Tears rolled down my cheek
Moistened the Earth beneath me
I sunk to my knees
Gazed upward at the sea of turbulent skies
I closed my eyes and felt the downpour of twilight
Guess we have that in common tonight
Mother Nature must also want to cry
But she tells me that this will not last
As I open my palms
My hands begin to dry
April showers can empower
For when the storm does pass
The land will glisten
The flowers will thrive
And so will I
Anyone heard of "escapril?" It's "escaping into poetry every day in April," (on instagram) in other words, a 30 day challenge where you write a poem and follow prompts each day. Here's one of them :)

I see your eyes flicker as droplets on our skins dance to the ground.
Your smile widens as the water clicks the cement our heels tread on.
For a moment I am suspended in your love.
My soul expands to the sky, the earth, and the water in between.
Perhaps April will be my favorite moment between us.

April is the pouring rain
Frog beats and birthday wishes
Warm nights and short clouds
Wrapped in foggy breaths.

at night you can find me
planted onto the tile floor
the shower water gushing against my hunched back feels like a hug
each trickle resembles your fingers
- i'm trying to erase you,
scrub away the marks you've left on my wrists,
the bruised knees
but your threatening undertone
rings in my head
stings the sterile lights,
they will always flicker.

To every poet
that turned misery to beauty
reality to fantasy
life into poetry
love into mystery
words into sorcery

To every poet whose
word on paper
is an invitation
to play with fire

Three convenience store employees thought what they did was funny but I think it was cruel.
Those three people said that I won a thirty million dollar lottery and then yelled "April Fool".
They sold me a fake lottery ticket with the winning numbers.
They started laughing and said that a person couldn't be any dumber.
For a few minutes, they tricked me into believing that I was a rich man.
I thought that I could drive a Rolls Royce and throw away my minivan.
When those idiots yelled "April Fool", all hell broke loose.
They thought it was funny and didn't expect such abuse.
I beat the hell out of all three of them and they made loud thuds when they fell.
I'm as poor as I ever was and now I will be spending the next year or two in jail.
I'm in a lot of trouble, I also broke some other things in addition to breaking the law.
When I repeatedly punched those convenience store clerks, I broke their ribs and jaws.
My obese mother-in-law just yelled "April Fool" after saying that she was going to pay my bail.
I just knocked her on her bloated **** so now I guess I'll be spending even more time in jail.

Blissful Ignorance
Love in spring and April tears
I was your fool then
I just wanted to try writing a Haiku. I don't think I really like this style of poetry though. It's really nice but I'm more of a rhymer than a syllabic person.

Blessed rice on rivers of love
confetti danced into the ocean
salt preserved the truth with consummate glory

How would it be if something hideous was precious?

What if you find out now what was concealed then?
