i was 7 when i learned
what a cemetery was
we were walking through
the number of headstones
with names and dates
written upon them

i asked my father
what this place was
he grabbed my hand
that felt so small in his
he looked down at me with his hazel eyes
and said
it's where people go
when their time with us is up

i looked around
at the dozens of stones
and asked
how many are there?
he said
i haven't counted
so i said
that
someone should

why can't we buy and sell emotions?
let's make a new world where we could?
shall we?

i would sell my joy i guess
it's really annoying i can't stand it
because it's comes and goes when it pleases

and i would buy trust
because it would be pleasing
to count on someone

what would you sell or buy?
anger, fear, shame, envy or sadness?
courage, confidence, patience, kindness or love?

join me in this mystery..

(i want it so bad, but, baby)
(i need it so badly, too)

Love sweet nothings turn to syrup.
I can't hear the wind through window.
The ants love me, want me for food.
Tell me how: how is that not you?

You're right, it's nice getting something
                                 for nothing.
Let me tell you right now:
                      In my age
I've learned to love
       a better way.

  No free sample
       Lifetime return
              Free exchange
                   That's the way,
                       the buy sell trade.
This is for the ants. Learn to give a little.
They said to buy local so I tried to buy Dave Cull’s lung.
But he wouldn’t sell it.
They said to buy local,
So I tried to buy Michael Woodhouse’ heart,
But it was out of stock.
The shop girl told me she would check out the back.
They said to buy local so I tried to buy Lee Vandervis’ hands,
He said he’d sell them to me but I tried them out and they had no grip.
The said to buy local so I tried to buy Harlene Haynes nose,
But it was already in something else.
(she told me it was malicious of me to ask and threatened me with defamation)
They said to buy local so I tried to buy the Highlanders cauliflower ears,
so I’d have enough florets for a salad,
But it turned out they weren’t organic, so I left it.
They said to buy local so I tried
They said to buy local so I tried
They said to buy local so I tried
And I tried
And I tried
And I tried

They said to buy local
-but between the dilapidated hospital and the drafty-damp flats there were no good organs to purchase.
