the fragile morning seeps
her shadowing sunlight into my morning coffee cup, staining the walls of its home dark.
i sip on her effortlessly, her warmth a flowing melody against the chaotic prance of my pulse.
I close my eyes & let her wander.

With the width of the universe's expanse,
outer space holding stars within its hands,
of the millions of stars shooting ablaze,
the Sun somehow shines on you everyday.

Sunlight coming in through the window and resting on my inner thigh
The warmth reminds me of the soft kisses
That your sacred lips once left behind

May I propose a fifth season
It’s anytime you feel happy
And the world suddenly shifts
Rain becomes music
And sunlight happy dancers
Leaves fall like inhibitions
And snow comforts warmly
This season is universal
No happiness is equatorially dependent
A smile is a smile
In rain or sun or leaves or snow
The world can be changed
By a glimpse of the fifth season

I know you saw it,
The snow coming down in sheets,
The snow you wished would quit,
The snow that covered the whole street.

White flakes escape from the clouds,
Flash in front of your vision,
The white all your sight enshrouds,
Until endless snow is all you can envision.

But did you see the sunlight this morning,
The gentle glow from the waking sun,
That, rather than a warning,
Was a sign that the night had been won?

Did you see the beauty that the snow held,
Sparkling like stars in the night sky?
Nothing from our eyes the Lord withheld,
When He made the snow shimmer nigh.

So remember that happiness can follow sadness
And if you don’t look for it, you might not find it.
Now if you’ll excuse this rambling madness,
A lovely snowman I will now outfit.
Just trying to embrace the snow :)

When I was young
I would spend hours
Braiding and undoing
My thick golden hair
Now that I’ve grown
I pull strands of sunlight
Out of the sky
To braid the golden strings
Into a crown
And claim my rightful place
After all, I wasn’t named Leia for nothing
-waiting to be recognized as a general instead of a princess
It was all practice for the real deal

We entwine our hearts,
growing into each other.
So when things fall apart,
and the other decides to pull away,
we're ripping ourselves up by the roots,
and cutting into our own skin,
to get a taste of freedom
In the sunlight.

I was once your sunlight....

You won't need water from the rain
we kissed so dearly in.
My tears will forever be enough
to watch you grow,
while I sit alone,
giving you the water from my body
and watching you thrive
as I shrivel and die
at your
feet.

her eyes awaken before dawn
while her soul remains in transit
between unity and separation
between a painful, intense longing
and a pretense of indifference
that would temporarily preserve
her sanity.

she walks through crowds
all she sees are sounds and colours
passing by her numbed heart
keeping her head up, she witnesses
the blue horizons scraped by buildings
the zenithen sunlight lining every object
- breathtaken by a suppressed memory,
she unknowingly lets out a silent sigh
in place of an unmentioned name,
deliberately buried deep within.

often, she pauses her thoughts to view
the vastness of the world, in hopes
that it will cause her heart's unspoken
matter to be reduced into insignificance
and she won't have to live the pain
of remembrance.

yet, how could she remove the source
of her heart's peace, and yet, how could she continue living with the torment of distance,
of uncertainty, the eternal fear
that she would be forgotten,
before she forgets.

outwardly, her form is in good health
her speech eloquent, her posture straight
her eyes dry, her walk steady,
yet inwardly, she is paralysed,
her sickness grows each day
and at night, she drowns into
sweet memories of the unmentioned
as she tells herself that his smile will
return...even if only in her dreams.

her eyes close after midnight
while her soul remains in transit
between nearness and distance
between darkness and a light
that would conclude her wait
in all goodness, in peace.

“You’re beautiful” I say
For lack of a better word
Because how can I only describe her as so?
She’s what it feels like to feel the sun dance upon your face
The wind gently rustling your hair
The glowing of wood lit aflame
Candles flickering while the windows rattle from wind

She’s the beginning of the Star Wars theme at full blast
Hearing the sound of the TARDIS for the first time in so long
The opening credits of each long-awaited marvel movie
Feeling the magic of reading the first Harry Potter book again
The closing of a finished book, knowing there’s more to come
Rapping every line of Hamilton perfectly

She’s everything pure in the world that brings unbridled joy
And there’s no way that “beautiful” could
EVER
Measure up to that
Because that word is too overused
