, including… Life over sin.

Rom 8:35-39; Psa 63:8

The primary failure of…
self-righteousness is that
you become your own god;
besides fouling true Faith,
you’ll never walk in Love,

since you’ll be the center
of a personal firestorm;
you’ll choose to manipulate
others for satisfaction or
gain; as a human tormentor,

you’ll never possess a peace
that’s real or everlasting.
All attributes of character
and humility will dissipate;
unable to discover a release

from Life’s miseries, you’ll
become so isolated, that the
numbness of your spirit will
unwittingly beckon Death’s
realm to be…  the solitary fuel

of your own destruction.
Inspired by:
Isa 64:6; 2 Tim 4:3-4; Rom 1:28-32  and

Trying to establish a righteousness
of your own, will pollute your walk
with God. -Rabbi K.A. Schneider

Poem: Spiritual Earthshine
Are we not to be the…
faint illumination of
Christ, reflecting Him
with actions of Love?

As terrestrial beings,
we’re continually mired
by an encasement of clay;
can our Faith be fired

up by our relationship to
our eternal Lord and Savior?
Fake Christianity will be
revealed in poor behaviors

that can be recognized by
anyone; as human candles,
Faith can shine brightly.
Avoiding personal scandals

is achievable, when we’re
purposed to live as Christ.
After all, no one else can
provide… everlasting Life!

Psa 18:28; 1 John 1:5-7; Prov 20:27

Poem: Unknown Future
We can trust an omniscient God,
with our unknown future, since
He transcends… Time’s boundary.
Though we remain humanly flawed,

we can possess a real Faith in
One, Who doesn’t lie, deceive or
tries to manipulate us. By using
our breath, we maintain within

us, the ability to reach Him and
soften His heart with our words;
as we pray, with an attitude of
repentance, inevitably we’ve hands

that are raised in total surrender.

Jer 29:11; Prov 3:5-6, 23:17-18

Poem: Circle of Inclusion
A poor perception of Christianity
is the ongoing failure of the Faith
to treat all people evenly within…
a circle of inclusion; who will see

past the shortcomings of humanity,
in order to spiritually grow? Ideas
of our accountability, accompanied
by genuine, personal responsibility

dictate that we treat every soul
in the same manner of Love, without
thoughts of the trivial attributes
that separate us; under the control

of God’s Kingdom, we remain equals.
Since we’re supposed to serve one
another, shouldn’t we help everyone
with a mandate to perform God’s will?

Poem: Prayer of Repentance
God is aware of the ugliness
of our sin; not confessing to
Him, ensures that misery will
replace our joy; seriousness

of the Human condition should
not be an excuse that keeps us
from reaching out to Him in a
prayer of repentance. Could

we allow… known imperfections
to define us, when forgiveness
is readily available? How can
we choose to dismiss Salvation

when we possess His holy breath
and the chance to escape Death?

Poem: In No Other
When will Humanity shed…
his blinders of ignorance?
Salvation can’t be found…
outside of Christ’s death
and glorious resurrection.
Can our inherit arrogance,

which is questionably based
on the accumulation of data
that’s carefully culled, be
worth a future without God?
Nothing we claim, stops Him
from being the Alpha & Omega.

Poem: Human Expectations
We need to stop setting goals
and personal standards, based…
on the foolishness of our fears;
Human expectations, dumb notions
and the fickleness of desire is
no way to live. Measuring years

by our accomplishments is silly;
someone in the future will either
outdo us or destroy our efforts.
Can we create a meaningful legacy
that touches lives with God’s Love
or even move beyond… self-comfort?
Inspired by:
Luke 12:16-23; Eccl 3:20-22  and

If God always met our expectations,
He’d never be able to exceed them.

Poem: Empty Rhetoric
The words of empty rhetoric,
don’t impress the unsaved;
Love requires real actions
of Faith; one day, a grave

will contain soiled remnants
of how, we were perceived;
the memories others recall,
are what they often received-

by the witness of our lives.
Before men, we’re justified
through our works of Love;
yet, it’s Christ crucified…

that serves as the impetus
behind our true motivations;
He’s the standard for living
and grace against damnation

of our eternal souls.

Poem: Without Agendas
Loving people, without agendas
of hidden motives, is what God
desires from us; if we’re not
authentic, then we are frauds

who lack value… to His Kingdom.
Without the pureness of a heart,
that’s inclined towards Him, we
have nothing tangible to impart

to those, who fail to discover…
their sacred identities found in
Christ, a Savior, Who loves them.
Within Humanity, we’re children

who need to teach others… about
the divine connection and scarlet
thread that binds us together;
we’re a bride and not some harlot

selling herself, to gain attention
for the merits of His Salvation.

Prov 16:2; 1 Cor 10:31; Isa 43:7;

As long as we choose to move forward,
we can find the inward strength to…
hold onto our Hope; pain ends, when
we look to Christ and His Love for us.
Therefore, let’s adjust our backward

thinking, by cleansing our thoughts
with the beauty of His Holy Word; as
we begin to trust Him and apply Truth
to our lives, positive results occur.
Are we gambling, rashly casting lots

for ungodly outcomes to succeed, based
on Worldly methodologies? Can we learn
to be patient and rightly divine God’s
Word? What will it take us to remain,
in His sight… pure, holy and chaste?

Poem: Trencherman
Eating and drinking, to excess
is an insalubrious proposition;
our gluttony greatly epitomizes
the selfishness that consumes us

when we’re blinded… by our lust.
Our poor behavior demonstrates
the foolishness of our flesh; if
we’re failing to ultimately trust

Him, then we’ll sow the seeds of
destruction and reap the ungodly
results, which may include death.
Despite our mistakes, His Love

covers us, as He patiently waits
for us to respond with the prayers
of a repentant heart; therefore,
let’s resume a way that’s straight

and narrow- the path towards Christ!
Inspired by:
Luke 12:20; Gal 6:8; Matt 7:13-14

Trencherman: Person devoted to excessive eating and drinking.
