In his world where the sun barely rises,
there she is— set to give warmth.
The war inside his head is extreme,
but there she is whispering good dreams.
Many times he will shout "help!"
and there she responds and loves him more than herself.
She chooses to learn how to dance in the rain,
and tells him she's there even in times of pain;
because she cares more of his scars
than facing her own wars—
because she loves him and she hopes he knew.

Open up the Wound…by Jessie 7/05

Time has healed the wound
The scar thick and numb

News came today
Picking at the wound

Tearing at the flesh
Until the bloods released

Memories close at hand
Feelings unappeased

Am I still attached?
By this single thread

Is his blood half mine?
Have I been, deceived?

Do I want to know?
Was everything a lie?

Open up the wound
Memories will not die

"For your heart's sake, avoid to drink of the love poison,
you can not control the damage and its proportion"
There was an angel's voice singing it loud in my ears
and telling me a revenge way to scare all my fears

I walked through a journey profoundly made of scars
while above my sky there were plenty of shining stars...
Lights there reignited so bright, it even risks to get me blind
As a fact, I never stepped on dopamine's trail
since believing in true love, gave me a badly fail

While my consciousness told me "to be careful" as a reply
I was falling in desire for every stranger with a clouded eye
You were my windy rain, pouring of happiness with every gain
But if I survived during all of my dreary life
why wouldn't I cicatricize my coming lonely night?

Don't show your scars, or they might multiply.
They spread and spread, and give more pain.
They make friends angry, and make friends sad.
You lose more acquaintances, and gain more enemies.

He has wandered for a while,
And come to find his territory,
A place where he has finally beat
All others & all odds.
The wounds of his journey shine.
On his ragged, sunburnt coat.
They make him look uglier
A lot more than his innocent soul.

A soul, that from being beaten
Being chased for no reason
Simply cannot discern,

Between love and fear.
So when people come near,
He growls and suspects
Because he doesn't know if a person
Wants to torture or touch.
And he can't find out once more
Not the hard way.

His only pride now -
is to guard his dirt.
To pretend it's worth.
To pretend he's king.
To roam the earth.

And it's only a matter of time
Before he scars someone else.
An act of a beast -
Simply set in his ways.
And finally the soul of that child
will resemble it's mane.
And the world resolves again.
To hunt all strays because
"They are evil",
They're all just the same.

Two lines, visible on your right arm;
I kiss them every time I see you.

Not much else can be said about
two little lines, but I need to say more.

Two tiny lines that'll scar and fade away
leaving only a memory of why you

ripped open your arm because you felt
completely and utterly alone

because your own brother couldn't
do anything.

or say anything.
or stop you.

Even when he saw you create
those two bleeding lines.

"Doubt was here."
Carved the first scar.
It weakened a big portion
of your mind
It made you think low about yourself
But it made you pursue
And the scar is fading
A part of the darkening past.

"Fear was here."
Marked the second scar
It occupied your eyes, your heart
You don't want to see, nor feel
Nor try, nor love
It terrified you
But it made you tough
And now it's forgone conclusion.

"Wrath was here."
Burnt the third scar
Burn from fires of anger
That crept into your soul
It blazed a big part of your heart
It once killed your compassion
But it made you strong
Strong enough to forgive.

The fourth is fresh, hurting, bleeding
The blood drips "Love is here."
And love was the death of you
It was a knife that you let pierce through
It was a bullet you always catch
It was a poison you're addicted to
Love killed you,
But it made you alive once again.
Name your scars, don't be afraid.
On a moonlit night I ask you to dance
Here take my hand just take a chance
Don’t be shy; Don’t be scared
There is nothing for you to fear
I’ll wrap you in a wild romance
All I ask for is one chance
I’ll guide & lead and show the way
Just follow me; it’s okay
I’m a partner like no other
In no time I’ll be your lover

Dance with me and you’ll forget the rest
Simply put I am the best
Quickly I will take you over
Your defenses you will lower
You’ll say your vows; You’ll say “I do”
Trust me this much will be true
But when the honeymoon does end
That’s when all of it begins
I’ll show you the true side of me
A side before you did not see

I am possessive
I am controlling
It comes on quick
There is no warning
Lose your friends
Lose your family
The power I wield
is uncanny

The music’s changed
The lights have dimmed
A dance of virtue
is now of sin
You try to leave
but I won’t let you go
Your soul is lost
Time’s pace is slow

An empty shell
you will become
No more happy
No more fun
A slave to me
is all you are
I cut your flesh
I leave a scar

A quiet scream
inside you make
And when there’s nothing
left to take
I still take more
I take it all
Because of course
if you recall

You married me
You did your part
You said your vows
Till death we part
Now it’s time
to cash that in
Here you lose
No one wins

All because you took a chance
On a moonlit night when I asked you to dance

each broken bone will build my empire
and each scar will build my throne.
though crashing waves and
gusting winds try
to shake my stance i stand
as tall as a tower built to honor
the gods.
for i am not a god but a goddess
and i will level all of their towers
and break all of their shrines
to rebuild mine.

maybe
when you left
those scars
on my heart
i became
a beautiful poet.
my heart was too precious to fall in love with someone like you
