This world is so centered on take
Love and romance:
It's never give or create

Love is seen as property
This broken world
Demands intimacy

Extracting from every being
Now love is nothing
When it used to be everything

A settle bit
On my lips
To take away
To take away
The settle hint
Of pain-
In my heart
It won't go
I'm left the same once again
Alone in my head
False reality of comfort
you'd shown
-It's how you always
Left us
And I'm scared
Of being alone

She wouldn't, couldn't give her name,
but they still took her in when she called.
I visited, adopted her,
though she must have been in her twenties.

We called her Monica. It seemed to fit.
She never spoke, sitting at her half opened window,
sampling a sliver of the fraught stree air.
I don't think she could take any more of the real world.

She stayed there safe in her dull, blue walled retreat,
an observer, lacking a ticket of entry.
And when darkness fell, and the curtains were closed,
the house lights went up on her secret, inner theatre.
Based on an Edward Hopper painting.

For the first time in a long time I cried over spilt milk. I wept over the little things. But the thing is that these little things combine with others and that becomes your life. And it seems that the little things hurt the most and the pain that seems to be perpetually hovering ready to spring up is the cycle that I'm doomed in for eternity.
I should have never told you that. Be careful with your words it my be your last.

Retraction*

You can't retract those words
Like angry bees and scorpion stings
That drive a wedge,
Split the bonds that join at the hem
And sever the ties that tie
Those words don't lie

You said what you said
And pierced at the heart
Five lambs to the slaughter
By ruthless words
Sticks and stones
Surely break bones
But bones will heal
The heart will not

Am I not yours?
Do we live a lie?
You're pretending
And slowly breaking
Ligaments that join us
Bone to bone
Flesh to flesh
Though we be not yours
Yours we are

You can't retract those words
Like angry bees and scorpion stings
But the wedge is in your hands
What will you do next?

Have you ever thought why?
If give and take was the
ultimate measure in life
what did we give to be born
to gain the life in the first place?

Take my hand ...

And let's dance ...
it's our night ..
it's the night ..
where we will ..
show each others ..
one to the other ..
the love that we hold ..
inside and so deep ...
from a long years ...
since we were ..
so young  ...
since our eyes met ...
yes sweetheart ...
it's our night ...
take my hand ...
and dance with me ...
dance within your feelings ...
run around me ...
hug me to your heart ...
hold me with your arms ...
and dance with me ...
dance with every part of me ...
here and now ...
on our love's theater ...
with now stop ...
let's dance ...
as all birds in the sky ...
as a butterflies dancing ...
with every flower and rose ...
as the light candles ...
waves with a soft wind ...
yes sweetheart ...
take me hand ...
and let's dance ...
and after dancing ...
let's run to our bed ...
there where we will dance ...
again and again ...
through body and soul ...
naked bodies ...
pure souls ...
asking only to dance ...
and to get sweet love ...
while it' dancing together ...
making a loving love ...

yes sweetheart ...
take my hand ..
to dance ...
