Emotions are so overwhelming
Even in their simplest essence
They build and break and destroy
They shape and form and create
The hardest thing about emotions
Is having no control over what to break
And no control over what to create
Because sometimes
A heart can break
And the only thing created is a tragedy

As life passes,
and time goes on,
There comes a period
where we sit and reflect on
how our journeys have
been.
Memories, happy and
sad.
Old and new come back in mind
like the dance of a butterfly,
shimmering.
We all make mistakes, yes.
But still,
We all should go through life
without the worry or need
of regrets.
Believing that all we did, do, and will do is right.
We all dig up the past, to try and understand it.
We also put bricks and cement in place for our futures...

Inanimate
How much easier it would be, to be
Or so at least I like to think
When my mind runs away from the building of me
Like a brick I fall
Like a block I sink
Hopefully back into place
But if it's not for me
Would you tear me apart God brick by brick?
And build me as I was meant to be?
Not all that I do...is rooted in truth or humility. RIP.

People say so much
yet they hear so little
But if you hear so little
how can you say so much?

Words are kept for a reason
yet even knowing that
people always manage
to spill them out

Is this the weakness humans
are born with?
Or is it just the attention
people love so much
that they tend to forget
the trust enclosed with each words

Harsh and frank as I may seem
but being this kind of person
makes you no better than
a murderer who stab and leave
their victims cold dead on the street.

Wake up people!
You are not created to be like this.
You are more than capable
to BUILD rather than DESTROY
How can you see the sticks in your brother's eye, if you can't even see the LOG in your own eye.

The amount of work this is going to take
Both inside and out, and out again
To build this way
Is significant

And the sad thing is
I'm not even comfortable enough to say:

"When you're working here
Would you lay these bricks a certain way?
That way I will feel like myself
When they're underfoot
In the days to come"

I struggle just to say such things
For fear of the constructed persons way
But hopefully I truly try.
at the bottom of your hill
that sits along the oxygen you grow
i remember being pricked
by a thorny vine last winter.
just so you know,
i wasn’t there by myself.

the flower petals spill
to the ground all in a row
it felt like being kicked
in the stomach by a ram’s horn.

i cried and cried
when that lightning bolt took you down
and me, without a fortress,
and no place to shine my crown.

still waiting to build something
amazing again.

We'll both fall apart
If we try putting each other back together.
Our pieces are limited
And once we start to lose them,
We can build only with what we have.

Some futures wait
Biding their time
Maturing slowly
Fermenting
Allowing their aroma to herald their coming
Waiting for a welcome.

Some futures are more impatient
And crash right in uninvited
With no warning
Not allowing us any time to prepare.
Some futures arrive unannounced
And make themselves right at home
Taking over all that we had built
Imposing their change
Without waiting for our permission.

And all we can do is make room
And build anew
All we can do is hold on to each other
And rebuild into the future
And make it our own.

Carve out the doubt.
Design a firm foundation.
Structure the thoughts.
And be content in your creation.
We are all wonderfully made. Yet, we seemingly keep forgetting that. We blindly allow the doubt to creep in. Then, eventually, that doubt starts to spread. Up and down our hearts, cracking our foundation, cracking our souls.
Soon, we're crumbling.
Shattering to the ground in piles of crushed self-esteem. Taken out by a few strategic aims at the core.
This is why doubt is a twisted and patient thing; for no one ever sees a demolished house until it's already brought down.

So, repair the damage. Before it's too late. Because, unfortunately, you're the only one who can.

If we could chat to a film hero,
Would we learn more than zero?
Let's say we talk to Robin Hood,
Was he really all that good?
Romping around in hosiery in the woods,
Was Robin Hood, in bed, really so good?
What about Maid Marian in that snood?
Did she have more than a fling?
With his archer's sling?
Stuff of legends, film stars,
History of those days afar.......
Feedback welcome.
