I know you won't, but don't dare say it.
I can tell.
When you're pushed up
against the small of my
back,
fingers wrapped around my neck,
breathing in my
smell.

In an instant I've awoken, I don’t really see the sky
I know rain falls from it on the shingles time to time
Little tinny voices are my alarm set on repeat
And it makes me feel so sorry not to wake up on some
Coriander washed London street
Still the smell, our Petrichor perfume, sitting in the air
Reminds me of our mornings, taking in a winter dare

Where I’d not rise easy to rainfall in the bleak misty dawn
Listening instead, your breath against the pillow I now indent upon

I once wept in your presence and you judged me.
You were right, I'm weak.
In all my solitude I grasped a hand,
In all my suffering I leaned on many shoulders,
Through highs and lows I was held with love.

So now I face the world alone,
You dare call me weak?
Climb and sore with no hand to hold,
You dare call me weak?
Man my own battles and slit my own throats,
You dare call me weak?
Look you in the eyes and say "I don't need you anymore",
You dare weep in front of me?

I dare you to look me in the eye
and tell me no.
I don't believe
you can let me go.

Sol o Sol!
Come be our guest,
Come & imagine a lunch with us.
Sky o Sky!
Most clement you are,
You are invited to lunch along us.

The stove is just so cold,
The stomach is hot as oven,
Warm bread is our daydream.

May some day come our way,
Our poor daydreams be realized,
Drinking the water in steel tumblers.

Delicious potato-tomato greens,
Sour tamarind sauce will be there,
Such a day has always been on the list.

We toast to our mini picnic,
Gulp chilled water brought along,
Yes so would be our hot celebration.

Let us sit under a tree's shade,
Enjoying our picnic time the best,
Melting some butter on warm bread.

Just for the sake of our joy,
May birds be our music system,
Today we shall feed them as well.

Sol o Sol!
Listen to our invitation,
Come & imagine a lunch with us.
Sky o Sky!
Accept all our offerings,
You are invited to lunch along us.
I am inspired by the thought of a not so well-to-do family of a man and his five kids whose mother has died.

The man tries his best to avail best food for all of his children.

The children also understand his situation, the lack of a woman in their family and embrace their problems.

A woman's absence will increase their poverty.

We built this place.
Look around you,
We built it.
We built our home,
We built it all.
We built this life.
Don't you dare walk away
Saying that the fault was all mine.
Cause there's no 'I' in we.
We made the bed we lay in.
We made this.

Flightless Birds
so it would seem
we paint memories
yet fear to dream
While if you try
you may not prevail
if you do not
you’ll always fail
So for one moment
put your brush away
smile and dare
to dream today

How dare you do this?
“Hey,” is all you have to say?
After what you did?

Do you ever feel like you’re not really there?
Like people aren't ignoring you, they just can’t see you?
Do you feel that you’re a face easily forgotten
And a voice always outspoken?
It’s like there’s a one-way window between you and the rest of the world
And you’re the one always looking in.
And you know it probably won’t ever change.
But you can’t help but hope that someone on the other side dares to look out and see you.
If you were a poet,
I wouldn't dare read what you wrote
About me.
