She stood;
chin raised,
facing moonbeams.
The light only
gifted me half
of her face.
It was enough.
I could understand
why the night
held on to most
of her beauty.

Faces Unknown Jul 2015
It’s me and no one else.

It’s my business and only mine to know.

It’s my life and not yours to judge.

I’m being selfish right about now,

I’m 20 years old, turning 21 in 3 months

I’m thinking about myself and myself only.

In this noise polluted zone
I no longer feel at home
The strange faces that I see
Are all looking back at me.

When did these changes all take place?
Is my question to the one who commands time and space
I was not even truly aware
But I refuse to live in fear.

This is where dreams come to life
Racing against the sands of time
Grasping them quickly to make the journey complete
There is no possible way I will accept defeat.

I read through our old
Text messages to remind
Myself
Of the good times
The times when
We talked
And laughed
And called each other affectionate names
The times we still woke up to each other's
Faces on the screens
Of our phones.
Here's to back then.

She had as many faces as a rubix cube.
I'm not trying to be cruel,
I just wonder who she really is and if the face she showed me was too an act.

May they be positive,
Together we gel so well,
Impossible to separate us now,
Whatever may cometh we are ready,
Budge we won't - err we won't,
This bond is so precious,
May they all accept us.

Because together we are one,
It will take inhuman strength,
To do us apart they will need it,
A stone heart just won't suffice,
It won't douse this flame in us,
It's insufficient to do us apart,
Lava in the veins is required.

For we live the life so like a coin,
Our lives are like two faces of one,
So we aren't worried any longer.
Both of us are like two inseparable but opposite faces of the same coin.

Serge Belinsky Apr 2015
The Rain tried to find its way into the very depth of the souls, sneering at the gloomy faces of people who were walking through water. Unexpectedly a sudden clear laugh of a boy who jumped into a puddle mocked all His aspirations.

With an increased force the Rain turned into a wall of water pushing the pedestrians into the open doors of the shops, blocking the traffic and confusing the air controllers at an airport nearby.

Seizing for a moment almost absolute power over the world, the Rain suddenly felt bored and first burst out into numerous crossing lines, then calmed down and throwing the last blast of wind with water drops at the running boy, He sighed in despair and having banged few open windows He disappeared, staying for a moment in thick eye-lashes of a girl who was adjusting her make up.

We’re all mad, the world is full of madness. We’re all scared, the world is a scary place. We all fall down, the world is full of many bumps. We’re all lonely, the world is full of loneliness. We all have doubts, the world is full of negativity. Point is, the world is full of everything you feel so don’t feel alone because there’s about 7 million other people out there and you’re never alone.

Sad faces seem more
More real than happy faces
Don't you think so too?
Mind telling me what you think?
when death comes closer
it can make our bones
show prominently
under taut skin
revealing
harsh edges
where before flesh
was softening our countenance

what sharpens our face
blunts our senses

   is this a friendly face
   familiar
   or just the shadow
   of an anonymous nurse
   doing her duty

words spoken
become difficult to understand
and to reply
a major effort

the touch
of a caring hand
feels sweet
but to respond in kind
   is almost impossible

between relief of letting go
and fears of the raw loss
of our world
decades of living bear us down
a sense of systems closing quietly
prevails

you wonder whether
you will see again
the friendly face
that says
   it will be back
tomorrow
