I can’t wait until you realize
that nobody is ever going to love you
like I did and you have to cry over me
like I have over you for the past 8 years of my life.
I can’t wait to bring my significant other around you
while you pretend to ignore us as we kiss
and fool around under blankets.
I can’t wait to bring them to your house
and **** while you’re in the same room trying to sleep,
pretending to sleep, wishing you were dead.
I can’t wait until you lose your mind
and everyone looks at you like you’re crazy
as you explain how you love me and
you can’t do anything about it
even though I've told you that it’s never going to happen
because you aren't good enough.
I can’t wait to always look past you
as you do everything in your power to try and make me happy,
hook me up with your friends
and give me everything, but receive nothing.
I can’t wait until you beg me and I can be selfish
and make sure you’re giving me what I want,
neglecting your own needs, before I push you away
using “I’m tired” as an excuse.
I can’t wait until you are hurting yourself over me
and I have to tell you to stop, as if I give a ****,
while I continuously put you through pain.
I can’t wait until you drunkenly admit all of your feelings
and apologize for the mistakes of the past.
Even then, I’ll probably still love you, but I won’t give in.
You will never have me;
because the last time I lent you my heart, you ran with it.
I don’t think I’ll ever get it back.
And with no heart, I cannot forgive,
I can never be whole again.
I can’t wait for another chance in another life to break you, like you've broken me.

You waited for me,
So I wait for you.

I wait for you to text,
I wait for you to call,
I wait for you to love me.

You made promises,
Beautiful dreams
And I wait for them to come true.

You say it will get better,
That everything will change,
So I wait for your words to become reality.

I wait for you to come home,
Where I wait for more bad news
And more promises.

I wait alone,
Becoming more and more hopeless
That your words will ever be
Anything but words.

I keeping waiting
I keep pleading
Now all I want is the truth.

I wait for you to decide
I wait for you to let go
Or just tell me that you won't.

I wait for you to answer me,
Knowing that you won't
So I can stop waiting
For your love to come home.

In the silence,
It's my turn to decide.
I decide i've been too patient,
You've wasted my time.

And yet somehow,
I still wait for you to care.
I still hope you'll prove me wrong.

Because love is patient,
And love is all I have for you.

So you take my time,
Hour by hour,
Day by day,
I wait.

Maybe I'm waiting for something
That I will never get back,
The way you used to care.

Maybe I'll take this clock I keep checking
All the way to my grave.

From under the dirt,
My heart will keep counting the seconds,
Keep waiting for your love.

I'd give you every second
Of the time I have left,
But it wouldn't mean a thing to you.

To you, my time is free.
To you, my patience has no value
Because it is all that you know.

It cannot be taken for granted,
Because it is granted unconditionally.
Whether you want it or not.

So I wait,
As the clock keeps ticking,
For my heart to finally stop.

Maybe when my time is up,
It will finally mean something to you.
Wait! Wait!
A pinch of salt in my heart,
Keeps inflaming through the halt.

Wait! Wait!
Some lost in their lives, living with you
Some lost their lives for the pain given by you.

Wait! Wait!
When people meet you,
To the expectations they live up,
When people breathe you,
To the life they give up.

Wait! Wait!
To some you yield results,
To the most you offered upsets.

With perseverance, I get towards my aim,
As an interference, you send me back with a shame

People exclaim what God say
Why fear when I am here.
But Mr. Wait. You say
Nothing here, when I am near.

Through you, I faced disappointment.
With your end comes my accomplishment

Hello Mr. Wait. I warn you
The more you live with me,
The more I turn rebellious.
The more you give me woe,
The more I become your foe.

Thank you Mr. Wait.
You made me the best Hunter animal with a ferocious killer instinct,
I won't leave this instinct, till you become extinct.

Challenge for a change,
Revenge for an exchange.
I personified wait as a person. In career, what waiting does? This is is what I wrote. Waiting may be sweeter when it is more personal. But when one is rejected chances due to money, poverty or other reasons, a person is pushed to live with that waiting till the end of his life. Waiting has stolen many successes and even life. This is the central theme of the poem. But, beyond it, waiting offers a never defeating strength to attain an insurmountable task. It gives that Hunter and killer instinct to win with that aggressive spirit. That's what I told in the poem.

…Wait
…Wait
…Wait
…Wait
You don’t have to leave
…Wait
…Wait
…Wait
…Wait
That’s not ok with me
I can’t live if you leave
…Wait
…Wait
Wait for me
That dreadful moment of desperation when your significant other holds all of the emotional power over you.
It's an interesting struggle,
Bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders
When you brought it on yourself.
It's even more interesting when you have no support.
When your shoulders sink and your feet drag and your heart does both
Sitting in the corner, with your knees tucked up under your chin
Your head resting gently on your legs, Your arms wrapped around your ankles
Fingers interlaced.
The last thread
Holding together a mess of pieces
A last shred of hope.
Waiting for some small morsel of comfort
Waiting for some measure of assurance
But truly what remains is hopelessness.
The only assurance is that you will grab the trashcan and
Systematically purge your stomach of its contents
Against your will
And then you will systematically brush your teeth
To systematically get rid of the taste and the burn.
You will sit down in the corner systematically and wait
Wait for the burp and the burn
Wait to grab the trashcan
Wait to hold your hair out of your face
Wait for the taste of bile
Wait for the heave
Wait for the air to rush back into your lungs
Wait for the taste of toothpaste
Wait for the paper towel against the chapped corners of your mouth
Wait to sit back down and
Wait for it to happen again.
And maybe
Maybe you will wait for some comfort
But the only comfort
Is the warmth of your favorite sweater
Well worn, and comfy
But a sweater only warms so much
When your heart and soul
Have frozen over
And anything meaningful
Remains in the closet,
A skeleton of judgement.
It's an interesting struggle.

I can't  wait to hold you,

You missed. Be by your side

To the moon light night moon.

Wait to be by your side whipe
Away your tears, baby be there to dry
Your eyes. Show you that love
Can be so true i can't  wait to
Hold you tight baby love

Disclaimer: I don't own the song "Little Do You Know" by Alex and Sierra. All rights go to them for this poem. I simply used their song and changed up some of the words because this song is special to me and the person this poem is about. (If you haven't heard this song I highly recommend btw).

Little do you know how much you truly mean to me
Little do you know I'm so attached to our memories.
Little do you know I feel my heart break piece by piece
Little do you know I
Can't stand saying goodbye.

Underneath it all, I've learned how to hide the ache inside
I've been counting down the days until you're by my side
I've loved you for so long but these feelings are so hard to hide
Little do you know I
Can't stand saying goodbye.

I'll wait, I'll wait
I'll love you even if it leads to pain
I'll wait
Just promise me you'll never change
I'll wait
I promise we can stay the same
So let me hold you tight.

Little do you know you're my last thought before I fall asleep
Little do you know your smile is my favorite sight to see
Little do you know my time with you is so bittersweet
Little do you know I
I've loved you for all this time.

Just wait, oh wait
I love you and I'm not afraid
Just wait
As long as you can let me stay
Everything will be all right.

I'll wait, I'll wait
I'll love you even if it leads to pain
I'll wait
Just promise me you'll never change
Just wait
I promise we can stay the same
So let me hold you tight.

All will be all right.
As long as you stay my light.

Cause little do you know I
I've loved you for all this time.

Penny was born on a cold Christmas eve,
Her dad then decided it was time to leave.
She grew up with just a mother,
But always longed for a brother.

She moved out at 18 to a flat by herself,
With just enough space for one book on her shelf.
So life passed her by in a lonely haze,
But that changed at the park, when he caught her gaze.

From across the lawn he mouthed her the words
"Wait for me there"
She sat on the bench, patient and fair.
So he ran round the park and fell at her side and said,
"I don't know your name but I want to be true,
My name is Tom and I'd like to know you"

And then just like that she moved in with him,
It came easily to them like ducks learning to swim.
And ten months in she knew it was right,
And these were the words she shared with him that night:

"I'll wait for you there,
In front of our families and all of our friends I promise,
I'll wait for you there,
On our wedding day, please, Thomas?"

She knew it was crazy to think about it,
But the news that followed would scare him a bit.
She followed her proposal with tears in her eyes,
"I'm pregnant and even I am surprised."

The child grew up with a father and mother,
And she vowed she would get him a little brother.
They played in the street, until someone would fall,
She stuck to her promises and always delivered,
Then one day Tom answered his call,
And then she received an email, and shivered.

"As I walk in the door I know something is wrong,
And I fear that I won't be living for long.
There's a man up above who is calling my name,
So listen to the next few words, please Penny, I'll explain.

"I'll wait for you there,
I'm sorry I had to part you this way but please just know that,
I'll wait for you there.
There'll be a place for you right next to my bed,
And don't let your feelings go straight to your head,
I love you so much and my feelings are bare, so one last time,
I'll wait for you there"

Years have gone by now and Penny lives alone,
Every time she moves she let's out a groan.
She can't move her head or stand up or bend,
She knows her time is coming to an end.

In the hospital bed, her eyes shut tight,
She whispers
"It's okay, I'll be with you tonight."
And just like that as quick as a flash,
She was gone.
Holding a note left from Tom.

"I'll wait for you there,
When you're happy and ready to leave this world, I promise,
I'll wait for you there.
When your feet fail you and you struggle to move,
Just hold on because,
I'll wait for you there."

Why must I wait to be served?
Why must I wait to be seated?
Why must I wait to be collected?
Why must I wait to be chosen?
Why must I wait to be next?
Why must I wait to be picked?
Why must I wait anymore?
I need not wait anymore for the final chance
Why must I wait?
I don’t need to wait anymore,
What I want is right here

Don't wait.
Go farther.
Don't wait.
Go bigger.
Don't wait.
Go deeper.
Don't wait.
Go grander.
Don't wait.
Go explore.
Don't wait.
Go learn.
Don't wait.
Go live.
Don't wait.
Go love.
Don't wait.
Go

I said that I would wait.
I put it down in words.
Even though the distance was slowly and painfully beginning to settle in,
I said I would wait.

I promised that regardless of what happened,
I’d wait,
Because somewhere, deep inside me, I knew we were worthy of it.

I returned,
Heavy bag in hand, tired eyes, heart full of hope,
But you weren’t waiting.

You stopped waiting.
You didn’t even have the courage to tell me about her.
After all our history, the years, the growing, the learning, the tears,
I thought you’d maybe wait.

But you didn’t.
You were gone before I could even touch you, smell you,
Hold you.

You didn’t wait.
And now, I sit here.
I sit and wait,
I wait…
And wait…
But I’m not sure what I’m waiting for.

Because you were gone before I could even whisper “wait”.
Minds change, children age,
As we wait for the right moment,
Worlds burn, faces turn,
As we wait for the right moment,
That which was green and flourishing,
Turns brown and sickening,
As we wait for the right moment,
What was previously a vision becomes dull,
As we wait for the right moment,
Ideas die, they all forget,
As we wait for the right moment,
The words once spoke,
Are no longer known,
As we wait for the right moment,
The orderly become chaotic,
As we wait for the right moment,
With irrational resistance,
Friendships come to end,
As we wait for the right moment,
Lovers break apart,
With a simple change of heart,
As we wait for the right moment
Ignatius Hosiana Feb 2017
Some people wait until there are no more phone calls
or texts buzzing in through the day and night
until there are no ears to listen and arms to embrace
until there are no more whispers and lips to kiss
to appreciate a presence of love in their life
some folks wait until there's no more breakfast on bed
or the golden smile like the orange orb
of the dawn in their wake to light up their day...
to appreciate the effort invested even in just wearing a smile...
Some people wait until they walk along
the beach then look back and see only two footprints
where there once flourished two pairs,
to know that all animals need four legs
even **** sapiens, and that’s why they were trusted with two more
Some folks wait until the rains come with a ravenous miasma to reminisce
that they once had more than a coat to keep away the biting chills
some people wait until their soul is midst winter
to acknowledge the warmth that darlings do bring
Some fellows wait until there's a thwarting loud silence
where the rhythm of another heartbeat
and nagging little arguments once occupied,
until music is just a miserable reminder of the beautiful yesterday
to realize that they didn't dance enough when they
had the opportunity to do so... Some people wait until
the antagonist has skipped to another story to
know that every hero needs their antagonist
and sometimes the antagonists are so simply because they are misunderstood...
Some people wait until fresh air rather than an aroma
of a carefully prepared recipe welcomes them home to
see that a House isn't Home, love is the home
as home is laughter at the dinner table
and there isn't a better meal than a big loaf of humor
shared between two cautiously weaved intricate souls made for each other,
folks wait until they are driving emptiness
a neglected anthropoid once tried to fill with
the air of romantic praise and or criticism of the skills on wheels
to realize that the escapade isn't the drive, but voyaging with our world
for most of the journeys we make are more about self-discovery
than they are about cosmic exploration…
Do not wait until it’s too late to appreciate the value
Your loved ones add to your life… Always appreciate love
When it’s given and in the same way, give love when it’s needed…

Wait your turn...
Everybody has to wait their turn

Whether standing in line to leap off the ledge
Spending your dime calling up death
Excusing your life as you clean up the mess

We all have to wait our turn

Wait your turn...
Take a number and wait your turn

Whether trying your patience at the grocery store
Back up for seconds cause your wanting more
Continually knocking at opportunities door

We all have to wait our turn

Wait your turn...
Please have a seat and wait your turn

Whether your dining in or your eating out
North of the city or South of downtown
Gazing in wonder or living in doubt

We all have to wait our turn
Jason Nel Mar 2014
I wait and I wait for your sweet reply:
Of love and caring,
of what I want on to rely.

I wait and I wait to see your beautiful face:
To see your shores of blue,
to see you smile and haste.

I wait and I wait until you speak:
Until we walk,
until we converse at the creak.

But sometimes its unbearable...
The wait.
The nausea and feelings of distraught,
anger,
rage,
pain.
Love...

But what we share and what we shared,
was worth waiting for and nothing can compare.
Renard Jackson Jun 2016
I will wait for you because pressure is not what you need right now
I will wait for you because you asks me to
I will wait for you because it is something that I want
I will wait for you because love has no barrens
I will wait for you because there is no one else I rather be with
I will wait for you because through it all my leisure time will be gratefully rewarded
I will wait for you because you are special care package that need to be tended with care cause you are fragile
I will wait for you because you are waiting for me
I will wait for you cause God is our savior and grants is this privileged to be together
I will wait for you because you are worthy of that
I will wait for you because it's something I will not dare want to lose
I will wait for you because I want to spend my whole life with you not just some years and have memoirs of what could of been
I will wait for you cause patience is a virtue and you are my air, my heart beat, my soul.
Love is about patience its the most important next to communication those two have to meet, if not there is no future for your vision

canto 1
I call her daddy my own. He felt nothing for her when the time had come for him to do something he fell and she felt nothing at all, nothing whatsoever. It is a cruel world, mateys, and the best thing you can do is curse God and die. Hard to ditch the pity act. Ditching is denying and there is much truth to the lie.

canto 2
Their eyes bubble in the open air, they fill to bursting and scrub until they scratch. **** drips. It's a sound that I will never forget. A sight that should be reserved for the dream world...a stench unrivaled.

canto 3
The Chinese bomber is persistent. One has to wonder why he bothers at all, seeing that his attempts have been futile up until the present moment. It's shoe week, so I guess he has his reasons. But this has gone on for far too long. If there were a way for me to stop him I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

canto 4
Random parking lots and good God what have they done? I thought it was all over, these thoughts were through, these voices are mad. Usually it's not as upsetting. Your car door gets stuck, you know, it happens all the time. It happens every day, still you never get used to it, do you? You're always stuck inside that ugly mirror.

canto 5 (the "missing canto")

canto 6
I want to tell the world how good you are. Amazing and incredible. **** and *******. Talented and unrestrained. Honey nut Cheerios. You give it but I have a sneaky feeling you would rather be lost in a dream. A banal night vision. Comparably

canto 7
I want to make it better. I want to see you smile. What can I do? You are my own heart ripped from my chest and given wings to fly. Your smile is a lost treasure I would do anything to get it back to give it back to you, I didn't mean to take it away from you. You push me up against a stone wall and you don't even realize you're doing it. That my soul cries and prays for something real, for some kind of explanation or even an excuse would be fine right now. Instead I float. Not the way I like to float. I drift and crash, a dizzying spiral out of control, confused and dumbfounded by the realization that none of it means a ******* thing. What I thought was love turned out to be a jester's game, a joker's trick. You don't need me anymore.

canto 8
I hide myself behind a blanket of stone where you cannot spit fireballs at me without cracking an egg. Cold breeze tickles my news. It's not too chilly in this room. But the fireballs warm things up. "Blanket of stone"...what a stupid expression. Why do you have to be so hateful to me? How many times can a man say I'm Sorry without losing an eyeball?

canto 9
I have no right to feel the way I do. I don't think I can control it, though. This is one of the ****** up idiosyncrasies of my confused existence. Vanish without a trace and look for clues in the alphabet soup.

canto 10
Weariness is like a slug, a giant slug, a parasite infesting my body, hanging on and hanging out. A fire down below that waits for my imagination. My sleep patterns are getting ****** up but I'm not sure if I was sleeping or just dreaming I was awake. Under the impression that it doesn't matter? Well, you are a stone fool for thinking that way. You've never experienced the life-changer. Else you would know. But all I want to know is this: Why am I afraid of sleep?

canto 11
Things get slow. Patience is required, but I don't have any. Why does it have to be that way, o cruel dictator? You get a kick out of this ****, don't you?

canto 12
Spill your guts, maties, it's the only way you'll ever come out of this situation with even a shard of dignity intact. I know it's early and you haven't had time to adjust your eyes and your wrists for this delicate task. Go! Do it now before you lose confidence.

canto 13
We took a holiday and it was so nice. She stood there on that stage without a stitch of clothing on her voluptuous body. Baby, don't you let your hairdresser down

canto 14
Who doesn't love breakfast? Me, actually.

canto 15
I can't help it if I'm changing every day. Ask the question later, maybe my answer will be suitable. I don't think I can help you because I'm not like anyone you've ever known or will ever know or can ever know or would ever want to know and why do you keep wanting to know where I've been? I've been right here. Right where I've always been. Haven't moved a muscle.

canto 16
This is the 16th and I should be proud but the apathy seeps from my very pours. That little ******* was about to take a **** in the corner. When I picked him up to take him to the paper he dropped a couple of turds on the floor beneath me. I guess he couldn't wait.

canto 17
Sometimes things change so much that it's hard to tell if they're for the best or the worst. It is at these times that I enjoy a good evening on the water, enjoying my yacht and eating peanuts from another man's sack. Salted peanuts with pickled eggs and deviled ham with a side order of angel food crack.

canto 18
My wrist hurts and I've lost the will to **** socks.

canto 19
The lawn chair has been placed under extreme scrutiny. It's rocking motion is being scientifically tested and arranged for packaging. The physics of this miracle are in the process of logistical infiltration. You'd be surprised at how useful a rocking lawn chair can be in a world tangled in war. It's a good place to relax. For paranoids, that is.

canto 20
Bird feathers of a different post, it has never made a lick of sense and the promises made were broken. Who was that man in the bird suit? Why was he making all those funny noises? I'll have to investigate. Lawd have mercy I do believe I've **** my pants.

canto 21
Don't come crying to me if you feel misunderstood. I can read right through you and I know that all you're doing is fishing for a compliment. You will not receive one from me, Salty Dog, not because you don't deserve one. You probably do. But not from me. Perhaps you should take up your case with Hoda Kotbe. Who knows but that you might look really, really good on television. Just remember to feed the dog before you leave. He gets hungry. But he doesn't miss you. I don't mean to break your heart, but the rational man within me is very convincing when he tells me you are a real pickle.

canto 22
Those comments are found particularly offensive in light of the situation in the Gulf. You need to regulate your interest in beans. One day you'll fly to the Middle East looking for peace and all you will find are demons like the ones who raised so much hell in "The Exorcist". You don't want that, do you? Settle for Ranch Style and leave the diplomacy to the masters.

canto 23 (the "lost" canto)
I wouldn't wish this on a barrel full of monkeys. They say that time heals all wounds and I suppose it does. No "if"s, "and"s or "but"s. Don't believe me? Listen to 'em snarl. They're hungry for blood and sandwiches. I owe you nothing, so perhaps I'll send you a good time from New York. You gotta love a trapeze artist.

canto 24
I'm trying my best to change the world but the fact remains that the human race does not deserve the kind of tender loving care that I'm well known for. This holiday event will not include high temperatures or the kind of crap the weather people try to sell you.

canto 25
******* Valhalla. This is how it always seems to wind up, isn't it, Pinnochio? Just when you think things are getting better, BAM, ****** up again.

canto 26
You know you've reached a severe point of boredom when you switch to the Daystar Network and find yourself singing along to the bogus faith healers. Pecans on that one, please.

canto 27
Plug away, Sailor. Keep plugging away. When you get there you can say you plugged away with as much vim and vigor as a much larger man. Slough it off, O Great one. Keep sloughing it off. When you get there you can say you sloughed it off with as much skill and empathy as one might expect from a lizard. Or a monster frog.

canto 28 (the "twenty-eighth canto")
Come, look at my incredible collection of dice. Right next to my collection of mice. Next to that bowl of rice. Sugar and spice, everything nice. My head's full of lice. Don't think twice, just break the ice. Pup your puppy dog in the freezer.

canto 29
My toes are cold and so is my nose. I should be concerned with this situation but, strangely, I could care less. There are so many other, more important things to worry about. Like how many frosted flakes are in that box over there. And is there any milk left? And is it the real deal or that phony 2%? 1%? Skim milk is even worse. If it gets down to that point I'll save the money and use tap water. Don't think for a moment that I won't.

canto 30
Colored pencils expect risque answers to tame pencils. Unfortunately the quality of superior eggs is relative to the ice cream that has dripped down your shirt. You're starting to smell bad and I would highly recommend soaking in vinegar for an hour or six.

canto 31
There are times when I wish the planet would implode and **** every living thing into a void. I don't wanna die, but if I'm gonna I want everyone else to come with me. I'm tired of hearing about God's word. But even more so John Hagee's special gift for your love offering of any amount, the super duper Bible verse audio player, with selected passages read by the man himself. You can leave him behind.

canto 32 (the "same as the 31st" canto)
There are times when I wish the planet would implode and **** every living thing into a void. I don't wanna die, but if I'm gonna I want everyone else to come with me. I'm tired of hearing about God's word. But even more so John Hagee's special gift for your love offering of any amount, the super duper Bible verse audio player, with selected passages read by the man himself. You can leave him behind.

canto 33
Yazaa, yazaa, yazaa I told you I was gonna steal that car. You didn't think I had the guts, did you? But look who's laughing now! That guy with the big flower in his pocket must really feel like **** right now, realizing that his awesome vehicle is no longer in his possession. Maybe get an ice cream cone, maybe feel better.

canto 34
Come out of your hidey-hole, scurvy dog. Rat scabies be breathing down your neck and it's cold and old and you'll do as you're told. Pinch back that stray lock of hair, O Queen of Sheba. You shall spend the rest of your days parked on a green chariot overlooking Lake Erie

canto 35
You could have given me a reason for the season. Instead you had nothing to offer but a huge chunk of pepperoni that had mold growing all over it. Admittedly it was delicious but surely you could have come up with something a bit more expressive of the tender emotions I inspired within your fluttering heart.

canto 36
The prospect of a news reporter calling you a crack head based on information gleamed from your Internet social network profiles is quite terrifying, but when you tie the noose you might as well make sure it was time well spent. It's a shame you shaved your head because the painful truth is that now you bear a striking resemblance to Telly Savalas.

canto 37
Energy. That's what is required. And not just the kind of energy you can get from sugar, caffeine and butter. If it were that easy you could be **** sure that the Catholic Church would be the first in line to canonize it. They have a burning desire to fall off the wagon. "Which wagon?" you may ask. The one with the ice cream, of course. Don't be a fool.

canto 38 (a "short" canto)
If boredom is a sea in which one can easily sink into and drown in, I must be swimming the Atlantic.

canto 39
When the dog barks like that it's a sure bet that he's been neutered in the last few days. It's a sad and sorrowful sound that is only recognized by **** knockers in the deep woods.

canto 40
I could stare at the bars of this prison for the rest of my life. Okay, that's *******.

canto 41
Who was it that once said time is the only reliable concept in the universe? Oh, wait. That was me

canto 42
They tell you to wait. That's what it's all about. Wait, wait, wait, wait until I can almost feel my hair turning gray. The estimated time is currently number 7 the estimated hold time is 4 minutes, thank you for your patience. Well, you're welcome, comrade.

canto 42
I've only to surrender you to the world, lie down and wait for it to crush me.

canto 43
If I can only keep it together...if I can only hold it together this one time, I know the gravy train will come my way. Would it do any good to pray? This isn't the first time that enlightenment and illumination have reared their blessed heads. Would that I could live within them this time.

canto 44
Have I told you lately how much I hate to wait? Thinketh not that the Chair has lost it's financial imbalance, the very thread of chocolate that brought you here. It is still a very important and, some would say, a hot topic regardless of the amount of grime, sweat, blood and V8 juice is spilled on it's ivory shaped pear seat.

canto 45
The shadows turn into cloaks, dark itchy woolen capes that enfold the nothingness beneath them, the nothingness of being. You could have worked a little longer and a little harder on that one, amigo.

canto 46
It's been awhile but my wrist still hurts and I've written the word "moon" on the back of my hand with a Sharpie.

canto 47
I'm movin' this **** to WordPress. No I'm not. **** WordPress. Press WordFuck. Word FuckPress. On and on and on and on and not the least bit clever or entertaining. But I do like steaks.

canto 48
I swear to God I wish I had never taken that first hit of ****. Look what it's done to me. After so many years, I guess I was only fooling myself. Or maybe I was so dumbed down that it didn't seem to matter. But now things have changed. And I can do nothing about it. Dump a can of Campbell's Chunky Soup into a bowl, throw it into the microwave, let 'er go for three minutes, let 'er cool down in the oven for a couple more, stir in a quarter cup of Tabasco sauce, let 'er cool down for a little while longer, mix in a ****-load of Cheez-It reduced fat crackers and then go to ******* town. Go to ******* town, I say, **** the stoner days.

All I hear anymore is:
I can't wait to get through this year.
I can't wait for the school trip in May.
I can't wait to start high school.
I can't wait to start driving.
I can't wait to go to college.
I can't wait for this.
I can't wait for that.
Instead of wishing your life would co faster, slow down. Just live. Just breath. It can wait.
Just live. Just breath. Slow down.

Everyday, I wait for you.
It's all I ever do.
I wait for you to be home from school.
I sit around and stay cool.

I wait for you to be home from a guys' night out.
I make sure you're home safe so I can sleep without a doubt.
I wait for you when you feel like calling..
I wait for you, you know I do.

You did not force me to wait.
I guess, Im just the one who doesn't hesitate.
Maybe I just wanted to wait for you,
Or you give me reason to.

Im not complaining to you.
I just want you to appreciate what I do.
But there are really times when I think it's enough.
These were the times I think it's rough.

You keep me waiting for you.
Maybe you don't care coz you know waiting is what I always do.
But sometimes, you keep me waiting not knowing what to expect.
I think it's just painful and I feel that somehow there's no respect.

It's hard when you wait for something.
How much more if you just wait there not knowing what's gonna be happening?
When the person you're waiting for doesn’t say a word.
You think you're being absurd.

I just grew tired of doing so.
Especially when you found out you waited for nothing though.
I guess it breaks your heart.
I bet it tears you apart.

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the army kid silently waiting in calculated anticipation

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the bad kid waiting nervously on the couch

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the outgoing kid that had never met his father

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the baseball enthusiast who couldn't wait for tonight's catch

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the kid who only saw him when the law allowed

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to a 21 year old man who was about to meet him for the first time

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
to the kid wondering if he'd get at least a comment tonight

A mom said wait until your dad comes home
and someone cared

I wait for the crashing fight.
for the tire screech,
the door slam-
for the lava words
that roll magnificent red from my tongue
and slowly drip ashen black onto the wooden floor between us.
I wait for the broken flute,
tiny bubbles, tiny dreams-
all absorbed by Berber Carpet
and mailbox stuffed
with molehills of mountains.
I wait for the heaving pressures
that blow things upwards,
that blow things inwards.
That makes canyons
and mushrooms
I wait for the fury that turns my eyes
cast with doubt, cast with coal dust.
my lungs puffed with indignation-
so little room to breathe
that I am high from venom.
I wait for the disgust to
wrap around me like a Sunday School wrap-skirt
colorful and gay,
and dropped to the floor without
consideration.
I wait for the hate to be early.
with hope already so foolishly spent on each other,
with faith so carelessly blown away
riding in invisible
paper airplanes-
such are the kisses sent across busy roads.
Waste, waste all these desires of the mundane
when lust drives
outside forces divide,
heat and sinner unite us
and I wait,
I do.

I wait for it to pass.
So as to get to the stuff a day beyond the splintered wood
past the love,
past the lush.
past the lace on my forehead.
I wait for it all to past so as to get myself wholly to you.
For it is not the very last of days
I wait to spend with you,
It is the very all of days I wait to spend with you.

you shared your time with me, and i am as always, ever grateful.

I wait all day,
For the darkness to come.
I sit outside,
I watch the sun.
I wait for the stars,
I wait for my fun.
I cannot wait,
For the darkness to come.

I wait all day,
For the darkness to come.
I sit outside,
I watch the clock,
Time slowly ticks on,
Tick tock, tick tock.
I cannot wait,
For the darkness to come.

It's almost time,
The darkness is near.
I wait and watch,
The sun disappears.
The sky's ablaze,
Like fire it sneers.
I can wait no long,
Please darkness come here!

Finally it's here,
The darkness is here!
The stars come out to play,
With the moon,
And his friends the planets.
Oh how I wish they could stay!
Darkness don't go,
Please don't go away.

But in good time,
They'll have to leave,
And I'll need wait once more.
I'll have to wait all day,
For the time I truly adore.
I'll wait all day for the darkness,
And after that,
I'll wait some more.
Jennifer Weiss May 2015
I worship while I wait.
I serve while I wait.
I cry whilst I wait.
And I pray to take the pain away, while I wait.
I get impatient while I wait.
I fear while I wait.
I regret while I wait.
And I remember to live while I wait.
I love while I wait.
I trust while I wait.
I listen while I wait.
And I remember to focus on only the good, while I wait.
But all these things never make me forget...
I'm still waiting.

I'm not good at taking it slow
But I hope you know
Waiting isn't something I do well
But I'll wait for you, Annabelle

So many years since the day
I heard you say
"It's not time for us just yet"
And never did I once forget
That you were out there as well
As I waited for you, Annabelle

Time goes on and so it did
Just like you said
"It's not now or never"
But I said I'd wait forever
In all the time between heaven and hell
I'll wait for you, Annabelle

It's not easy for me to stand
As he takes your hand
But as long as he treats you well
I'll wait for you, Annabelle

Time is all I have left. Everything else is just a blur, always shifting.
I understand that people don't have time, but that means they don't have me either, for time is all I seem to have left. "Let's go!" I can't. Wait. "I guess we'll go and do it without you." I don't have the ability to twist the world around me to be able to do as I please as so many others do. "Just do it." I can't. Wait. "I guess I'll do it and chew you out later"I'm unable to do things at a moment's notice. "Just say ***** it and come out!" I can't. Wait. "Well, I guess that means you don't want us. That means you don't care." No. What it means is that I can't. Just wait. If you can't, then I'm sorry. "Sorry doesn't cut it. You should be able to do this and that because of this or that." I can't. Wait. "Wait for what? For everything to slip past you? For people to control you?" No. I'm just following the rules of my loving parents. Some day I won't live with them, so just wait. Until then, here I remain and to their rules I pertain. You don't understand. "You always say that." Because you keep trying to push it. "I'm going to apologize sarcastically for this and that and make you feel miserable then." And you don't understand that I can't control it no matter what I say or do. Listen when I say I can't. Wait. Maybe if you wait, I'll be able to later. But nobody is patient anymore. Everyone is speeding ahead blindly and leaving me behind. This is why I say all I have left is the constant and ever-repetitive tick-tock of time. Because unlike most, time will wait for me. I can't. Wait. "Okay." Says the clock. I'm going to do this at this time and then have enough time for this. "I'm right here." Says the ticking face. And some day I'll have my dreams come true with time to spare to do what I wish for the rest of the time I have in my life. I can't wait.
Not sure if this counts as a poem. I'm sorry. I'm trying. I'm just having a little trouble at the moment. Thank you for your understanding.
I'm not sure if this would be classified as a love poem because it's not really for you
It's more for me.
It's to help me see all the endless possibilities, but your gaze is always interrupting me.
Your gaze always luring me into the light it always seems, but I always end up alone in this dark room.
I sit, I think, I wait. I sing, I dance, I play, I wait. I wait. I wait. I wait and wait and wait and ******* wait.
How long have I been here?
endless endless it remains

Because you see I am the one who waits. I am the one you never take on a date. I am the one who cooks you food only to be the fool.
The fool who is in love with love. I am hopeless in the art of love.
So I wait, wait, wait, but I never act.
When I act I am more vulnerable than before and the anxiety attacks me till I am back on the floor, guiding me into that same dark room your eyes led me to.
Those same luring stares I try to climb into are the same ones that drop me every time I look back at you.
I miss the 'waiting' you used to make me do.
It used to be my favorite thing to do.
Yes, especially when you were late, or so late I can even forget I did nothing but just wait for you.

I miss the times we were sending SMS's
when I waited, sending tens of messages before you can reply a one-liner.
I also miss those feelings I had when you don't answer your phone,
when I try to call you numerous times...and all i hear is the annoying ring
to let me know you are reachable but just not bothering..
the ones I ended up waiting until the entire day ended,
And had to wait again to hear your sweetest apology that have always worked.

It's crazy, but I loved that waiting until you come home.
When you used to tell me to wait for a few minutes, but ended up waiting for an hour more.
Weren't this the very thing I used to do too, when you were still asking me out?
I guess you turned the table, and how I didn't mind about that because I was already there,
Revolving around you.

Time wasn't precious spending them to wait for you for lunch, wait for you for dinner, even wait for you to know I was waiting.
But seeing you finally come, I remember the feeling of gladness waiting brings!
It's like the feeling you have when you experience a miracle when you don't even deserve it.

Yes, I miss being the one waiting for you,
and the times I felt that I was just the only one waiting for you.
Thought all those waiting I did, weren't a waste, but rather,
A training ground for my upcoming occupation..
So optimistic of me..
I've always thought they'd prepare me to face the biggest wait in the history of loving you.
The wait that you'd finally choose me.

But you Didn't.
The funny thing is, there's Still a strong drive inside of me now that pushes me to wait even more...
Wait to prove my doubt right or wrong.
How long would that be then? I don't know.
This whole 'loving you' thing is so powerful it could steal my time.
It doesn't seem to see that time flies.
It doesn't seem to feel the overtime and no alarm sound would seem to wake it up.
so it moves on...

I will wait for you
on a crowded street

I will wait for you
on the busiest bridge

I will wait for you
on a fussy platform

I will wait  for you
near the rushed office gate

I will wait  for you
near a temple

I will wait for you
near your house entrance

I will wait for you
wherever you assure to come

I'll wait here on the shelf
I'll wait for you to see me
I'll wait for you to pick me up
I'll wait for you to use me
I'll wait and wait and
I'll wait some more
I'll wait for you forever
If that will make you happy
I used to be your favorite
I was always in your hand
But now I'm just an artifact
Of an old forgotten land

I wait
written May 9th, 2021

I wait
for the sun to rise
so I can see
if the trees
still reside
outside.

I wait
for those who slumber
to wake
so there is the possibility
of  . . . ?

I wait
to know the question
so I can search
for the answer.

I wait
to find the key
that makes it all
make sense.

I wait
for the tears
to start?
to stop?
to know why I cry.

I wait
for daylight
so I can cultivate
something other than
silence.

I watch
my cats sleep
in the middle
of the night
and
I wait.
There's a few poems about not sleeping. This one was in the middle of the night. Waiting.
If i had God's mind
I would choose you because i know i would handle you
But am just human
My mind fails me sometimes and my heart keeps silent
My mind cant conceive and my heart cant discern
And sometimes my eyes work full time while my heart just stays in bed all day
Babe all i can do is wait
Wait on him that sees with divinity
He who sees and defines the future
I can't help but wait

There is a fire that burns in my heart
What i do not know is will it keep me warm through the dark cold nights
Or will it burn my heart to ashes? I wonder!
Your arms around me feel so safe........
But honey....ooh i cant lie i do not know
I do not know what lies behind that hold
It maybe too tight that it strangles
Or too loose to protect
I can't help but wait

I look at you and my heart tells me to hold on a little longer
But why? ..............why do i fight with my emotions
When this should be the easiest decision
How come it feels so wrong yet so right?
Does love even matter anymore, does it remember am alive
Does love consider, does it come to the unlovable?
Does it last for eternity?
I cant love you just for a lifetime
I wanna love you for eternity
But why do i feel lost?
I can't help but wait

I have trusted before, loved before, cared for before
But it never lasted
Betrayal.........fear of getting hurt, my tender heart can't handle it
I have given and been misused but i held on
Now my cords are rotting the line looks loose
Will i fall?
I do not know if this is another unsafe zone, another mis-use
With my heart so tender i can't try anymore
I can't help but wait
Wait on Him and Him alone
I can't help but wait

Deep down in the inhospitable gloom
Monterey Canyon welcomes an expectant mother
Unnoticed in the distance a whirring sound
and two parallel laser beams
Miss Cellania finds a nook
That instinct suggests is right
A place to nest and brood
A place to guard and wait

1.4 kilometers up a research institute
Guided the unmanned submarine
Correlated masses of data
Stared at live video feed
A unique event unfolded
Capturing such a moment
in this dark abyss

Clinging to a vertical rock
Her precious babies waiting to hatch
Her final duty to
Wait

Wait

Wait

Wait

Wait
Protect from predators and the icy cold
And so she began the
Inky black wait

Detached

Alone

The research crew returned later that year
Miss Cellania dutifully kept her vigil
They returned again month after month
Still she stubbornly stuck to the task in hand
The months turned to years
And still she protected her unhatched young
Clung to the same vertical spot
With nothing to eat
Alert, defensive
Motherly
Patiently waiting
Wasting away
Waiting
Waiting

Untill

F i f t y   t h r e e   m o n t h s   l a t e r
Four and a half years
Finally her wait ended
With a flurry of independent life

**Then death.
For all mothers
The mothers instinctive love
is surely the most powerful force on earth

It's been 59 days since I've seen you and I'm sitting here thinking about how we say the words "I can't" so casually. So endearingly. I can't wait to see you again. But what is promising about that? Why do we always find those words shoving out of our mouths, flying off of our finger tips. I can't wait. But we can wait, and we will wait, and we do. We always do. Without question, we wait and we wait and we wait, without promise of when it will be that we'll see each other again. Without certainty, without doubt, we wait. And this has been and always will be the case when it comes to you. So no, I can't wait to see you again, yes.
But I will.

— The End —
