fizzy love wild days

Haiku's are actually kind of growing on me. They are short sweet and different.

April's Fool
will Apr 2019
Blissful Ignorance
Love in spring and April tears
I was your fool then
I just wanted to try writing a Haiku. I don't think I really like this style of poetry though. It's really nice but I'm more of a rhymer than a syllabic person.

Coffee Breath
will Mar 2019
In the morning
rolling over
you smell like daisies

sundays are boring
stretching out
super lazy

percolating bitter gold
pouring it into a mug
you make it sweet

wrapping you in my hold
arms gently hug
you make the morning complete

Pheno-menal
will Mar 2019
The world is phenomenal
a chemical existence
filled with sickness
leukemia
anemia

The benzene
products of the wildfire forests
from volcanoes and the brontosaurus
now the ancestors implore
for the pollution to be no more

The end scene
from human production
comes the destruction
our own ignorance
becomes our Icarus

This is epiphenomenal
a by product of irresponsibility
a lack of grace and humility
we'll suffer the consequences
for our own operating expenses

Nothing Really
will Mar 2019
It wasn't a problem
just a tick really
it's kind of silly

It was nothing much
correcting tilted things
organizing rings

It wasn't a problem till after
when nothing was clean
and hands had to gleam

Skin was cracking
it was like a disorder
everything had to be in order
Sophomore year what was there to fear but my own habits?

Adventure!
will Mar 2019
An adventure is exiting
like running through the hills
or exploring the old mill
it's doing it even though it's frightening

An adventure is growing
like learning act
or covering for what you lack
it's realizing you have to keep going

An adventure is anything
like fighting something furry
or going out with friends for curry
it's practically everything

An adventure is what you make it

it's life

My friend grabbed me and yelled "were going on an adventure!" today and then we just ended up eating curry for lunch and talking about our lives.

Blank Spaces
will Mar 2019
Blank spaces & empty rooms

filled with nothing but salty air
it hangs heavy with palpable despair

Darkened halls & lonely tombs

where no moonlight shines on the stones
that cover forgotten bones

Old souls & new spirits

whispering like the wind through the trees
laughing like the clinking of old keys

Faithless chapels & flowerless graves

leaving the dead to the earth
and our sorrows buried in exchange for mirth

Telephone
will Mar 2019
Life is a game of telephone
my messages mingle in my throat
the translation is lost
some where between my lips it twists

when I mean I love you
it comes up meekly as hello
when I mean do you want to get coffee
it comes up as you look nice today

Miscommunication led to friendship
games of telephone go on
I sit at your side through life

when I mean your my everything
it comes you as best friend
when I mean I can't live without you
it comes out as I'll always be here for you

Year on down the road
you're still unreachable right next to me
every conversation
a long game of telephone
Just trying a different style again. Sorry if it's weird. I really need to get these moths pretending to be butterflies out of my stomach. Love seems so unobtainable when everyone I like ends up a friend.

Moon Flower
will Mar 2019
Dear flower do you bloom?
in darkness
in night
in the moonlight

Dear flower do you grow?
in the forest
in the cove
in the grove

Dear flower do you love?
with all my heart
with everything
with an angels wing

Dear flower do you forgive?

Flower Crowns
will Mar 2019
Silk spun gold
softly fall on gentle shoulders
an intricate braid tucked behind your ear
a bead swings on the end
glittering in the sunlight

A circlet lays on your brow
poppies, bluebells, and a rose
woven with oak leaves behind
green like emeralds in your eyes

They are closed now
as you lay on stone
face relaxed and soft as petals
a sharp contrast from before

A tiger lily is clutched in your hand
and a hydrangea falls from mine
Just something I wrote a long while ago but never got around to posting.

Enduring and Ephemeral
will Feb 2019
Beauty is a concept
a misty morning without sight
the tree near the road
we know it's there
yet cannot see

Beauty enduring
forever with us
and in our sights
we define it over millennia
beauty is everywhere

Beauty is a concept
textbook definitions and simplicity
but in societies diverse
it is undefinable to all but the individual

Beauty ephemeral
always changing
in constant flux
never the same to another
beauty is no where
What is beauty? Is it a simple definition in a textbook of shapes and appeal or is it an every flowing river twisting and bubbling into millions of individual pools? How can we define what no one sees the same?

Valentine
will Feb 2019
Valentine oh valiant one
Will you love like a roman?
With whips and blood a' golden

Valentine oh voluptuous one
Will you love me like a pagan?
With great passion in the dark away from the suffragan

Valentine oh virtuous one
Will you love me like gods man?
With all the soft edges and sacred like his plan

Valentine oh victorious one
Will you love me like a modern girl?
With a drunken kiss and a smooth twirl

Valentine oh venomous one
Will you love me till the end?
With great care and through the light with me wend
A little poem representing the history of Valentines day. From the Roman and pagan celebrations, the Catholic take over, and today's version of love.

Vines
will Jan 2019
We are intertwined you and I
mingling together at the support
we are stuck together from the dirt to the sky
you choke me at the roots

Me blossoming as you creep from below
tangling with me at the bottom
like creeping ivy over me you grow
till breathe does not come from my lungs

I wither slowly when I'm with you
but you have become my support now
without it any weight topples me, even gentle dew
Breaking away would sprout new roots

but where would they plant
other than in the holes you carved
I need new roots I need a transplant
away from the rocks and the lacing cracks

Fresh soil and a breath of clear air
somewhere my leaves can spread out
without crushing of lungs and the ghastly tare
freedom oxygen and happiness will wait for me

So for now I'm entangled with you in fear
a dark vine twisted around me
but soon I will escape from your ugly leer
and with gentle sighs will bloom once again

The Teacup
will Jan 2019
There was a porcelain teacup on the shelf
hidden away behind the others
Long ago she had found it in a dusty old shop
and held it with care as many would
close to her heart
cradling it like something precious
She took it home that day

There on her shelf was a little teacup on the shelf
shown proudly on display
Dainty and sweet with little tea stains
lips had left a little pink smudge on the corner
Loved and appreciated the teacup sat

There was a dusty teacup on the shelf
among the packed boxes it went
Surrounded by windows draped by black
and the smell of salt in the air
Packed away and stowed in a closet it stayed

There in the box lay a little teacup
dusty and chipped a bit on the edge
A reminder of times went by
of tea parties at the kitchen table
of little ladies dancing on the carpet

There among the other cups and such the teacup lay
as they mourned another lost and pulled their lips to a smile
remembering good times gone by and loves lost
Seeing the disrepair and with much care
they took the teacup from the box

There on the counter a teacup sat
freshly dusted and glued together
It stood filled with rosy tea and healing herbs
brought to a mouth kissed gently
They let out a sigh sat the cup down
and began to cry
My grandmother died recently, she used to always sit with me on the bad days and drink tea from antique cups, we would dance and sing around the kitchen till I felt better. I miss that about her. All my poetry seems to come from sorrow, perhaps I can use it to promote healing instead of despair.

One of the Crowd
will Dec 2018
We don't have to sit back and try to fit
We don't have to toughen up and be a hypocrite
We can take and stand and change it

This isn't where we make shallow friends
This isn't where our story ends
This is how we overcome the dead-ends

Our reputation changes with us
Our reputation is not superfluous
Our reputation will not be our Aeacus

Don't try to fit in and stay bowed
Don't look down make sure your head is up proud
Don't be one of the crowd
I was responding to a quote in English class today and when I looked at what I wrote I was inspired to write this.

Sorrows
will Dec 2018
We're so used to violence in our schools and on the streets
that when we go home and see it it's in the back seat.

Witnessing a crime against family,
it's like we have lost our own humanity.

The plague in our minds.
Minds, mindset with no direction.

No distractions

So we take to the bottle
with nothing but empty sorrow.

We drowned in them,
overfilled with liquid hate
and pushed down by the sorrow we saw
and felt in every corner of our lives.

We drank till we thought no more...
Thoughts, Experiences, and Witnesses. I saw violence again today, in school and outside. Why can't we do more? It is me and you who have to put a stop to it. A new generation rises up, don't burden them with today's problems.

— The End —
