Homeless.

A red sunset on a nice warm beach;
A place to call my own, to get some self-respect.
A job in an office with a decent wage;
Two point four children and a couple of pets.
A wife to lay beside me, till the day that I die;
These are the dreams I have and they help me survive.

Life on the streets isn't peaches and cream;
It's the hardest way of living, so just make a change.
You may lose all your hope, but never lose your dreams;
Because you know in your heart, things can't stay the same.

It's all downhill from here, if you don't sort things out;
You’re going to die real soon my friend, if you don't get a house.
A place to call home, a place to lay your hat;
These are the things that you dream about.
You'd make it in life, if someone helped you find home;
But you have got to help yourself and I think you know that.

Life on the streets isn't peaches and cream;
It's the hardest way of living, so just make a change.
You may lose all your hope, but never lose your dreams;
Because you know in your heart, things can't stay the same.

Hold onto your dreams, for one day they may come true;
You might make it in life and get all you deserve.
Or you could give up on life and just throw in the towel;
You must think about yourself and decide what you’re worth.

Is life worth hanging onto?  Or will you roll over and die?
You won't feel any more pain and you'll no longer cry.
But you'll never see them smile, when you make it in life;
You will never have a family and you will never have a wife.

Life on the streets isn't peaches and cream;
It's the hardest way of living, so just make a change.
You may lose all your hope, but never lose your dreams;
Because you know in your heart, things can't stay the same.

When you dreamt about that beach, with the red sunset;
Did you really want those things?  Or did you lie to yourself?
Because if you want them there they are;
Just go right ahead and get them;
Or give up on life my friend and you we can forget.

The Absolute Truths of a Sonderer; a project of homelessness and homefoundness.

1. Everything we see or do is an influence
Everything we hear or say is an influence.
We must define good & bad influence, and create accordingly.

2. Our personas exist in four dimensions
At home, at work, in transience, and as digital
All require boundaries, development and love.

3. Everyone is a dreamer, aspiring in their own way.
Share your dreams through demonstration & action.
Don't sacrifice your dream in pursuit of another's

4. Celebrate the diversity of identities people can be
Enrichen your worldview with another's definition of home.
Be weary of mindsets locked to race, gender or nationality.

5. Find comedy in the world's tragedies
Deliver comfort in moments of distress
For happiness isn't opposite of sadness, but rather encompasses it.

6. There is yet to be a human whose mental health stands invincible.
Permitting another to speak may be all the health they need
Acknowledge battle scars do not lie solely on the flesh

7. Wasting your ears is as criminal as wasting words
Seek knowledge, in whatever form, when a listener.
Express love, in whatever form, when a speaker

8. One man's trash may genuinely be another's treasure
Discard people or ideas when their weight grows disproportionate.
All will be reclaimed, repurposed, and reloved.

9. Our vices grant infinite patience for stupidity,
Spirits that steal from the future to consume the present moment
Their intended use will rarely match their outcomes

10. Your value is to be as treasured as your survival
Whether celebrated or beaten, ignored or adored
It is yours alone to define, and yours alone to defend.

I love you all,

A generation mistook as ignorant
but withholds great knowledge
as they grew up on the streets
they learned that life is easier took
than given.

Gunshots are the only symphony they hear
they stray away from the compelling noise
wishing they could disappear.

Choking on the lethal gas that fills the atmosphere
sheltering under a bridge, for no one truly cares
be stealthy be smart,
on the streets, you never know
whats lurking in the dark.
I hope this relates to some readers

Still Running

She’s still running,
so when I offered her my home,
and a place to unpack,
she didn’t even stay long enough to hang her clothes,

I suppose,
we’ve all gotta find our way on our own,
I suppose,
not every place we lay our head is our home,

in a zone,
can’t answer my phone,
don’t know where it started,
or where it will end,

she said she wanted a friend,
someone she could feel comfortable,
but I betrayed her trust because I’m a Man in Lust,
so instead of a friend I touched her like her drunk uncle did,

I’m sick,
don’t go so far as to put anything in,
but I did cross a line,
when I got turned on and held her hand,

****,

****,
what happened to our plans,
****,
what happened to a Happily Ever After end,

what ever happened to functional,
why do we have to all grow up so fckt up,
when well we find a place where we can heal,
who will help you me us we finally grow up,

I’m torn up,
and I know exactly how she feels,
because I was taken advantage of as a kid too,
and I know exactly how much she wants to heal,

but you can’t heal a wound,
if you don’t open it up,
and she’s still busy running from your pain,
and covering up her cuts,

and this is exactly why,
when I started to cry,
she began to get scared,
and decided to take flight,

because she thought I was becoming,
exact what she feared the most,
which is an unstable person,
that can not offer her solid support,

so she left,
without closure,
and I messaged her,
once I’d gained my composure,

I apologized for being so emotional,
and for not communicating with her clearly,
I wrote her I’d do anything to see her again,
I wrote her that I missed her very dearly,

she wrote back saying I could meet her at the airport,
to say goodbye,
but asked me not to ask her to come back,
because she wasn’t changing her mind,

I immediately agreed,
and asked her what time her flight was,
9:45 at LAX,
which was exactly when and where my flight was,

so we met at the airport,
and had a soul to soul,
you know the kind of conversation,
that simply can not be had over a telephone,

I apologized,
for not being the man then that I was now,
and told her,
if she came back I’d be willing to take that vow,
she smiled,
saying we’d only known each other a few days,
I smiled,
and replied when it comes to Infinite Love time doesn’t matter anyways,

we said our farewells,
and I watched her disappear up the stairs,
then I went to check in for my flight,
because I too had to get out of there,

and wouldn’t you know it,
in a twist of fate,
it turned out that my flight and her flight,
were departing from the same gate,

31A and 31B,
this must be destiny,
so there we were a with each other again,
just her and me,

and this is when she told me,
as the salty water began to appear in windows to her soul,
that when I’d called her to invite her to California,
she’d thought that she’d finally found a place where she could feel comfortable,

how she’d been in this cycle of meeting men that made her feel unstable,
and I knew she’d been in this cycle ever since her drunk uncle,
and I knew that even though I’d improved and could provide the stability she craved,
it was too late and she was gone gone away to probably repeat the same mistakes,

because she’s not going to get rid of the issue until the issue is faced,
and she’s not going to be able to face her issues if she keeps running away,
and I could have been the one to see her through be her truth and heal her too,
but instead I just lusted after her became emotionally unstable and pushed her away,

and that hurt me more than almost anything ever,
because I realized I’d betrayed her trust in the worst way,
I realized all she needed was a true friend and then maybe a lover,
not a lover that she didn’t love that couldn’t behave,

and then I watched her walk away,
for the 3rd time in as many of days,
and even though she walked,
we both knew what she was really doing was running away…

Wait a minute.
wait a minute , wait a minute.

Wait a minute, is there more corruption going in the city?
a lot of homeless people living out of abandon houses
staying in the dark allies where they pet the kittens,
In a country that is run by villains,
no one look for guidance,
Better stay awake and be aware for all the things that you know is
questionable,
How do you explain donald trump talking control?
you can't cause its unmeasurable...

But that's okay,
lie awake in utter silence from the people that will know whats going on,
****,
a place in the universe that you don't wanna be if you lie upon,
pass,
some many people have came and gone in unexpected life expectancy,
so tell me is this where you want to be?
so wait a minute,
you're telling me there is a prophecy so inescapable that any man
could be shattered by this in a matter of seconds,
guess that why we're not safe at all,
Wheres the rabbit hole, I wanna fall,
defeat the beast and overcome it , the vultures are coming , i hope you can bare it all,
I hope so but wait a minute.

We watch them every day
Living through hell
While we overindulge and feel the joys of life

Why don’t we see the misery all around us
Why don’t we feel their pain
Why are we ok with ignoring their cries for help

Are we all ok with their suffering
Are we so selfish that we value our belongings over their lives
Or are we just all asleep dreaming of a world where we don't have to feel uncomfortable when they ask for our money

When will we no longer be ok with their suffering
When will their lives come before our trinkets
When will we finally awake to see the people we hurt everyday

Until then we will continue to
Watch them every day
Living through hell
While we overindulge and feel the joys of life

I was innocent,
Or was I a fool.
He smiled,
Courted me lovingly,
I gave him my love.
He cuddled and cooed,
I gave myself to him.
He cried crocodile tears,
Pretended he was in deep trouble,
He pleaded with me to help him.
I gave him my money,
I signed guarantees on his behalf.
I was a fool,
He took all,
He drives my car,
He lives in my house,
He runs my business.
I live with the homeless.

Don’t stare,
but
don’t look away

as if we don’t exist or
will disappear.

Don’t judge.
“So glad that’s not me”

It could be.

Don’t assume
“drugs”…”lazy”
“offer a dollar
it’ll go for *****”

You don’t know

Don’t presume to grasp
the reasons,
the whys the wherefores
don’t write us off
as useless,
worthless,

less…

If you can’t help,
don’t want to help,
are afraid to help,
don’t trust,

then

Just offer a smile,
A good wish or prayer

But acknowledge we exist,
we, too, are human.
We breathe, we feel,
We need…
trust and love,

Not disdain,
not even pity
if that is all you have
to give…

don’t…
Was reminded of this as I read Gregory Monroe's "Strange Angels" which says so much in so few words! (And has a much more creative title!)

Beneath the tattered roof with rays of disquietude peeping is where you will find me
My feet swollen because I have no sandals
My clothes are torn and you can see my flesh
Tightly attached to my bones like leggings.

I am a cave man. I search only for food and a place to sleep
At night the cold cuddles and I can barely sleep
The mosquitoes sing restless hymns in my ears and my blood is the price for their service.
I go from street to street with an unwashed body
Begging, then stealing becomes the only option.

I come from a world where pain and suffering is no visitor
A world where hymns of death are sung daily
Begging to leave this world, hoping to find joy at the other side.
What if we continue this
journey at the other side?
Singing hymns of agony for eternity
