Now you're in the sunken place
Clawing at your own skin
To escape
Break free
From the prison inside you
Pulling apart
Your rib cage
Because it feels like
You're suffocating yourself
Panting
        Gasping
              Grasping
For reality
But the only thing you catch
Is a handful
Of your decaying flesh

And now you're in the sunken place

The tears like acid-
Poison to your eyes
Burning through your sight
So you fight
With clouded vision
Stumbling into
The labyrinth that is your brain
Colliding
        Crashing
              Bashing
Against the tissued barriers
The padded walls
Insanely insanity
The darkest type of mental institute
Locked with three clicks
Inside your head

And now you're in the sunken place

Constantly slicing yourself open
Searching for a key
To unlock the psych ward door
A key-
Lost in your vital organs
So you cut deeper
Deep-deep down under
Drowning in gallons
Or your own crimson blood
Muffling your screams to girgles
You try and hide
In the fissures of your bones
Tearing
       Splitting
            Ripping
Through yourself
To escape yourself
To survive this hell
To outlive your jail cell

So now you're stuck
In the sunken place

Quietly psychotic
Waiting for what comes next
Paralyzed
         Frozen
             Broken
...
You're the patient in **Asylum X.
I got the "sunken place" from the movie Get Out (which is an awesome movie which accurately depicts racism that I've experienced btw).

Anyway, I just took that idea and ran with it!

She's gone-
My medicine had thus enchanted her.
Her darkened brain becomes a slave
To the hot pangs of hysteria
And those violet tears hang on her face, like vines of Wisteria.

But, alack!
The bogey man is coming to sweep the streets
And with his blood-curdling presence
He brings his seven princes;
Heosphoros leads the way and severs
My lady's vagus with his impale morning star.

I hear weeping- is something emerging, from the molten sea of infierno? Pish! She now kneels before
The shrine of Mammon and pleads
'Heavens forfend! I must seek the ash
Path to prosperity and pretend!'

My lady's face no longer beholds
That youthful dew and that
Ethereal pigmentation of her visage.
No, no she has become achromic,
Anaemic, artic...

...I embosomed her in my arms
Tried minerals, drugs, spirits; hymns
Yet she has exchanged mortality with
Immortality: and has pleased only the Night Deity.
1 'seven princes' refers to the seven princes of Hell
2 'Heosphoros' is an alternative name for Lucifer or the Devil
3 'Vagus' refers to the vagus nerve, responsible emotional stress and speech movements in the mouth. Thus the suffering woman has become corrupted.
4 'Morning star' as in the spiked club weapon
5 'Infierno' Spanish for 'Hell'
6 'Mammon' referring to one of the seven princes of hell associated with greed of money
7 'Night Deity' one of them is Phobetor, the Night Deity of nightmares.

NB. I am solely using these references for the enjoyment of writing poetry and imagination and not because of my religious or personal beliefs.

I had a dream about
my father
At least I think it
was him
I was talking into
a dark room
Could see the red tip
glow of his cigarette
Smell beer and fresh dirt
Consumed by a mix of
emotions
I couldn’t form any
words beyond
“What are you doing here”
Long, frustrating silence
like most of our
relationship
And when I neared giving
up and turning away
He whispered
“Don’t give up like I did
You fight the ******* darkness”
I jolted awake with
the bang from his
gun
Tears streaming from
my eyes
My most meaningful
conversation with my
father
was a dream

Her lips kissing your neck, her hands caressing  your hair,

could not wake me from my slumber.

But your eyes looking into hers, the way you looked

into mine. Well that, I could not bare.  And so,

I woke from my nightmare. Only to realize,

that you were not there.

*Sandoval
Today, I woke up with you on my mind, these nightmares wont leave my side, I dream about you most nights.. and, so I must write so this pain can finally subside

There was a girl who became her dreams,
but her dreams were just nightmares in disguise.

The monsters crawled out of her head
and slept with her in bed.

She would scream and shout,
but there was no way out.

She listened to what the monsters said,
so her arms dripped red.

So she did all a little girl would,
she looked to a shooting star and wished that she could.

I still dream about you almost every night.
Happy dreams, and I wake up missing you.
When those turn into nightmares,
when I wake up happy that it was only a dream,
that's when I know I'm over you.
Cloudy Heart May 2017
They pull on me constantly
attack my worst fears
feed on my pain
feed on my tears
They drive me insane
the way they put bad thoughts in my head
I feel myself going under
I feel myself dying in this bed
I cannot wake myself up
no matter how hard I try
I cannot shake these feelings
I am destroyed in the blink of an eye
I do not know what to do
and no one will help me
maybe I should just accept this as what it is
and let it be.
