The world is phenomenal
a chemical existence
filled with sickness
leukemia
anemia

The benzene
products of the wildfire forests
from volcanoes and the brontosaurus
now the ancestors implore
for the pollution to be no more

The end scene
from human production
comes the destruction
our own ignorance
becomes our Icarus

This is epiphenomenal
a by product of irresponsibility
a lack of grace and humility
we'll suffer the consequences
for our own operating expenses

If I had to compare you to anything at all,
Really, Oxygen would be my first call.
They say it makes us sure and carefree,
Yet it heats the body and calms it too.
So if I had to pick a thing for you to be,
I imagine you are my own O two.

Here’s how my mind fathoms you in its roll,
Here’s how I think you take your toll.
I need you and You need me,
I use you to hear, understand, see.
When you are near I concur to happiness,
When too close I edge towards madness,
More often than not it comes to the latter,
But in short, to me, you matter.

So you see,  I need you in any possible way,
Like O two, you captivate me every second of the day,
When you are gone I shake with yearning,
When you are near my heart is burning.
Therefore, should you ever have a doubt,
Know that without you,
                               I would not hold out.

the morphological differences
between you and i are that
i keep dividing and you keep
swallowing your tongue

not everything in the same skin
goes by the same name

the closest thing to my definition
is that of the drugs you hear about
on the television and how your
sixth grade health teacher feels
about them
on being no one to nothing

i never would've thought that seeing again those eyes that
i already
adore,
the heart would weep a little
and would languish,
and the stomach would rub its walls stressed that
the hands were shaking too.

there. thats how everything fleed inside my body,
like there's a competition between organs:
which one will break down first.
the lungs, they can not breathe anymore,
the brain, going into "freeze" mode,
the legs, suddenly not having any bones,
but a sort of gelatine that rather flows,
and flows,
and these eyes that want to wash my cheeks,
my sins.

*I think,
still,
that mum was right
when she said
that love is nothing but
chemistry and hormones...
