there stood a wall with little splashes of blue
and yellow and red and even black too
but their eyes almost bled, still no one's got a clue
with this much chaos, how should they grasp you?

barely complete, barely coherent
people acknowledged, but wondered what it meant
but those with great patience knew from the start
it's the lack and chaos that makes an art

winter snow fell twice the life of a tortoise
slowly, the colors started making a noise
highlighting its beauty, the sun gives it a kiss
today it made someone smile even during traffic

now perhaps it's okay to be puzzling at first
and lose them with the obscurity of your works
cause only one thing truly gives it meaning
that even with doubts, you never stop painting
to my best friend.
happy birthday, art.

Now
Sometimes, when it seems as if the sky
and earth,
And past
and future,
are colliding,
with no horizon
to keep them apart,
I like to close my eyes,
and think of Now.

Yesterday once made up
                                         the Now,
with colours so vivid and explosive,
sounds so vibrant and patterned,
feelings so tangible,
so real,
it seemed as if you would never be able to forget them.
But Now has turned them into
                                                                   echoes,
and Now has made the colours bleed out
into sepia browns and soft greys,
so that the image,
the memory,
is clear –
but the character, the youth, the feeling,
is disappeared.

Yet this is hope –
For today will soon be yesterday,
And tomorrow will always lie awake,
So when it feels like today is just another today,
So why worth the pain,
Grasp the morning with your two palms,
And paint yellows and fiery oranges,
And grasp the evening,
And paint purples and dusky pinks,
So that today is not just another today,
But a new today, a new Now, a new day.

And if it feels as if today will never
end,
Just remember,
that when gravity pulls you down,
and it seems light cannot get through –
it is Time that tethers us all,
like golden trees are tethered to the earth,
and silvery fish are tethered to the tide
and time will move on,
and heal and change and blend and be
the light you now see - or just
                                                     a distant
memory.

For memory is a strange thing,
Like pebbles shaped by water,
It fluctuates and alters with the forces of the sea,
Forming the bedrock of the ocean, yet everchanging
And what was once the present,
is now the past,
So that all you really have to hold on to,
To tether yourself when the current seems too strong,
To rely on when the future may not be a given,
Is your present, your today, and
our Now.

Hi
from the night sky

We roam the void, devoid of any fears
Our blue sphere behind, a red one ahead
Headed to a rock so silent and dead
And yet, back home, there are cheers

Remember us as we make it to Mars
The two robots rumbling, raising sand
Sent to examine, excavate, explore
Plucking wonders from the ore
Wandering around the wasteland

A land of dangers and dunes and dark and dust
And crust and cold and craters and clouds

High
in the white sky

Remember us as you gaze at the stars,
For when times are tough and severe
As they veer towards war and cruelty
To peer into the abyss and, yet, persevere
Is nothing less than a lesson of ingenuity

Remember your Promethean flame
Its blaze, the bravery; its ember, the brain
With that fire you made us wings
This burning desire to be airborne is our bond

As we dare mighty things
With a yearn to belong
From the pond to the sea to the ocean
to beyond!

We'll remember men kindly
longing,
And hope, perhaps idly,
That mankind is coming
right behind

Clouds occlude our view as you
Hide
in the bright sky

And, still,

A blue dot ought to be there
To believe, even being small and pale
That it can dare to achieve such a tale:
The dark is not too much to bear

G'bye
from the night sky

writing in fugue states
distress, take me
and give me dizziness
only to see black
what mistake
made me so
today, was too late
that i should have noticed before

Pursue your elusive dreams of love,
Rig the mast, set sail this very night,
Forge ahead, though the darkness blinds you,
Don't wait for day to restore your sight

You do not need to see things clearly,
For dreams are not beheld by the eyes,
That fire in your heart will be your guide
To find true love, wherever it lies

Dream of Eden before the gates closed
And two people sealed the fate of all;
Imagine the love that dwelt within!
(The secret still lies beyond that wall)

When the moon hides, don't curse the darkness,
Dare to steer your ship without a star;
Your dreams will guide you to love's fair shore,
Though the journey be tiresome and far

Take all your fantasies to the brink,
Let nothing inhibit your desires,
Stir the embers of your dying dreams,
Igniting all those forbidden fires

For dreaming is so much like praying -
Your heart cries out to some higher power
Begging for love you believe will come,
Though you know not the day nor the hour

And when your house of cards has fallen,
Don't let your heart sink into despair;
Remember, your dreams are what guide you,
So keep dreaming .... love will hear your prayer!
The human spirit ever soars
And always perseveres
“Dare mighty things”
Stirs vision’s wings
We triumph over fears

With unity - we act in faith
And step by step we build
Our aims attain
And then we strain
Toward goals not yet fulfilled

All obstacles - we push aside
We think and innovate
Reaching higher
With minds afire
Success becomes our fate

We can surpass our differences
United - Earth can stand
And then we’ll see
Prosperity
Increase across the land

I wrote this on Thursday during the landing of the NASA Rover on Mars!  The landing was inspiring to me and to millions of others across the world.  It was fun to see the motto "Dare Mighty Things" on the wall in the back of one room during the landing.

Oh mama I tried my best
Danced across the lawn
Oh mama I was not blessed
Heart sang until dawn

Your protector held me close
Casual conversation with a hand below
From open door she took off her clothes
Trust was broke—buried under snow

Like a sister only she was bruised
Another had tainted the shell
How could she have known
This was just another hell

In youth he was my friend
Held me to his chest
Innocent yet I felt shame
Was this more evil than ******

Oh how I thought I could pretend
Poetry on a doormat
Mama would that make you proud
If I were as tame as a house cat

I grew older and tried even harder
She smiled and I bowed
Oh my stars it was so strange
Lips silent while my soul was loud

Oh mama here am I
More me than I've ever been
Oh mama can you see
(Oh mama can't you see)
I ignite the night like a firefly

Oh mama he broke my heart
Made me happy until I thought I'd break
(Made me happy, made me shake)
Oh mama he turned away
Love twisted like a snake

Oh mama I’m a monument
Chiseled by loss, painted in pain
Oh mama I love you so
I am onyx now—do not lament

Children, she is magic
She smirks with a spark
Children, she is a celestial body
A matriarch

Oh mama I tried my best
Well-taught by you
Oh mama I am blessed
Spell is broken
Truth is spoken
Life awoken
From the ground
Something springs up
Anew

I am born from the ash

Every time I die.

I fall from the way

Again I try.
Failure is inevitable in the earthly life. But the one who can overcome the failure and again stand up is the successful.
