I am nothing but
the expanding universe
within myself

galaxy after galaxy
of twinkling neurons
together in infinity

my eyes exist solely
to reflect starlight
and gain insight into
things that still must be

they sparkle as if man
has suppressed so many
tears for so long that
within my gaze oceans
are waiting

and they shine as if
the light was eternal

We live In a land where the people romance the reality
Instead of embracing and facing the realism
In attempts to make it better for these little boys and girls
Not realizing they are implanting pessimism
Causing their minds to be closed with frailty
And the creativity within that should spark and swirl
Instead lies dormant, Suppressed and concealed.
Leading to people who know nothing and have faith
That they know everything.

The little white beauty,
The world she wanted to see.
Inspired by her deceased father,
She wanted to become a doctor.
But alas, the society
Shattered all her aspirations.
All her dreams caged,
Till she was aged.
Her heart suppressed
Her life lost all zest.
The little bird (the girl) wants to spread her wings and fly but the world around her restrains her from doing so.

It's like a habit, done unconsciously
Do we even know, it is reactionary?
This breathing out with varying intensities
Could itself, be a tendency
Says a lot---it could mean anything,
It could mean everything...
Speaking becomes a choice,
To hear, or not to hear one's voice.

There's a sigh of admission
Or agreement...a signal of an ensuing confession,
Rarely comes with a nod or a smile...
We admire with a sigh
Our eyes, a sparkle it could never hide,
We give out a sigh of despair
When hopelessness permeates the air.
From disappointment, we frown
Our shoulders are down,
And when one is anxious, and wait-less
Limbs are so restless
Mind is unruly, followed usually
By a sigh of anxiety.
When heart and mind have conceded
A sigh of surrender has succeeded
When what we see is beyond comprehension
And we.....have run out of options...

When the air is laced with sorrow
We sigh, and then tears follow
Because words refuse to flow
A sigh is all that we can let go.

We sense disrespect
A snort, we usually expect
As things, people, sometimes stray
And we sigh in dismay.

When what we feel we cannot utter
We exhale...it feels so much better
Sometimes, it is gentle...other times, violent
Could be like a shout...or one so fervent...

I ventured...thought of a lot more sighs,
They could fill my page...I could run out of rhymes
So I'm ending this poem with one...prolonged and high
Acknowledging...that a sigh is not just a sigh,
it holds words, actions suppressed, even ****** expressions,
Confusing....at times, giving wrong impressions,
Because...the true reason for the sigh
Is known, only to the one who sighs.

They trow me in flames
and they ask me why am I killing me
They ask me «why do you care»
Then they ask me «why don't you care»

They want to see me full of feelings
But they don't want me to show my pain
They want me perfect
And they want me carefree
They want to hear mellow words
And they want me thoughtless

*And the others are just the others
and none measure them
Lips dusted with *******
Every kiss has you addicted

Sniffing out all this pain
To make it through the life im living

Selling my soul for pocket change
Hoping to see the end of the day

Slits on my wrists
Looking like a checklist

Internal bruises
And burnt cigarette lips

Sleepless nights
Staring at the city lights

Inhalation and contemplation
Oh, how devastating the decisions im making

I used to be this rose growing from the concrete
Now I'm just a penny lying on the street

What is this wall
That keeps us in
Over each other, we trip; we fall
We are like fish with no fins

Head on we crash
With fists we beat
We hack and we slash
Screaming, kicking with invisible feet

Blocked we remain
Let us flow
Us you can't contain
Let us go

Strengthened with aggregate
But held back by concrete
Cerebral wall with no gate
We're packed with angry grit

You know we're here
You feel us roiling
You hear us clear
Boiling and brewing

We understand the reason
You deem it necessary
Thinking it would lessen
Subdue the rage and fury

Your illusion of control
Of us, you'd pick the best
Surely you're taking the toll
Of being nothing but suppressed

All of us, we are you
We make you what you are
From the subtlest cue
To the high achieving star

We are many but we are one
Your thoughts and emotions
We are your loaded gun
We're the answer to false pretensions

You can't have us dammed
We've initiated a coup
No...we'll not be ******
Too late...we've broken through

the root of my problems, does not have a root at all, its like  not string or a tail of bread crumbs I can follow back to a single moment, it isnt a suppressed thought, its a voice that convinces me my thoughts were worth suppressing me in the first place.

***** in my eyes
Burning
All I can think is
Don't cry, don't cry
So much so that now
I've suppressed the feeling
Completely.

I am alone now
And I want to let it out
But I can't
Don't cry, don't cry
I told myself
As ***** mixed with
The tears never spilled.

I'm in such control of my emotions
That I can't find a release when
I need it.

‘freedom is a state of mind’
Wars fought
Wars lost
Freedom gained
Freedom lost.
The mind is almost devoid of peace,
When a beast sits entrapped inside.
It is like two magnets of the same charge.
Conflicting and warring,
Trying to meet at a certain point.

Barbed wires of suppression
blunt knives of oppression
The head is a place of chaos
full of:
‘I’m guilty’ ‘No you are not’
‘I’m too proud’ ‘no you are not’
The oppressor just mollifies the pain of the suppressor
It is too weak to overcome it.
The head then bursts
And out flow tears, tears in a million shades
For they signify such different sorrowful tastes
The person, he sighs
An empty mind
Peaceful mind
War fought
War won
Freedom lost
Freedom *gained
In life we tend to give a lot of importance to our insecurities
