I'm afraid of plucking away at old memories.
They bite. It hurts.
And the more I remember,
The more I'm consumed.
Don't forget,
Poison remains poison.
The antidote is up to you.
Life always felt too short,
Like our plans exceeded time itself.
Longer was never long enough, I knew.
Half-truths turned into calamities forgotten on the shelf.

The importance of being free.
Absent from my own life,
Free myself from the gravity.

Just another masterpiece
Ending in a tragedy.
Falling as the stars fall,
Tethered to you.
We felt the forces of gravity and friction all too soon.
Out of truth,
You started wildfires across my heart.
The noxious fumes choke me.
I'm blinded,
But dance in the flames as we persist.
In Summer,
Our love was set ablaze
Like the marigolds,
Red and yellow all throughout.

As if the Sun kissed a flower,
The embodiment of our fire--
It would grow until it burned out.
You and I,
We were walking on the moon.
Not even gravity could bring us down.

Not a care in the world,
It was just us two.
Crash landing,
Home bound
Was the last of what we wanted to do.
Connecting starlight over rooftops,
Pleading to save my soul.
I look to the night sky to make me feel whole.
Perhaps it's the beauty
Or is it its presence?
When all else fails to be,
It is.
