There once was a black man... Old at heart, he fought verbally and accordingly with bold words, which abbreviated and arbitrated great art! He spoke of activism. Not just racial, and economic racism. He fought against demonic injustices for you, yes, made me see. He stood for principles of non-violence. Acknowledged corrupt government mileage, European knowledge and college. A philosopher, teacher and preacher as well as a civil rights leader. When he spoke his words of fire indeed chiseled and inspired. Causing some to conspire and also perspire! Born January 15th 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Named in honor of the German protestant Martin Luther. Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. Making a mark in doctoral studies, systematic theology. June 5th 1955 This King married Corretta Scott in Heiberger, Alabama for many to see. Proceeding with four children: Yolanda, Martin Luther the 3rd to be! Dexter Scott and Bernice to increase the peace. Despite the European police, the movements and stressed protests, the silence, ****** and racial violence. The segregation and interrogations in force, instead of integration of course. Black mishaps, lack of differences in relapse perhaps! Plagiarized and slandered, demised by some of the wise. Accused of communistic ties. Blinded by others’ eyes and of our world’s twisted lies. Montgomery, Georgia bus boycott, 1955 was the year. However, forever in disguise, our fear of tears was apparently adhered. From here to near, also all those dear. Mere letters he wrote, from Birmingham jail I quote! From the slums, some of sums, hail and prevail! A creation prevailing into a deriving and thriving nation. Mr. King’s vision of a dream, mission, opposition, optimism and truism, on our wars, welfare and more. I suppose this sounds honest and fair. Mr. King’s theories and worries in emotionalism, evangelism, humanitarianism, racism and socialism. Nobel Peace Prize won in 1964. Regretfully, you may have heard of this before. Government conspiracies and indecencies. Assassination and discrimination, allegedly, by James Earl Ray. On April 4th, I almost choke, because for him, his blood did soak. Some thought this **** was a thrill or forced by will. Others still procrastinate in hate! However, forever Martin Luther King was and still is one of the late greats.

The Women's Coalition
I don't have any emotions anymore Sometimes, I don’t know if I’m having a feeling Or I am dreaming, while I am awake? Some might think that my mind is exploring my emotions while looking for happiness, So I decided to bake a melodrama cake Nope! I meant mel-o-cream butter pound cake The ingredient is my path to getting my feelings back Egg, butter, flour, sugar, raisins, baking powder and a little milk I just want to transfer my feeling, with some logical thinking..   Somewhere, deep within a non stanzaic, and syllabic poem forms by the minute It’s going to trend like this cake, which is going to be bake with love Poetry is everywhere, creaming my butter and sugar is poetic because butter and sugar never stick together. It also reminds me of Nana’s golden brown patties, tasty and spicy Adding the eggs, nutmeg, baking powder, brings out the natural female traits in this Island girl, without my empowering dreads The raisins and the baking powder remind me of The Rise of Radical African American Activism, And all that rises, rise in due degree so poetry is everywhere it's  in everything we say and do.

I don't know If I 'm Having A Feeling
If you grasp tight to your                          individualism, Give in to all the                       romanticism, Rid of any          materialism, Confide within                    professionalism, Drop all acts of                     favoritism, Eject from any              vulgarism, Open up to            socialism, Advocate          activism, Realize you are an                           organism, Forget about any                      perfectionism, And explore inside                          transcendentalism, You will look up into complete mesmerism of how all the stars are symbolism for the billion versions of creationism that you've ever lived, and will live.

I will not forget you. Would I like to forget you? Or what you did to me? Perhaps. But I will not. Do not. Cannot. Have not. I do not forget you. Certain places, touches, people Remind me of you, of us, of that fateful day. I did not forget you. I have not forgotten you. I cannot be near a farm without a memory Invading my mind and my heart. I cannot eat or smell a mushroom without flashbacks flooding through my head. You put them there. I cannot forget you. I did not choose promiscuity, abusive relationships, or self-harm. You chose them for me. I did not choose to give it all away to some devilish boy cooing in my ear, "I love you, Sarah." But that was my new normal. It is not normal. And it is not now. I once had hoped to forget you. To block out the pain associated with your name. I did not want anything to do with you. I did not want to believe you hurt me. I did not want to deal with the mess you left behind While you gave into your own selfish impulses. Now I do not choose to forget you. I allow myself to feel the hurt when I need to. I allow myself to mourn the loss of my innocence. I allow myself to acknowledge that I am not completely "moved on" And I let you be my motivation to help others. I do not have to forget you. I chose a life for myself in order to deal with it Feminism, activism, writing. And frankly, That is quite okay with me.

The Art of Forgetting
Vapid people dribbling vapid shxt. A society of fxck-eyed, drunken infants debating politics memorised from Fox News. We, the awakened, plastering social media with doll-faced mannequins captioned with some Eastern Philosophy we read in Cosmo, enhanced with a filter titled "Who The **** Is Lao Tzu?" Comments read: goals af. (Insert emoji here) And praise the Indigo Children! It's a true gift indeed to talk about activism until blue in the face. My, what a spiritual hue, are you. Are you? A generation of craft makers, weaving their way through the alcoholic labyrinth, drawing the Hungover Man from a Rider Waite tarot deck, for another episode of Dull and Duller next weekend.

yes all women because people cringe at the word "feminism". because I am not a feminist, I am a woman. I am a human being. because this poem is a one-sided sexist rant. because I was fifteen years old when my mother first taught me about how to hold car keys as a weapon in case anyone ever attacked me. because teenage girls are taught to never walk alone in a parking garage. because in elementary school I was told to switch which side of the street I was walking on while going home if a man was approaching me in the same direction. because when I was twelve my parents gave me my first cell phone for when I was out riding my bike, or taking a walk. because I can't wear a spaghetti strap tank top to school, as it will "distract the boys". because boys are distracted by a bony girl in a spaghetti strap tank top. because freshmen girls are taught not to date senior boys, instead of senior boys being taught not to go after freshmen girls. because senior boys go after freshmen girls. because when I was ten years old I told my dad that my grandfather made me feel uncomfortable, and he got angry at me for making such a blasphemous statement. because even after I told my mother, and she talked to my father, he ignored it completely. because my grandfather made me, at ten years old, feel uncomfortable. because when I was fourteen my boyfriend broke up with me since I "didn't put out". fourteen. because by ninth grade I had received my first unwanted and unwelcomed advance. because I didn't tell anyone. because school administrators turn the other cheek when a girl is ***** in the stairwell*. because **** charges are being dropped by judges. because victims are being bullied into silence. because a hashtag is the most sincere form of activism. *because **** is a crime no matter what color you try to paint the picture*. because I will go to bed tonight, after posting this poem, after telling my story, and I will wake up tomorrow. and nothing will change.

I am that feminist that cites Betty Friedan in her arguments Who will tell you to bite your tongue if you think women have equal rights I am that liberal who stands up for the rights of others While preaching about white privilege I am that democrat who goes on Marxist rants And looks kindly upon socialistic programs I am that American who finds kinks in the system But also deeply loves my country. I am that ***** ***** **** Who thinks I should have the right to my own body And the government should not I am that student who thinks the education system is ****** up And prays for future generations because the common core is going to fail them I am that Christian who refuses to associate with the Republican Party But loves God with all her heart. I am that loud-mouth who will tell you to check yourself Before you tell a **** joke I am that activist who will die fighting for her cause And I will love every second of it.

Activism
Leave these other guys desensitized. Sacrificial activism stop telling these lies Lyrical capitalism Deception is precession Dark future; bright prison Dark past; bright vision Stuck inside; minds prism All equal BUT, what division? Quest, what? New edition. Not what eye envisioned. Isosceles try angles Highs lighten; the atrocities   Apostrophes trapping trophies Kings fallen; to their knees Ruled by their needs The heinous comes, with the mockeries. Fable creatures; feeble needs. Dream Chasers see, wicked dreams. The life of an artist is not all that it seems: see what I mean?

Rapid thought
Today I met... A man with sea blue eyes shining from fiery hair I said "you should be a pirate" Then Effie piped "Let's turn this bus into a ship" He mined for gold in Australia Working 12 hour days and nights Visiting home he found bad repute In Coromandal's strong anti-mining activism. He complained about the packaging Of the tourist L&P; ice-cream he'd bought "It should all be cardboard and wooden spoons" The miner turned environmentalist? Did the activists hear him out? Behind him, A man with eyes enclosed in triangle parentheses, A tattoo of reminder. - Reminder that being locked up is a waste of time, of life. - Realization that being in that crowd caused trouble. Drugs ain't the thing. And - Regret. It caused him to care for young minds, to teach what he had learnt. "I was only in there for drink driving" but for two years? He left at Paeroa College, "take care", Not hearing our "thank you for sharing" At our transfer we serenaded In happy gratitude and spontaneity The pirate watched, intrigued. The drivers; our faithful who had driven us so far And our newly acquainted about to shuttle us forth; They watched 'Til ye old faithful lost faith and went on with his duty A boy stepped off the bus Listening shyly, hiding. My bow slipped over out-of-tune strings Effie's voice rang true, feeling and joy, Hand strumming, familiar and fond. A mess of black hair from Colorado Complained "there's too many guns" But was a gunsmith "For hunters... I love it" I held a rifle once, Scared of its kick and its bite, A man shouldered it for me, I pulled the trigger. Paused. Then relief. - The clay bird flew on, Its demise instead the ground It hit and crumbled.

Animal Rights Activism with the tactic of appealing to Emotion only means so much and can only work so well when some of your own Facilities practice an 80% euthanization rate. Pouring Paint on a Fur Coat only raises Demand for Fur Coats. We must stop simply treating the symptoms and begin again to seek the Source.

Pouring Paint on a Fur Coat
I think sometimes you are not there, not where i need you to be. Oh you, you that i love without judgement or logical thinking, you that i love with judgement and logical thinking. You that i love, with the face that you have between the night and the stars, between the day and the sun, my activism between the sheets and the words i write, is blind and unforgiving. Maybe i am going about this all wrong, maybe there is something in the nothing of you, in the everything of you between me the air and the oxygen and the exhale. I breathe, something of you, even though i think you are not there. Within me you are, without me you are not, My love, my blood, inside races with a beat so strong not even a runaway train, would survive the car crash of our mangled hearts. Oh you, I would like you to find me, in your thoughts, in your air, in your nothingness, without me, not being there. Are you there?

Hello?
I write poems for kids That too often get asked “are you a boy, or a girl” Because they are the only ones who Will understand the physical rush Of empowerment versus discouragement In their guts The question that verifies You have finally broken gender norms Unhuman. Floating in unearthly genderless celestial bodies “are you a boy, or a girl” Only to hit the ground faster than falling stars When told “you better ******* start acting like it” I write poems for kids Who have a bird cage for ribs And fish for a heart Raised on its ability to fly Look kid, you gotta learn how to swim away Because you’ll be question by bird keepers Until the day your veins are able to run upstream You’ll leave the closet to only join the zoo So enjoy the field trips And the bears, and the otters And learn to question the birds and the bees It’s okay to only want birds on birds, bees on bees It’s okay to want to try **** And it’s okay to want to stay as far away as possible To think about *** at sixteen and keep that sweet composure One day the reflection on the glass isn’t going to match The second grade smile behind it Frame yourself however you may choose It’s okay to have purple hair We all make mistakes Don't feel guilty for being too scared to tell your mother Your whole life, people have been trying to build you in the wrong direction They aren’t going to understand what it feels like To simply just wear Eyeliner, I understand, it’s war paint Or the kind of questions you’ll get all afternoon “are you a boy, or a girl” Your identity is not polarized Gender is a spectrum, not a just ***** There’s shades between the seven colors I fit in Recognize you’ll be lonely eight days of the week There’s no one like you at home or at school or work So step out of frames, Look at bigger pictures Every hallway is your catwalk, every shoe Can be your empire state stiletto Every **** ****** slur is compliment to the human anarchy inside your bones Your human anatomy matched with the way your mind things Is one of the greatest forms of activism And if you ever go through an emo phase, Be the baddest goth child you can be! I write poems for kids That fall between “boy and girl” I write poems that I wish I heard as a kid To tell kids to keep fighting Even though the war is not yet won There’s victory in every battle you tired

Society has crumbled, The world has regressed, Everyone is depressed, Mentally jumbled. We think we are above, All of those dystopian stories, That we don't fall in those categories, But they fit like a glove. Fahrenheit 451? Who reads books anyway? There is no keeping the media at bay, Our screens are on all day! Orwell's 1984? Thanks to phones we have no privacy, Everyone inflicts their own policy, And agenda evermore. The Giver? Our joy and suffering, Are ****** away by our constant screening, And pleasures made to deliver. Ready Player One? We turn to escapism, So we can run, From activism, racism, and fascism. We think we are above, All of those dystopian stories, That we don't fall in those categories, But they fit like a glove.

Society
What is Woke Unbridled intention or activism shrouded by an enveloping cloak? Doing Good Embracing causes from some unwritten book. Driving Equity Is there some clarity or just another term for charity. Pro-Choice For set boundaries to be given a clear voice. Gender-Neutral A novel fad or a path to personal renewal? Gay Rights To live a life without the need for constant fights. Homeless Plight Society's need to choose what's wrong or right. Substance Abuse An epidemic that needs firm action not excuse. Open Borders If uncontrolled a breeding ground for horrors. Carbon Neutral A stark requirement lest our future be most brutal. Glass Ceiling Breaking boundaries seemingly unyielding. Me Too Spiking conversations that once were just taboo. There's no ready song book To how this should sound or simply just look, The line is precariously fine When our social mores often turn on the tone of a solitary line. Some we get right Where the path may be bathed in moral sunlight, Others might flail Promoted by Twitters’ loud mocking wail. But try we so must To craft a society that’s fair and inherently just. While criticism is rarely benign To also care deeply is never malign. So let us unite if not all then just some To craft a new world where we’re different but One.

The Language of Woke or something Nobler
I love my mother like the prodigal son, she introduced me to activism, and where I'm at now I can't release it, even as we went to the Lincoln Homes and Estates to set up computers, to give people that look like me a chance. I remember the older dudes would tell me to keep my head up even when I was down. There is a heart in "da hood" as the white people around me put it. There are fathers pushing strollers. There are mothers making it against all odds. There are families decreasing, but increasing. There are computers full with words and poetry and novellas. There are black children picking up books more than guns. Picking up basketballs more than guns, and why should they be labeled as less intelligent? **** they just want to get out and achieve and it's wrong that you say that's the wrong way. I hate going to funerals for faces with cheekbones still heavy with baby fat. And don't love me for telling you this, don't love me for being that "black guy that talks about problems in the ghetto, da hood!" Change it, go there, help people, hand out books to children. There is nothing scarier than ignorance.

At twenty seven I drove much more recklessly than my eighteen year old self would ever have done my husband says I stopped singing around twenty three the words that would careen out of my mouth like his little songbird made beautiful from years of practise and patience slowly dimmed and then eventually altogether faded as the notes I sang were replaced by cigarettes in my mouth and headaches from the shift of high school choir to my career as a technician At twenty seven, all my dreams of activism had fled when I was eighteen I swore to change the world, but at twenty seven I could only stare at my sister's family and wish I had taken one up of my own. At twenty seven, the smiles and laughter had fled from my face, despite being fully visible in every picture of me at age eighteen. At twenty seven, I had grown up. At eighteen, I was still young.

At Twenty Seven
From the stifling and limiting grounds of activism to militarism, from liberalism to conservatism, from atheism to theism, what is more pressing under our current shadow of empire - that elongates by the day - than a fresh crafted nuance of opinion which refuses to cave into that realm of the reactionary and trite? The all too familiar -isms, that bend over backward (and forward) for ideology, must die ---- all of them. They fly all the flags of Reform and push all the buttons of Fear and Morality in order to get you going about this or that thing, but in the end they do an about-face on all the things, retrenching the power and hierarchy that got them there in the first place. In its stead, we'd be wise to replace these fake hallowed grounds with a felt expression of direct existence that is so ******* thoughtful in its rendering that it summons up that weird blurred area where all regimented terms of ideology stand down so to admire the life-affirming phenomenon called art.

hello prose
Why oh why have we become so woke To the point of companies going near broke, All for the sake of garnering support From vocal fringes, then quietly rushing to abort. Is the effort worth the prize Pandering to an audience that must surely realize Division is not the path to integration Empowering voices that just believe in denigration. Acceptance is rarely mandated or imposed, It's a result of customs willingly transposed To reflect a kinder more inclusive world And in the process eliminating the absurd. Activism can often be the kernel for steep Change, But in the wrong hands is alienating and deranged, With effects that counter all that would be good Demeaning the very essence for which they stood. We the silent throngs just watch and wonder, What's brought on this wave of mindless thunder, Strife and upheaval causing nothing but confusion, Resulting in a world of societal delusion. Democracy is not another word for anarchy, Where a vocal few usurp reality for fantasy, But one of tolerance and communal understanding To mold a world where actions are outstanding. Where parent is not set against their child, Or leaving differing opinions unreconciled, Where sexuality does not become a sword, Or Race the blade to cut across the board. When will politicians and the media say enough, Accepting that their narrative is huff and gruff, Full of potholes and dead ends Turning people into enemies not friends? Why not allow good sense and wisdom take the stage, Willing denigrators to turn another page, Supporting causes that are simply just Thereby forging a society sure to last.
