The dark arch of sins
Has venenated the pure souls
And the veil of greed
Has blinded us all
The beast of the evil
Is now unshackled
This destructive evil
Has made us devil
Desires have devitalised our souls
Dark has made us deaf
Dolorific sounds echo in our heads
But we stay mum just like dead
Even the heart of hallows, are now shallow
And the gratifying cities are grave-yards of mankind
Hope for light and thefate to change
The wheel of time will turn around
And the Good Lord will again rise
To bring the Dusk to Dolourous Dark.

You made me feel like dusk makes me feel
Happy yet sad
Sure yet uncertain
Secure yet insecure

You were the light coming through the window but
I was so oblivious, I turned on the light

Vor dem Gesetz steht ein Türhüter.
                                      --Kafka*

This is a day
like the many days I've spent

empty handed
among the shadows at dusk

that cast no reflections
in the reflecting pools

and hold no illusions
as to what really is illusive.

But on this day my illusions
are changing

imagining that for once my world is based
upon three things;

The rule of law

The five books of your hand

And you, the prophetess that wrote them.

And as required
I will build a hedge for you.

And if this hedge
should ever over grow,
I will then trim it
like a true guardian of the law

Allowing none other entry
and I alone will hold fast

to the five books of your hand
and the only other existing copy.
a slightly different version of this poem was published in EUROPEAN JUDAISM (UK) 25:1 (Spring 1992) p. 59

The sting of raindrops,
a thirst for outdoors.
Dusk, and the
whisper of leaves,
a certain silence. The evening hangs
still. I want to observe the
moment of change,
the discovery of strength,
a joining.
Featured along with other fine poems in my poetry collection, "Witch", available on Amazon or through Lulu.
The days blend seamlessly into one another,
Like dusk til dawn exists
In the blink of some cosmic eye,
Dazed but not blinded
By the dapple pattern of the stars
Against the interstellar void.

The days fly endlessly by,
Like leaves being blown away
On some strange autumn wind,
Destined to go
Places where I’m not.

The days never end,
Until they do,
Like some starcraft distant
In both space and time,
Finding the edge of the universe
And falling over it.

Your shadow runs in the sunset,
Leaping over buildings in its stride,
The waning day fills me with regret,
Of lost chances I can't provide.

The lonely road stretches ahead,
Bereft bridge I cross everyday.
Starlight upon a tousled head,
The moon that lights the way.

I want to let the fire have you,
You're mine to hold when you weep,
Brave heart that needs a rescue.
Your deepest desires I keep.

At dusk our shadows blend together,
Flying high we seek the same things,
You're my compass and my cover,
And tonight you become my wings.
Who are you? Where are you?

Fireflies luminate in wake of a setting sun
Tiny beacons becoming a river of light
Riding the current into the dusk dreams
The delicate drink of the evening affairs

Night owls, inspired by the twilight
Screech a verse with midnight maddness
Acrobatic arms orchestrate sunset tunes
Big booms serenade noctournal beast

Dark now blooms with wild music
The New Moon offering her acoustic
Play on, play on, before they wake
The Sunset Symphony, until day break

You are the kind of marvel that reveals the suns bright side
The kind that calls the moon to bring out his warmth
You kiss the glow of the ever setting dusk
And wake up the early rising dawn

You are my sun and moon
You are my dawn and dusk
You are my earth
You are most simply darling,
My everything

Night's dark warm embrace,
the presence of a blanket,
bright sparks in the sky.

Dawn's rosy fingers,
pull the sun out from hiding,
leaves diamonds on the grass.

The sun gets bolder,
now burning off the diamonds,
starts a scorching reign.

Dawn now pronounces,
the hot sun's job is now done,
Night comes once again.
Another poem from my eleven year old days! This one is better though. Loved working with the 5-7-5 pattern

i want to be your sun
the reminder that all of those demons are gone
i want to be the one
who you yearn to see at midnight
i want you to grasp my wrist at dusk
pleading me to never leave at twilight
no, i dont want to be your moon
i dont need a ball of fire behind me to shine,
no, i dont want to be your stars
there is only one me that you should find
i am more than a silhouette of something shallow,
i am not that broken to scatter all around your black treacle
but i want to be your constant dose of relief
those demons behind your face will vanish because of me
yet you always seek for those **** little twinkling dots
because there is more of them
but i am also one of them, why can't you see?
it's probably because your eyes burn when you look at me.
