Today's the day
We fly away
To the place
I love to play

To see the people
That bring it together
Without each other
It would happen never
Today is Spring badfish and i just wanna say thank you to every one every that helps to set up and provide an awesome location and vibe for the weekend!! these festivals wouldnt happen without the people!!! Much Love and Peace!!! Happy Badfish!!!
Ragged mountains and rough terrains,
Withstanding storms and heavy rains.
Warm rays of sunshine bring light.
Bearing hues of black and white.

To the touch it feels like a freshly mowed lawn.
A promise of tummy tickling at dawn.
A relaxing walk in an uninhabited forest.
A tempestuous hike to the top of Everest.

You could be a renegade or a mad scientist
An investment banker or electric guitarist.
A biker's beard could be just as immaculate.
Rough as sandpaper or soft as velvet.
Beards

The autumn wood have the winters brow
And the tree line holds me captive.
I run through the pleasantries but I know I cannot escape.
The gray shaded outline is filled in with a mixture of colour,
Melting into one bowl,
Dripping from the leaves.

I am ambushed by the emotions of my childhood.
Emotions long forgotten.
At least attempted.
The promise of tomorrow lingering on my lip,
Quivering and curious.

She comes out from the trees that imprison me.
Beauty flawless and without regret.
Standing with her feet bare
She says not a word, not a word shall be said.
And I shall keep my words.

She wears a smile with saddened eyes.
A simple oxymoron,
Yet the most challenging to understand.
Off her face the mask would fall.
Suppose she is tired of the role.
The gray shadows of the woods stalk her no more,
And the color once belonged has returned to her skin.

As I don the mask all I can do is wonder
If I shall see these woods once more.

a half step back and a quick turn
brings our lips within inches of one another
you lean into me
your soft lips resting against mine
as your hand brushes across my side
landing on the small of my back
and pulling me in
to you
to that moment
everything falls away
nothing else exists
just your body against mine
as our lips playfully dance together
A moment I could stay in forever

The campfire's out but it still burns
When I touch you, knowing
your warmth is for someone else.

One toe tipped
Brink on the lip
Round that bounding tree
Wade and ascend until you see
Two rocks with crooked tops
Mend the bend and heed the avian's call
When you bound down
You will hear the river's sound
You are almost there
Follow the path etched in ground

Upon your breech
You will feel a wind in the tree's creak
Look for the pink flowers that peek
And listen for the spring that leaks
The journey takes weeks

So stop at the fruit bearing tree
When you are weak
Rest and prepare for the test
For soon you will meet Devil's Peak
MInd the ways you wInd

Once you spy the rocks that streak
Keep your eye out for the trees made of teak
Soon there is no sign
And the trail leaves no lines
You must move by the moon
And with the sun tell time
Here you find yourself all alone
The only of your kind

You must bare the brier that binds
And cure it with the tongue
Of the canine that bites
For the crane that flies
Holds the questions of night

When you stumble upon the prairie
And the sun is just right
Offer the indigo leaf
In the fire of the light
Say the three sacred words
And pronounce then with might

For this is the recipe
For your soul to take flight
I've followed this path before
unlike other poets
the cool wind and trees distract me
I'm the kind of poet
who hears songbirds and feel misery

I write not in the woods and trees
nor do I write in the silence of nature
unlike poets who're poets unlike me
I prefer silence- in a room with a computer
in other woirds- i like stress
it keeps on my toes
and away from hoes-
on the spot
and away from thots

Join me in the woods.
We will walk halfway to death,
then turn and drift back.
I’m watching Kevin Hart idk how to spell it anyway I’m the perfect mix of clinically depressed and caffeine rn so it’s the sweet spot of writing poetry
Perdue Poems Apr 2019
I was walking through the wood
On a pleasant sunny day
when I came across a hollow
Dug deep and in my way
I peered deep into its depths
As far as I could see
Yet the chasm was as dark as coal
And stretched to eternity

I decidedly moved closer
To this unplumbed murky hole
But felt my sole slip on the Earth
Into the depths untold
I felt myself grow panicked
As the light began to fade
I began to brace for impact
I held my breath and prayed

And yet to my surprise
I never seemed to hit the floor
But kept falling on and on
Now and evermore
I’ve grown to love the dark
My eyes have grown adjusted
My heart is filled with hate
For the world that I once trusted

Yet on pleasant sunny days
I can still make out the sun
Shining deep into my cave
Where light there should be none
And I feel my eyes start to tear
Why, I’ll never know
But perhaps I miss the woods above
While I remain Below
