My Medusa

Throwing words away into the ether,
In search of a seeker.
Did you meet her?  Have you seen her?
Does she still believe the holes in her net are catching no suitor?

My Medusa is caught in a mirror.
A reflection of her former self; from sweet heart to sinner.
Now cast in stone are her army of lovers,
All standing proud, never moving on;
Trapped inside her thoughts forever,
Deep in their endless slumber; never completely gone.

All memories compared to me;
All seem to win eventually.
Surrounded by snakes; her endless din,
Are screaming at me, to go on, leave!

But love is my shield,
I trust in her virtue.
I must confess the way she makes me feel;
I must suggest a rendezvous.

Everything feels so out of reach right now.
I feel the pain from the snake sinking its fangs to my skin.
Puncturing and filling me with its poison.
It doesn't release enough to **** me, though it still leaves me paralyzed.
And some times I have to force myself to not taunt them.
They will know my motives and slither away until I'm better again.
Then the fangs will bite down on me as if they were eating a delicious apple.
and evening will come to fall for the sadistic trickery.
Thus leading to the eradication in which I had made my world to be.

I am powerless.
It hurts when you are blamed for something you have no control or didn't have a choice in.

in that dark room
Of shadowed histories

the Snake smiles,
and raises a glass-
the Blood on his hands
dripping onto clean cloth.

the Sparrow watches on;
Caged in her own regret.
her face is a blank Mask.

the Fawn gazes across a
would-be bright future.
trees and grasses Glow
With promise and dreams.

THEY run the World.
the rest of -us- suffer through;
raised by Hope,
cut down by Snakes.

She doesn’t even know I dance,
rhythm is a dancer,
my heart on my sleeve of armor,
a snake charmer moving faster and faster,

no boa constrictors,
more of a cobra that stays sober with business,
denying these pythons in nylon at all cost,

might be a viper,
might be the remedy for these toxic enemies,
the medicine to defend against the poisons in these city streets,
can’t call I’m all lit it’s a vibe thing and I’m busy vibrating,

go ahead and blame the boy in us for being so boisterous,
and being industrious enough to avoid the poisonous cottonmouths,
can’t trust these snakes these days more Chimera than Ciara,
as the World floods we just keep burning down the house,

in a constant state of affairs,
caught up in the nostalgia of Yesterday’s tomorrows,

we realize that this life we live is ours,
and that’s why we have everything except doubt,
meanwhile they’re still wondering,
who let the dogs out,

so we run in the sun,
swim in the ocean,
and make moments,
so we’ll hopefully be remembered,

even though I’ve got a terrible memory,
and you probably do too,
you know memory is a funny thing,
there are 2 sides to every truth,

well actually there’s 3,
but I don’t think anyone is counting,
because at this point in time,
we’re just happy we’re not drowning,

ship so heavy,
sea so stormy,
we fear we might trip,
and sink into unfounded glory,

so what’s the moral to this story,
what’s the lesson in this song,
I guess it’s to remember I still love you,
even though I know I was wrong,

so when they notice we’re gone,
and ask where we went,
tell them we were here in this moment,
and now we’re gone with the wind,

moving like the hottest God or Goddess,
call me Quetzalcoatl with vocal quotes filled,
within the pages placed into the Mind of our collective history,

let God be Our Witness,
we are Living History,
we are not only everywhere,
we are also everything,

everyone,
that’s ever read the written word,
will understand that this life we live,
is nothing more than a verb,

a fleeting moment of emotional memory,
everything all at once forget everything except I love you,
slash my wrist birth my kids,
no labels no lies, no way only truth,

and the truth is,

She doesn’t even know I dance.

What a great reptile,
A Royal Python - no less,
A serpent so dapper;
Never seen in a mess,
Non-poisonous, deaf, mute;
Except for its hiss,
It likes nothing more
Than to hug and to kiss!

Though it has no arms,
Harmless it is not,
Make no mis-snake a
Mean streak it has got,
Outside of its coils
The view is just fine,
But if invited inside
You'd be wise to decline!

Don't be enticed in
By its hypnotic stare,
For when those coils tense,
They act like a snare,
For those patterned coils;
Look brill' from without,
But lose their appeal
When wrapped
Around your snout!

When I was young

I sold my soul to the devil.

I asked to become an Atlas.

Now I wait...         wondering
Did the clandestine transaction work?
Or has all my suffering been in vain?
Have I managed to reduce the pain?
Should I have repent first?
I was filled with hate... blundering

and filled with passion.

Now in sorrow I must revel

Left to question what I have done.
Hindsight is always 20/20

I tend to distance myself from venomous people.

Like snakes they slither in to your life

And strike when your most vulnerable.

Deceptive and devious

Masters of manipulation.

I know some snakes.

Slimey, cold hearted, slithery snakes.

The way they insert themselves

into your heart

and extract the deepest and darkest information

Only to use it against you

so effortlessly
its repulsive
Yet impressive

Keep yourselves from snakes
Slimey
Slithery
Sneaky
Snakes
They'll ruin you
To my dearest "friends"

Snakes and Ladders
Forever starting anew,
Seen circles of adders
Biting their tails
To the bone and through.

You got to move quick
In that place and have forethought
Forefront,
Otherwise you'll fall short
When your works not nearly done.

Beware the Ivory fangs
Flashing in the night.
Let fear butterfly into strength
And sight so you can
See which path is right.

Find a ladder
To lead away
From what made you
Madder,
Remember the feeling
Don't daunt
But it matters.

Snakes and Ladders
Beat at its own game,
You choose yours
But I threw the board
To the flame.

Dangerous words
are the ones that slip under our guard
they nestle next to us at night
whisper treacle-sweet nothings
that trickle and slide down canals
to dosing minds,
honeying the way,
ensuring an easy passage
for the poison kept still at bay

They tuck us in and fluff our pillows
and egos
till we give them freely
those moments of sincerity,
genuine smiles and hitched breaths
their value was in their exclusivity.

We break off these pieces of truth
like our hearts are handmade chocolate
and when these snakes have us so charmed
and they are full,
they finally snap and spit.
bites full of venom,
and we see the fangs too late.

I laugh at those who are frightened or disgusted
as harmless snakes do slither past
But I have fears of a different kind of serpent
So few in the world suffer snake bites,
even less have injuries that last,
And I count myself in the number markless
But still I shuddered as curved shadows cast,
a spell of paralyzing fear,
As harmless humans did walk past

it's words I feared the most
though perhaps I'd rather face beration
than the teeth of hungry dogs
When dogs bark, I calmly bark them back
But with humans I'd sooner run away

I'm learning to not fear
as confidence builds
And I see my power crystal clear
Some say when you hold back your words you hold back your power, and that's what makes you sick. I think it's a little more than that, it's being unsatisfied with holding back your words, and letting the stress make you sick.
I'm realizing my own power, and I am learning to speak and be satisfied when I have not spoken.
