Yesterday started with a
break down
but l'm to keep doing
my best everyday
l try to have this
confidencein me
but seconds that pass
my soul keeps hurting
for l'm lost and helpless
but believe to make through
back at home tried to make peace with my bloods
but couldn't escape the torture
will l still face trouble in the future
and battle for the survival fate the future holds.
Is the cartography of the soul
Where shadows dance and darkness unfolds
It's is the language of the unseen
A whispered dialogue between the heart and the dream

Like an archaeologist of the inner world
It uncovers the artifacts of the unfurled
A tapestry of emotions, intricate and worn
A testament to the human condition, forever torn

Silence, poetry is the sound
Of the heartbeat, the pulse, the rhythm unbound
A symphony of contradictions, a harmony of pain
A celebration of the beauty that remains

Like a mystic, it seeks the unknown
A union with the divine, a oneness with the tone
Of the universe, a vibration that echoes through eternity
A whispered promise of transcendence, a glimpse of infinity

What hope do we stand for?
If truly  there is love amongst us.
Is it just another lie we tell ourselves?
Just to get attention, we do all things.
Things that land us into the shallows of evil.
Even for the chosen that wander into the dark.
Only for what pleasure and pride?
What intent does the Church of Christ stand for?
Is it just another metaphor that we add to vocabulary?
Oh in this church where immorality is like an anthem.
And yet scripture forbids such act.
But all they say to themselves that God is our salvation.
I mean if the deaf and dumb know that is wrong.
Why not listen to what is right to find peace.
Oh Lord if only You have mercy upon this generation that has lusted and turned away from You.
If we choose to deny the truth and rather hide behind deception then there will be no hope that left. It's up to you to rise and take up your assignment to make a difference.

The love I have for her pushes me from my friends
And yet I'm scared to lose her
For she holds the keys to heart
Unlike all the romantic stories
Ours could be defined as Pip & Estella in the Great Expectations

Her smile
The cutest l have ever seen
Her musical talent
So rare to find
Her voice
Makes me to believe in fairy tales .
A star is born
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
Light of a thousand stars in your eyes ,intoxicating smile
That sweet perfume of roses you carry with you when you walk
A beautiful angel whose name is whistled by the birds all through the streets
It's been plenty of years since you left heaven for earth
From the first time your parents held you in their arms
The joy you brought peace to their souls
Rekindled a glow that was forgotten
The friends you made that have seen you grow
Through the brightest & darkest times
To you that was poised and impeccable
For every ugly scar on you was a beautiful spot
You embraced love and wasn't selfish to share it
The world celebrates you
Happy birthday
There's thousand and more candles for you to blow.
Happy 14th birthday
Moonlight weeps upon my face,

A lonely serenade, a sorrowful pace.

The stars above, a distant hum,

A reminder of the emptiness that's come.

Memories of joy, now faded gray,

Echoes of laughter, lost in yesterday.

The fire that once burned, a warm and golden light,

Now reduced to embers, a dying, flickering sight.

In this dark and silent night,

I search for solace, a guiding light.

But like a ghost, it vanishes from sight,

Leaving me with nothing, but this endless, hollow night.

Tears fall like the rain,

A melancholy refrain.

For in the shadows, I am lost and alone,

Forever searching, for a home...
Fall like the night
A secret sorrow, a hidden plight
They well up deep, a heavy sea
A grief that's borne, alone and free

No words are spoken, no sound is made
The heart is heavy, the soul is frayed
The tears fall slow, like autumn rain
A quiet mourning, a silent pain

In the stillness, they're shed and gone
Leaving behind a heart that's strong
For in the silence, a voice is found
A whisper of hope, a heart unbound.

Will I dance in the middle of the storm
To hold you in my arms
A wish to the daylight, rise of the sun
Will of my heart, flourish to the edge of the earth
Holding your memory in the back of my eye.

Is it what l am or what l've become that people despise me for the less interest
A boy who lives with brown hair as he wanders trying to find his way back home
A boy who tells his story through words written on a piece of paper
A boy who grew up without any friends but still moved forward
A boy who has nothing to hold on except the love of his family
A boy who lives to tell a story to those that listen to his message.

Days run so fast.
Just yesterday,l was 10
And today ,l'm 15
And tomorrow, l will be 20
And maybe 40.
Hope l make it to 100
And tell stories to my grand
kids
About the walls l had to break
to survive
Some to make them smile
Others will be sad ones
And maybe they will cry
But in the end,each struggle
will be worth it.
Isaac afunadhula Jan 2021
Woke up to cheer
but l had taken aback
devastated for the news
for he bit the dust
but said heroes come and go
but legends are forever
and will always be remembered
and his legacy left to inspire
the flower of age.

The taste of my lover is like a scent from a rose
Like a melody from the singing bird
With the beauty that covers her face
Like an apple tree in the forest
l long to have her in my arms.
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
2014 was the first time  l saw a beautiful face
I had stalked her for days
Hoping i would say hi, i rushed in eagerly
How wrong i was
You were cold as ice
Mean to your friends
Infact you were the devil himself
Who couldn't find love
Now l believe the saying
"Evil girls have the prettiest face"

2020 i felt happy once more to see you
You held my hand and asked me to walk you home
Blind as bat
I fell for you hoping that you had changed but who says people change you broke my heart for the second time .
My worst experience in my life
Isaac afunadhula Dec 2021
I've been searching for a place like home
But here I choose to stay for the undeniable truth
For the stars shine with every year as a song of praise
In the night it may seem dark but I will rise and stay at the Father's heart.

Aroused by her beauty, I stand at a distance
Isaac afunadhula Dec 2021
Camp in my body like a refugee
Speak to me like a stranger
Show me the wealth with in
I seek all day long for you because I sowed a seed of hope
This body may grow weak but You are impeccable
The hunger and thirst for your goodness burns like a fire with in
Shine your light to my heart and soul
To declare Your worth

There was the moon and sun before the beginning of time
With a point of reference they sang to the most High

The moon rubbed words of praise around the stars as He stretched out light to his child covered with mud who cried out as he worshipped

The moon and stars rejoiced to the son of God who stood with glory and might

The sun sobbing with overwhelming joy bowed down and sang all day to His true king in Heaven
I wrote this when I thought that I had lost everything but there I was inspired to write this poem
Isaac afunadhula Mar 2021
He stood on the front porch
wandering through
Anger in his voice as he speaks
The message on his face could be
decoded
He roams with misery everywhere he goes
His reputation preceeds him
The words that never flowed from my pen
The rhymes that never danced upon my tongue
The verses that never sang with sweet refrain
The poet that I never was, forever young

In secret, I would scribble lines of fire
But fear and doubt would soon my dreams conspire
Against the page, my words would lose their might
And I, a silent poet, lost in endless night

Yet still, the muse would whisper in my ear
Of all the poems I would never write, the tears
I'd cry for all the verses left unspoken
The poet that I never was, my heart still broken

But even now, in dreams, I see myself anew
A poet, wild and free, with words that shine like dew
And though I never was, perhaps in some other life
I'll find the words to say, the poet that I'll be, in strife
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
He walks the dark times alone
He never perfect despite his efforts.
They asked, “Who broke your heart?”  I smiled,
As if the wound had healed a while.
But silence pressed behind my teeth,
A name I buried underneath.

Not one, I said   but many things:
The way she left, the way hope clings,
The way a laugh turns into mist,
The way you ache for lips you kissed.

It wasn't just her voice gone still,
But how the world grew cold and shrill.
It was the songs that made me cry,
The empty space when love says goodbye.

They asked again  “Was it her name?”
And still, I couldn’t place the blame.
A heart breaks slow, then all at once
Not just by loss, but lack, and months.

So who? I whispered to the night.
“I broke it too  by holding tight.”

Life walks softly, barefoot in rain,
Trailing the echoes of love and of pain.
We build with hope, then watch it decay,
As time steals the colors and carries them away.

Hearts once whole are scattered like dust,
Shattered by promises broken in trust.
Eyes that once dreamed now quietly grieve,
Learning too soon how the tender must leave.

There’s no warning when joy turns to ache,
No gentle farewell when foundations break.
We reach for tomorrow, but it slips through our hands
A ghost in the dark that no soul understands.

The road bends often where we cannot see,
And asks us to walk where we’d rather not be.
Each choice a question, each answer unclear,
Each heartbeat a whisper of love or of fear.

Yet even in sorrow, we rise once again,
Cradling grief like a long-lost friend.
For pain is the price of the love that we knew
And life, in its silence, still carries us through.

She said that she loved me
but didn't mean it
despite everything l did
From age to age hoped to marry you but the evil that breathed under your pretty face ruined and broke me
Only trusted you more than my own
like maybe you fell down from the stars to shine the light to the dark
You were the spirit of doom
For you were my first and will always hold a place deep in my heart because l still  love you.
Isaac afunadhula Jan 2022
If my heart pours out
If the rains turns to snow
Then my heart shall find rest
To the delight of the world

If a cry for blood burns like a fire
In the far land of kasheki, then the song of the heartland shall be sung by the hyena's

If the moon shodows it's beauty under the blue skies
A roar shall be heard in the sea deepth

To the voices of the earth
I just want to sing beneath the sun
beneath the clouds
If the words that we say sometimes mean less in this life of uncertainty then we ought to do better for the greater good.
Isaac afunadhula Aug 2021
Like stars burn in the sky,
A heart pounds to love even when broken.
Sigh of  a breath that chooses to stay in an art of a domicile
Hold memories lost in ages,
Beauty and perfection that chase after the wind joins two kinds of people,
That's me and you.
In the shadows of silence, you weave your spell,

A tapestry of words, intricate and swell.

Though few may find them, your lines still shine,

A constellation of thought, divine

Your poetry is a lantern, lit in the night,

Guiding those who stumble, through the dark of life.

Though unread, your words still hold their gentle might,

A soothing balm for souls, lost in the fight.

In the secret chambers of your heart, you write,

A symphony of emotions, a dance of light.

Your pen is a wand, conjuring worlds unseen,

A magic that transforms, and makes the heart serene.

So let your words flow, like a river's stream,

And trust that they will find, their way to a dream.

For in the act of writing, you are free and clear,

A poet, unread, yet full of hope and cheer

Far away from destiny
For the wise man says inspirational quotes
that are passed from generation to generation.

As far as the horizons ,
my love for adventure pushes me,will l touch the sky with my feet in the waters!
will l become the greatest explorer alive!
I wish l could go to worlds beyond my own and still survive Sad part is
This wish can never be granted by life

He is troubled indeed
For he wonders like lost sheep without direction
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
I woke up in the marshes,
All l could hear was the wolves hawl
through the frigid forest.
I was weak to walk but my soul grew stronger.
The winds made me cold even in my jacket.
Alone in the dark with a torch running out of batteries.
Walk like a hunter in the night,
like a soldier at war
looking for the beacon of hope
That my bad days are over.
Isaac afunadhula May 2021
Listen dearest to the signal of distress
days left me longing to wonder about the situation as l lay in bed with an open eye groaning with broken soul
help dearest l call on to you to pull me out of this sorrow help for the reminiscence hurts and enemy too has considered me weak to take the fight but now that you here l feel safe in your arms
Isaac afunadhula Aug 2021
A gust of wind that blows under the sky
The beauty that roams defined only by the colors of true love
Voices echoing louder than a thunder struck
Strip strips off a zebra's back
Fading hope for the vase that held it all along
Is broken and the pieces are over the floor
Deafening silence holding the ambience
Melancholy has an open door through
Tears won't stop falling
Love is a myth ,l wish l listened when they told me.
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
I want to know the truth
For you say that you
care for me
It seems that you don't,
for we are distant from each other
I know that l broke your trust but how can l make it up to you
I don't want to call it quits after everything that we been through,
and the secrets that we hold about our complicated relationship.
I can't take the pain and hurting away
At least we could could be friends who look out for each other.
For they say beautiful minds start a beautiful world.
Isaac afunadhula Jan 2021
Iearnt to focus my camera
to take a clear photograph
of the beauty this world is
endowed with
As l walked on an endless
road,
a mirage could be seen
from a far
My thirst grew and l knew
l was closer to sipping from
a stream
l was wrong
not everything you see is
what they are
Toughest lesson of my life

Brave as a ******.

What's with you and  that
smile?
How hard can l try to get a spot in your life?
what is it about you that keeps me chasing and guessing?
Is it  the way you talk or walk ? that my heart skips a little bit?
how awkward did it get when I said hi?
what time is it so that I can hug you for the very, first time?
what's with moods that cry under the veil of an exquisite lady like you?

Flightless as an ostrich
Killer as a pandemic.

As he looks up in the sky
he sighs and wonders
he gapes and almost staggers lost
He sees one surviving star shinning brighter than the wandering lot
casting his thoughts like fish net
he makes a wish to his loved ones maybe they laughed
at the old terrible joke of the palm squeezing greeting
Or cried about another broken ***
The kids must really be my blood
And maybe she laughed the same
terrible laugh
Or grimaced in similar ancient grief
Lined across her fore head the day l last saw her

Wise as King Solomon

Isaac afunadhula Dec 2022
I have been on the ocean side
And  seen the another  day go by
With nothing but the cold breeze blowing by
I have wished and prayed for better but no one seemed to reply
My heart had been racing hoping at least to say goodbye
To you my true love that seemed too shy to look my way
Oh poor me seeming to scared to loose you again to another day.
Isaac afunadhula Apr 2022
Is it worth the time to wait out in the open just to be disappointed
Or
To hold onto something for a little while
What's it like then, if I lay hold of love only to have a better view and not let go
In the end, I still find no joy
If only I stood by the edge and found hope
I wouldn't wait more with urge to pen down these thoughts but rather step out of the dark to have a glimpse of light that comes with this valuable tressure
Mystery though one I wish to explore
Isaac afunadhula Oct 2021
Lord here I'm take my heart and have it all
Steadfast and lead me to the way of hope
At Your feet I worship.
With expectations I come into your house singing hallelujah
Author of salvation all I need is You Lord
In praise I lay at Your feet with complete love and joy
What an amazing love manifested at the cross keeper of my heart
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
Along these edges
heading for the alter
and make the grade
despite the write off
future.
In the cartography of forgotten places
A topography of what's been erased
Lies a residue of what's past
A palimpsest of love and pain forever fast

In the archaeology of the soul
A stratigraphy of memories unfold
Like the rings of a tree, they tell a tale
Of seasons come and gone, of love that's failed

Whatever is left, it festers
A wound that refuses to heal
A scar that throbs with every heartbeat
A reminder of the fragility of our deepest retreat
Within the museum of forgotten hours
Where shadows dance and darkness cowers
There's an exhibit of what's been undone
A showcase of the paths we've never won

Within the garden of what's been left behind
Where petals drop and flowers unwind
There's a fragrance that still lingers on
A scent of what could've been, but never was known

Whatever is left, it whispers low
A secret language only known to few
A dialect of longing and regret
A whispered promise of what we'll never get
In whispers of what could've been,

I'm haunted by the ghost of you within.

A bittersweet reminder of love's refrain,

Echoes of memories that bring only pain.

If only I had never seen your face,

Perhaps my heart would still be in its place.

But fate, it seemed, had other plans that day,

And led me down a path where love would stray.

Now, in the shadows of what we used to be,

I'm left to ponder on the what-ifs of you and me.

The fire that once burned bright with hope and desire,

Has faded to embers, leaving only a hollow, gnawing fire.

Oh, the cruel irony of love's design,

To bring us joy, only to leave us with this hollow, aching mind.

For in the end, it's not the love we had that hurts,

But the memories of what could've been, the love that we deserved.
Why
Isaac afunadhula Feb 2021
Why
Do l ask
Why
do l still hope for more?
Why
do we chase dreams?
Dreams that are fatal.
Why
do we blend with the lies?
lies that blind fold the future.
Why
do we hold back at a certain moment?
Why
is it hard to find success?
Isaac afunadhula Jan 2021
I woke up in a dark place
could see no light each path
I took
Like l was on my own again
or maybe the world had ended
And it was only me left
My adrenaline levels Started rising,l thought living my solitary life
maybe l would make it though
I was wrong
The further l got lost in the darkness, the more frightened l got.
I guess l was caught up in a dome
That had been kept far from the
shine of the moon or the sun
maybe a test for my bravery
I took out a lighter to
put the light on.
some how l felt less alone.
The darkness no longer scarced me ,as l kept looking at the lighter
A round of applouse from an audience
I couldn't see
It was just an audition
In the dark
Some how l got the role.

— The End —
