Watching the sunset
feels so peaceful
Watching the sunset
indeed's blissful
But no sunset
can be so beautiful
when i look at you
some poem drafts on my notebook

Beyond the rolling hills,
A shy horizon awaits coloured in a savoury Himalayan pink
And you stand on the peak of a mountain
Practicing your introduction for when you meet destiny for the first time
The hairs on the back of your neck rise
Whenever you find yourself thinking about time
And memories fly around you, drawing their reflections into the irises of your eyes
Hand in hand with tomorrow you walk towards a new sky
A single cloud hovers over you, bringing with it a rainfall
To nurture the seeds of dreams you have yet to meet
And soon enough you’re gone as you fade into the haze,
running towards a melancholic cry with the future by your side
To meet destiny at the horizon line

It’s almost as if I’m held hostage
And who I want to be is in front of me
Their grip is calm but I’m accosted
I’m shown every dream that I can’t reach
Things won’t change if I keep this pace
I can’t stand still and still go one way
I’ll stop to think when I have the space
And plan my bittersweet escape

We’ve seen this story play out
We end our day in the same room
We held onto everything we could
We’ll meet again tomorrow afternoon

If happiness was a career,
Here’s my application
If my mindset had any fear,
They’re still on vacation
The mountains are our goals
How much closer will we get?
Because if you take back control
You too can be closer to a sunset

I’m falling in love with living.
Im talking windows rolled down music blasting living.
I’m talking sunsets on the kayak living.
Hammocking in the backyard.
Listening to my neighbors kids laugh.
Cup of coffee on the back porch.
The same spot I sit every day living.

I’m talking crying myself to sleep living.
I’m talking not wanting to wake up living.
The pain of not being loved.
The tears I’m constantly holding back.
The feeling on holding on by a thread living.

I’m falling in love with all of it.
All at once.
I’m falling in love with my soul and my spirit.
I’m falling in love with the sunset.
I’m falling in love with the silence.
I’m falling in love with the process of falling in love.
I’m learning to love everything around me. Including myself.
It’s no easy task.
It’s dedicating everyday to the commitment of healing.

But...

I can’t quit yet.
There’s so much more left
to fall in love with.

The black swan smoldering in deep shade
vanishes in the sunset pond
sticking the discovery beauty spot
on the face of the moon!

Under the cherry blossom tree
He sits, looking to the sunset.
A life of moon, snow, and dewdrops
Content, his life does melt. So it is...

Pretty sunsets and starry nights
Have nothing to do with me, but rather you
One look into your eyes, I see your beauty bright
Yet you seem not to notice, As if you had no clue
There has been others in my life
But none quite has your shine
So I dedicate this to you
The one who can cheer me up when the day is blue
The one who has made my me the happiest yet
As I sit with you and watch the sunset

I ached, looking from the hill,
The sun would hurry home,
This place never thought up before-
This place that would be left alone,

And as the oranges and
Pinks turned to onyx quilts,
The cat rubbed against my tennis shoes,
Purring at a friendship built.

Cream and cereal I rendered-
Pulled from aether will,
And a bowl and spoon and saucer, too,
For each to have their fill,

But the cat took all the cream,
And said "It's just some cream",
But dry is my cereal,
And this is just a dream.

I see the clouds above me,
They're floating in the sky,
I wonder what they see,
And wonder why they cry.

I listen to the fire,
While sitting in its glow,
Not a thing does it require,
But wood for it to grow.

Gently does the breeze,
Whisper to my skin,
I wander if the trees,
Mind about the wind.

I will not shut my eyes,
Wont miss one part of this,
The sun is giving the skies,
A loving goodnight kiss.

Not like life, when it's the end, it's the end
The sun will set, yet it will rise again
The lost opportunities can be rendered tomorrow
But, the same sequence will never show

Enjoy the clouds while they're at fleet
The patterns will never aver again repeat
Be open to the opportunities that knock
Like a rock, once thrown, they'll never come back

Regrets, nostalgias, and broken dreams surround
As the pink skies are swallowed by dark clouds
When the day comes to an end
It remind
things in this world are transient.
Wrote this poem while looking at the sunset when the pink skies are slowly swallowed by the gray mushy clouds.
