Floating; endlessly..

In the middle of their destiny,

Sinking beautifully.
Joshua Adam Jul 2015
Haiku Poetry is a very short poem with poetic images that can transcend the limitation imposed by the usual language and thinking. What if we took that imagery into the realm of human nature? While attempting to do this I tried to stay within the bounds of contemplative poetry that indicates a moment, sensation, impression or drama of a specific moment in nature. However, I broadened this framework to at times include moral, historical, scientific, legal, social, etc., issues as well. I believe, by doing this, we are introduced to a unique and creative imagery that paints a mental picture where you the reader can find much deeper meanings to personally relate.

Very Short Haiku Poetry - Poetry with a message worth a thousand words
the day someone loves me unconditionally,
perhaps like my cat does...
i will know that it's
REAL.

i smiled & he rubbed his soft fur against me.
i laughed, loud, cackling  — out of breath  —
& he rubbed his soft fur against me.

i screamed in anger, i cursed, i banged doors.
i broke objects & felt the anger move through
my veins.
& he rubbed his soft fur against me.

i clutched my stomach, unable to sleep.
anxiety running at an all time high.
eyes blood shot from a lack of sleep.
a nervous wreck i was.
& he rubbed his soft fur against me.

i paid no attention to him,
burying my head in a ton of books
in an attempt to see A's on my report card.
& he rubbed his soft fur against me.

i grabbed a razor & let it get acquainted with my skin.
i let it paint streaks of red lines
& form a red waterfall down my arms & thighs.
i grabbed a bottle of alcohol & downed it in one go,
with a bunch of pills in my hands.
i looked at him & said, "i hope somebody takes care of you when i'm gone."
& he titled his head
& rubbed his soft fur against me.

perhaps we all once knew how to love like animals,
unconditionally...
but it seems the older we get, the more brain capacity we acquire
as our heart's capacity to love decreases.

Like a Japanese
lucky nodding cat
she has a round face
& a tortoiseshell pattern
on her back
she sleeps beside me
talks in queer chatter
as if to ask me
what's the matter
why aren't you
playing
feeding
petting
no room for writing
or forgetting
my small friend

You know,
I think I'd make a good penguin

They're built for
Cold weather
Where most birds can't go
They thrive

They have to stay in their comfort zone
The cold tundra
They can't go out
Or they'll die

They watch the other birds soar
But know they can never join
They stay in their ice-filled wilderness
And keep two feet on the ground

And that is okay

I think we have a lot in common
I think I would make a good penguin
Comment what you think your animal is :)

There are some who fool around
With human DNA
They say it's a progessive step
For the world today.

The deciphered human genome
Is a plaything in their hands
Just a toy to then employ
And change the state of man.

"Change your child's DNA!
He's strong as a horse!
He can be, and he can see
Like a hawk, of course!"

Just like in the movies
They've conditioned us for that.
Vampires and werewolves
And woman morphed to cat!

We can all be cyborgs!
Robotic legs and things!
We can be like Batman
But with automated wings!

Let's just look at Genesis
Look at chapter 6
Those beast/man Nephilim
Did actually exist!

The Watchers came and mated
With human women fair
The Sons of God were demons,
So we'd best have a care!

God had to drown the demon-spawn
To save the human race
The waters flooded over them
And there was not a trace.

Now God found Noah perfect
For he had a pure bloodline
There was in him no change
From God's original design.

Now, folks, what will happen
When human beings aspire
To be like animals yet again?
This time there'll be
FIRE!!!

What about our tender hearts?
Do they matter anymore?
The world's consumed with evil
You'd best know what's in store.

When we're no longer human
But have a cyborg mind
Will mankind ever be the same?
Godly? Loving?
KIND?

Humans enslaved for weakness
Do you find that odd?
We will be a "Super Race"
Usurp the Will of God.

Will there be salvation?
Or will it be too late?
When men go and take the role
Of the God they hate?

Be glad that God loves us!
For we were made like Him.
He wants to take us from this place!
He wants us to
WIN!!!

Is this all science fiction?
Watch the news! It's
PLANNED!
Babies being altered
To unnatural lifespans!

Because of overweening pride
We mess with things divine
Enter human suffering -

*
EXIT HUMANKIND.

Just a book? A couple of movies?

I once heard of an old man who was
dying. He told his son a story.
He had been in WWII stationed in the south Pacific. He was ordered to
place explosives in a cave. He went in and what he saw froze his blood
rock solid. There were CHILDREN
IN THERE. In cages. Some had feathers. Some had scales.
ALL WERE IN  A G O N Y.

He placed the explosives trembling
like a leaf. When he emerged, pale
as marble, he asked about the children. He was told never to speak
of it again, for he would not be believed. His commanding officer told him, "We won't be killing them.
It is a MERCY. THEY ARE DEAD ALREADY."

He wept bitterly on conveying this
confession to his son. He said he had
never told a soul, but couldn't die
in peace for the knowledge.

THE HUMAN GENOME HAS BEEN
DECIPHERED FOR MANY YEARS.

Science fiction? You can comfort
yourselves with that...

BUT WHAT IF IT'S  T R U E ???

I have a little gold fish
I poured him into his home
I watched him flow to and fro
admired his glide, his drift
the way he thrashed and picked up pace
I was so hypnotized by this beauty
it was hours later that my eyes widened in surprise
I'd never even filled up the bowl.

the hip children of the night
prey on logos and women,
they have created counterfeit cultures
made from images of yore
slipped their flesh under blankets
next to lovers or empty space
and declared war against
their own human race
chased down roads in eclectic threads
hollering into the wind with wild hair
that navigate over skin unaware of
history and tradition.

while the feral animals look on with
muted colors and salivate
with a thirst to apply
their instincts,
their tendencies
to seek out the enemy
instead of calmly waiting
for their alarming arrival.

I'm young and wild,
Adrenaline rushes through my vains
I have a roar that rattles a child,
That burns like eternal flames.
I vitiate a jungle with my rampant fever,
Rotate the world, the wrath of my paws,
My tyranny drowns all that preys the river,
My ambitions defy nature's doltish laws
My soul craves a sense of power
To roam freely whenever, wherever,
Let me sieze and live in this hour
Because no one is meant to live forever.
"You are the painter of your own mood and your days are only as grey as you allow them to be."

Meet my dog Peeve.

Please, feel free to pet Peeve.

Also, feel free to talk too loudly and wake up my children,

Feel free to eat the rest of my food without asking,

Feel free to finish the toilet paper roll and not replace it,

Feel free to interrupt me when I’m talking about my summer vacation,

Feel free to listen to loud music while I’m trying to relax,

Feel free to take credit for everybody else’s accomplishments,

Feel free to take everything that anybody’s ever done for you for granted, and continue living a thankless existence, while thinking the world owes you something you’ve never deserved.

But most of all, feel free to pet Peeve.
