the salt and pepper of life

the rich nuggets

precious little details
that we miss

in our overwhelm

the little jewels
of everyday life
that make it
so sweet

so
much
to
be
thankful
for

all the days of our lives

May God open our eyes everyday to His gifts...that we wouldn't miss anything!

Why must we remove the darkness?
Why must we replace it with light?

Light does not have to hide the dark.
They can live side by side, glistening in their ethereal mine like dusty jewels.

Why must we remove something that could easily be the most harmonious benevolent colour in the world?

The world is made of silver and gold,

silver and gold.

Where the mountains pile high with a treasure that grows,
The seas that gleam like the diamonds that grow, deep in the volcanos.
Where the fields of gold shine bright in the sun,
crystals that shine in the dark were the sun can't see.

Desert's made of amber that glow with heat.
Forests that gleam like emerald and creatures with the colours of the rainbow run wild.

The world is made of silver and gold

Like an old clipper, sailing on the water
My soul searches all the seas of life
Trying to find that elusive treasure
Not made of gold or silver.

Guided by shining lights placed in towers
Guided by twinkling stars blazing in the sky
I find my wondering ways through the world
Living all the great stories yet untold.

Within the bounds of all four corners
Of this sphere we all claim as home
I search for that elusive treasure
Not made of jewels or gems.

And when I've passed on and sunk
No longer kissing the water's surface
I will be remembered always, forever
Like a ship in a bottle.

Luckily She’s Strong to Sturdy to crumble and fall
Others have tried to break through her Belovenent wall
Bestowed in complements
Confused in why all they see is her Beauty
Her power a blessing & a curse.
For she well knows Beauty is what's buried deep within
Patiently waiting Dawn's after Dust's
Crippling in pain
From a World known too Lust
Forced to hide her Hearts Treasures
“Her heart beats of Jewels”
Rubies so divine
She hides them from Fools
They're not meant to be Traded
Her Value is far Underrated
Looking for a Prince
She starts the Casting
Searching for her love in hopes to be Ever Lasting <3

Friends are the jewels of the earth
For the real treasure
We all seek
Is to be understood
And cared for by another

With endless conversations
And cups of tea
There’s a longing
A sense of peace
That comes from good company

As the day rolls on
We talk and feel life through
Laughing at the situations
That seek to destroy us

There’s a beauty
In mutual bonding
And learning
And laughing
At life’s trouble;
It’s just me and you
Lost in our little bubble

When feeling blue
Unearthed, deadbeat
They give you a new perspective
to set you on your feet

Friendship is priceless
Connections
Communications
More tea, cake and understanding

By text, by mail
By spoken word
They reach over continents
Villages, cities and towns
To make themselves heard

To lend a hand
When feeling low
Or losing hope
They give their free support
The kind of which
Can never be bought

Days, weeks, months and years
Pass by in the blink of an eye
No need for an explanation, reason or why
They are there for you
No matter how life changes

A true friend
Always caring
Always the same inside
Getting to know you a little better
Than they did the last time
They read your letter

Never tiring of your company
A spirit so pure
You may not find all the answers
But will laugh, and talk and share
So together, we’ll find the cure

Digging deep into the human soul
Excavating feelings
Working through emotional episodes
To find peace in the present moment
And in each other
At the end of the day
That is friendship’s truest goal

Be they brother, mother, sister or lover
Friends come in many shapes and guises
For what it’s worth
A true friend means more to me
Than all the jewels of the earth.

I went to SLEEP with a Diadem -
Upon my hand;
The Valley of Serenity held Prosy,
During that wedding grand.

I awoke from Sleep -
When the Gem was Gone from my hand;
And now I weep,
With Sorrow at my command.

It was the base of all
It had rules and guidelines
and ****** it had time out's
and should's and must's

It was the quarter
that molded the center of you
that gave you that armor
that shield
and most importantly
that helmet

Sometimes there was war
and the walls shook from the screams
and other moments, the warmth melted
the hostility within

It held as many members as it could
and sometimes it magically expanded
as the people grew more and more

You left it for long periods of time
you thought you'd enjoy the liberty
from those guidelines and such
and you did

But at the end of the day
you will always know
the road back
like the back of your hand

You will always
find your
way
home
I'm a stepping stone that was stepped a few hundred too many times
You have to forgot about implementing Jewels on me
I want to be a pedestal
Something that's seen as higher
Because i'm more than your lyre of heavy weight objects
We're all worth more than what we think
But every now and then i don't think
And that's my my biggest vice
If Miami was even paying attention.
I  live on the mountain
Below the silver mist
In the valley, full of magic
Where the sun has rarely kissed

I am called a smudger
I live on what's left behind
I have been here near forever
I'm the last one of my kind

Below the mountain major
Lives a dragon, fierce and bold
Sleeping now, and dreaming
Of it's hoard of stolen gold

Eleventy years plus twenty
I have been here on this earth
Cleaning up the dragons droppings
It's how I justify my worth

The dragon's ruled this mountain
For a thousand thousand years
The silver river that flows through it
Is full of snow melt and of tears

Once a generation
Someone comes from down below
Gets the villagers all riled
Says "The dragon has to go"

They go and fight the dragon
Try to take his hoard of gold
And that is why, it's me the smudger
Who knows how the story must be told

The fighter leaves the village
Full of gusto and incensed
Saying "justice for the village"
or close to that....condensed

The dragon then awakens
Flys around and burns the town
Leaving nothing left but ashes
everything gone or burned down

Now, I, your local smudger
Cleans up the dead and done
It's a profitable existence
Since I am the only one

The dragon knows there's nothing
Much more of value to behold
The villagers were poor folk
Owning neither jewels or gold

I've cleaned up more destruction
Caused by villagers who go
On up to face the dragon
And get killed with just one blow

Now, I make candles with their bodies
I use their skin and body fat
I weave the hair not melted
And I make a nice new front hall mat

The bones I grind and scatter
On the mountain in the trees
It helps the ferns all grow strong
And keeps the trees free from disease

What little money I find
I leave half by the dragons den
Over time I have left there
Money from five thousand men

I've swords I sell at auction
When I travel, but that's rare
There is really nothing for me
That's not near the dragons lair

It's a relationship existing
On destruction and of greed
The dragon burns the village
And I get the things I need

They rebuild and they recover
And a generation may pass by
When once again some young, strong fighter
Wakes the dragon, makes him fly

I guess we need each other
That's the way it's always been
I'm the smudger on the mountain
I'm the one who's never seen
