Tea has never tasted
So **** bitter
No amount of
Sugar
Or
Honey
Can drive out
This harsh
Biting taste
That will forever be on my tongue
Because
Of
You
Sombro Dec 2014
Tell me something
Honey bee
What's the point
In you and me?
Is it to fly?
To fly so free?
Won't you tell me,
Honey bee?

Stripey black and
Yellow too,
What's the point
In me and you?
Is it the flower,
The nectar glue,
Which you find nice
And I do too?

I scratch my head
And drink my tea.
You dance your dance
And make honey.
Us two together
We know, do we
The sweet things we make
Make us sweetly free.
There's no deep meaning to this one, just a silly poem. :)
Suzy Hazelwood Dec 2014
She led him piece by piece down to her water of life,
and even though he knew she was possibly quite crazy,
he didn't mind at all,
because sanity was never his anyway.

She fed him tea and poetry,
and the wonders of her endless thought,
sweeter than honey,
a different kind of bliss,
an ecstasy, a loving bed of like minds and theology.

They drifted on ripples of euphoria,
with a kind of nakedness that opens eyes to the unknown,
and teaches the independent heart
how not to recover from the blending of souls.

In the passing of time, even the most ancient memory
won't fail to recall her living water,
the loving bed,
the poetry infused with tea
and her beautiful crazy mind.
Inspired and very loosely based on Leonard Cohen's song 'Suzanne'.  My favourite version is by Judy Collins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkamRumVXn4
My feeling on this song is that it's about fascination and magnetic attraction when the love of someone, or the idea of how wonderful they are sweeps you off your feet.  So that is what this poem is about.  You can read the lyrics to the song here -> http://www.lyricsfreak.com/l/leonard+cohen/suzanne_20082890.html

I'm sorry
The words seemed to be frozen on my screen
Once upon a time
Our hearts beat as one
Your smile used to be summer sunshine on a cloudy day
I'm sorry*
The words shows there's a crack
in the perfection we had
it had to be said
We used to hold each other on the coldest nights
Promising to be the north star in the darkest night
I'm sorry
I'm not what the cover of the book portrays
but the pages are printed
Please don't set this book down yet
If you stay maybe you'll see more of the pages
I'm sorry
Sprinting from your throat
honey to my ears
fiery tears running down my face
Surveying the damage
**It it enough though

To live
is so often to bleed
and I bleed deeply
my tongue stabs my bowels
following a broken mind
that my pills won't silence
I could ask for more
or take the hard,  effective route
and digest my brain
But I blind myself,
calling out a hollow question
consuming the ashes
while denying apathy
To live
is so often to lie,
and I lie deeply
Not until my weakest moment will I admit to the havoc of my actions upon myself and begin to heal again

"Relax." He said.
"You look like you're going to break any second."
Oh, honey.
You don't know how wrong you are,
Because I'm already broken.

My tongue is
       dripping
             with honey
     and gold,
        my voice is
   even sweeter
        and richer.

Glistening golden cells
Geometrically stacked
Decanting crystalline ambrosia
Sweet and sticky
One step from the Sun
Dripping, oozing from on high
From its mathematic matrix
Millimeter by millimeter
Into my mouth
